I have extracted all of the UI sounds, alarms, notifications, and ringtones out of the new Android 4.1 build for the Galaxy Nexus. Feel free to use these as you see fit. Enjoy!

Try root explorer copy the files after extraction from new folder and paste it in system media folder merge is what I did

strange zip file, latest version of 7-zip was unable to extract the ogg files, but winrar was able to
Thanks Mate. will this work with stock rom + Rooted ?
Thanks mate
This will work with stock ROM or any other ROM. To use, merge the files as suggested above.

I extracted the files from each folder and using root explorer I moved them to system/media/audio/alarms,notifications and ringtone folders but when I go to settings>sound>device ringtone>choose android system, I still get only the default choices. The new ones are not there.
I have cf root 6.3 and stock rom LF6.

Did you set permissions rw-r-r?
And there is another method just create a media folder with all these files in your sd card

extract using 7zip
7zip don't work even if we change extension of those .md5 files.
You may have to deodex your rooted stock rom to work for custom rom....
Check my signature guide is there.

I have to go back to stock 4.2.2? Isn't there a way I can create space in my internal memory, cos my apps are large in it..
How much big apps are they.. Because most of the apps are less than 100 mb... If. U want play big games then u can move their respective data to ur external sd card..... And if u want to move data u can use GL TO SD app...
