[Q] Last hope for an HTC one x rooting noob :) - HTC One X

Hello everyone,
I have used you guys in the past for other devices but never needed serious help, so here I am stuck in a looping hell
I have an HTC One X that I am trying to root and install the TWRP (I want to have an android that is factory set without the carrier info and bloatware ect)
The utility I am using is the HTC One X (Tegra 3/International) AIO Kit By Hasoon2000 v2.5. Here is my main issue:
I have successfully navigated all the steps to root the phone (Steps 1-5) and now when I boot into the bootloader I see the following,
***TAMPERED***
*** UNLOCKED ***
evita pvt ship s-on rl
hboot-2.14.0000
radio-0.23a.32.09.29
opendsp-v31.1.0.45.0815
emmc-boot
nov 26 2012,18:37:14:-1
Now from here it was my understanding that under "next, flash a recovery" I would simply pick "TWRP" and then click "flash recovery". This seems to work as the green bar in the top right loads briefly. After that I am at a loss. If I go to "bootloader" then go to "recovery" like the instructions say the phone just restarts and I see the Rogers splash screen again...
If it helps, when I try to flash the recovery using the "clockwordmod" it gives me an error "cannot load recoveries/cwm.img"
So to make this easier all I want is my phone to have nothing to do with the carrier on it, all traces of that wiped off at the single file level if possible.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have been at this for almost 6 hours straight

Your phone is not HTC One X International (endeavoru). DON'T flash anything from here or you will brick your phone. You have One X "evita". There is a specific forum at xda for your phone.

Right I am kinda at my wits end, I am trying to put my wifes Desire back to stock. I have tried installing the IMG file from the boot loader, I have tried using android flasher, and I have tried using the RUU programs. And I either get one of two responses, either The phone starts up with the usuall sounds but its a black screen the phone seems to have started up as the USB light comes on and when you press the screen on button the buttons at the bottom of the phone light up. OR I get stuck in a bootloop on the white HTC screen. where am I going wrong all I need is the desire back to some form of stock.
when I go into the bootloader it shows
BRAVO PVT3 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-6.93.1002
RADIO-5.11.01.27
I do have a goldcard installed in the phone.
Recovery, wipe/factory reset, wipe eveything and flash stock rom. Im sure you will be able to download stock rom from xda.

Thank you for pointing it out, I was just trying to get help putting this phone back to standard and added as much information so I could get quick assistance. Apart from to point out a mistake on my part do you have anything to add to this thread? such as a solution??
All sorted, HBoot downgraded, Stock RUU installed but turning it into a PB99IMG file, happy day. Thanks JMCCLUE for your suggestions.

[Q] TAMPERED, RELOCKED, Security Warning, NO Recovery works but stock ROM works!

[SOLVED]
As you can see in the title I have a lot going on.
I followed the correct steps to unlock the bootloader and it was successful as at one point I saw:
***TAMPERED***
***UNLOCKED***
Right off the bat I don't understand the reason for the "tampered" flag, but moving on...
For the record here is the other info below exactly as I see it:
EVITA PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.09.0000
RADIO-0.16a.32.09.06
OpenDSP-v25.1.0.32.0405
eMMC-boot
Apr 2 2012,21:08:24
After trying to flash different version of CWM Recovery with NO luck, I was stuck in a bootloop. Rebooted to FASTBOOT, erased cache, stock ROM loaded right away. At this point, every time I tried to flash ANY recovery (stock or CWM), I'd get the following message:
"This build is for developement purposes only Do not distribute outisde of HTC without HTC's written permission. Failure to comply may result in legal action."
And then it would proceed to a bootloop. I can't even use "FACTORY RESET" or get to the stock recovery, haven't been able to since the beginning.
At this point I thought to try "fastboot oem lock" and try again. That's precisely when I started to get this at the top of HBOOT:
***TAMPERED***
***RELOCKED***
***Securty Warning***
(Security Warning seems to come and go as it pleases at different times when accessing HBOOT, very awkward)
The interesting thing is, through all of this (as long as the phone allowed me to or as long as I erased cache through fastboot), the stock ROM (Rogers in Canada) actually works perfectly fine. I can boot into it no problem. But now I'm stuck with this odd issue inside of HBOOT and I don't know what to do to make it work. I found a bit of info suggesting that I could have a developer version of the phone if I'm getting that message following a recovery install. Keep in mind though this wasn't shipped to me, I got it from a retail store. Very odd.
Any insight regarding this would be greatly appreciated. I'm not bricked at the moment so that's nice, but I definitely would like to figure this out.
Thank you!
Can I ask you where did you get this phone from ?
I have gotten these messages alot when i had bricked my phone a while ago ...
Security warning always occured in HBoot when my battery was below 30%
Legal notice showed up when i tried booting custom Rom with a stock Recovery.
As long as it is relocked, try using a matching RUU. Make sure Battery is charged as much as possible. Also see Thread "Disaster Recovery" here in the forums

Evita is the code name for HTC One XL.
Really eh? I got it from Best Buy Mobile but it's a Rogers device. Advertised as the One X but yeah on GSM Arena it actually is the One XL. I'm guessing it's more or less exactly the same as the One X...for custom ROMs and what not...hopefully. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong!
In any case, I'm going to try to flash a shipped RUU (if I can download it from filefactory, error messages so far) then try to flashboot CWM again and see how that goes.

Thank you. Sorry mods please move this when possible.
I did make sure to download the correct EVITA ROM, it's flashing as we speak.
EDIT:
I should have tried the CWM version in that thread before flashing stock ROM. Oh well, better to start from a clean state anyhow.
DONE guys thank you very much for the info. Installed the correct version of CWM, rebooted, back to HBOOT, done. TAMPERED is there but as outlined in the thread that's normal. Now, on to flashing!

Because your device is an Htc One X not an Htc One XL. Only One XL will show tampered flag.

I too have the same problem with my HTC One X from Rogers (or I thought it was HTC One X, from what I read here it could be an XL!).
Would you please step through the process you used to get CWM installed. I have TWRP presently installed.

[Q] HTC Wildfire S not booting up

I searched the forum for such an incident and even though there were similar incidents none of them could help me see where i was going wrong. The phone was sent to get its screen replaced and the idiots at vodafone reflashed it. Ever since it refuses to pass the HTC screen. It can still go to bootloader and flash mode. I tried the simple method of putting the .zip on the SD card but it tells me CID error, I honestly dont want to send this back to vodafone i fear if it returns this time it might explode if i try to turn it on.
Summary:
1. Phone wont pass the HTC screen
2. Tried the simple reformatting method
3. ?
Any insight to this puzzle would be greatly appreciated
thanks
do you know your cid? if you do you have to open the file you're trying to flash and edit the text file that needs your cid

no i dont, and the methods of obtaining it i saw in the similar instances required the use of a CID getting app, but this requires the phone to be on and booted, which it cant do
Have you unlocked your bootloader? If you have, boot into the bootloader, enable fastboot and flash ClockworkMod Recovery, then install a ROM.
The bootloader doesnt seem to be unlocked, i'll look into it and post the results thanks
Ok by some miracle the phone is now booting but i want to ensure its stability I used the CID getter app and the CID is [VODAP102] please tell me where specifically to pop this in the readme file in the zip
I put the CID number in the android-info text file everywhere i saw that it needed a CID number and it goes to bootloader checks the .zip then return to the hboot main screen :/

Still havent made any progress, once again my plea is for assistance with this quandry
I also tried flashing ClockWorkMod Recovery and it put me back to the bootloader screen
Ok, I have been doing some reading and it seems this can be solved by making a goldcard and flashing from it, or by unlocking the bootloader, I tried both of these procedures with the relevant guides found on this site. I am now lost and confused to wether i should still try to fix it or jus throw it into a wall

I live in Jamaica but the HTC Wildfire S i got is from Vodafone Germany. I would allow you to do remote access but i wish to understand this process as I am getting a HTC G1 soon which I want to MOD the hell out off
You say that ever since Vodafone sent your phone back, your phone hasn't been booting ? First thing to do is send it back to them, if you're absolutely certain it's their fault.

Factory resetting a rooted Htc one x

I traded my rooted galaxy nexus for a rooted htc one x. Before I got his htc one x, he performed a factory reset on his phone.
After I got home I realized that his contacts, his accounts and all his apps were still there. I did a factory reset again but they are still there.
Is there a way to completely wipe everything off it? I do want to keep the root on though if possible (because I want to keep it unlocked).
When I go in the recovery mode this is what I see.
****Tampered***
****Unlocked***
Evita pvt ship s-on rl
HBOOT
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
FACTORY RESET
CELAR STORAGE
SIMLOCK
IMAGE CRC
POWER DOWN
Will clearing the storage help?
@Op,
Some time ago somebody told me here on the board that if you factory reset your phone using recovery mode it
will wipe the storage as well, that it's different as factory reset in OS settings where the storage is kept.
I think you need to wipe storage indeed to remove the contacts.
Can you please let me know when you decide to factory reset the phone in recovery mode the storage get wiped too?
I didn't have time to test this and I'm very curious if it does.
Thanks a lot.

I tried to do that half an hour ago. It was stuck on htc logo with this paragraph underneath for almost 10 minutes until my patience ran out "This build is for development purpose only.......legal action."
I'm trying that again now and I'll let you know what happens.
Nope, don't do that please.
If you like to wipe the storage I think the best you can do is use settings/storage in OS to accomplish.
Before you do I would like to advise you to make a backup of Clockworkmod directory (copy it to your pc) on your storage if that exist.
So incase something happens you are still able to restore.

Thanks but I have no idea which method the other guy used to root this phone. Stuff like rom Manager, super SU and Titanium backup are already installed in the phone. When I go to Rom manager and try to "Manage and Restore Backups" or "Backup current ROM" it asks me to install clockworkmod recovery first. However, when I try to do that it gives me a list of Phone models to choose from and HTC one X is not in that list.
When I went through the link you provided it says "Your bootloader must be unlocked via htcdev.com to use these solutions." Now how do I know if it's unlock via htcdev.com or not? How do I check?
It must be unlocked already otherwise there wasn't a custom rom on the phone.
But you can verify that by going into bootloader, it should say 'unlocked'
SuperSU is needed to root the phone so that's normal as well.
And about Clockworkmod, it must be there as well otherwise you couldn't get into recovery.
My advise, go into recovery and make a backup first.
If that's done you can copy the Clockworkmod dir from your storage to your pc to make sure you have a valid backup.
Then you can wipe the storage and after that is done you place back the Clockworkmod dir.
From there you can look further and flash another custom rom or what you want.

keep holding down the volume down and power button until you get into bootloader. from there, u can tell whether it is unlocked or not, also, might as well check if it reads endeavor or evita, to make sure whether u have the dual core or quad core 1x, from there on, if unlocked check if u can go into recovery from the fastboot menu. if not then u know which step ull have to begin at, if yes, then u can start flashing right away. Btw, recovery as in a custom recovery such as clockworkmod or twrp.

[Q] Won't boot :(

I've looked through the htc one v forums and found similar problems, but not mine.
& I'm on Virgin Mobile USA. Got this phone on Black Friday. Didn't use until December.
My phone refuses to boot. I was having trouble with 'no service', so I figured it would be easy enough to just restart my phone, give it the old off-on and it should be fine.
However, it would show the htc screen for six seconds, then black six seconds. Over and over and over.
So, I hit the down volume and power to bring up the boot screen.
I've tried powering down and even attempted factory reset.
It kept doing the six seconds between screens.
I haven't tried rooting it, changing the rom, bootloading it, or any of that other stuff.
I just tried to restart it.
Now, it will not work.
:crying::crying:
Please help me.
Thank you.

I haven't even been using it a full two months.
I'm very unhappy.
If the phone is still full stock, not rooted, never unlocked bootloader, then call Virgin Mobile and get a replacement. You have a full one year warranty. Just tell them the phone won't even boot and they will send you a replacement with a prepaid return envelope to send the broken one back to them.

Call Virgin Mobile, not HTC?
It's all still stock. I've never rooted or unlocked anything.
Send it to HTC,they gave you a phone having defects. They must see into this.
If he is with Virgin, he will get the replacement faster than waiting waiting on HTC to repair it and send it back. When my old Optimus V broke, I had my replacement in my hands in three days. He has a one year warranty, Virgin will replace the phone.
