Few questions :
Bought a 64Gig Transcend card and it was formatted EXFat. Works fine with stock kernel but when using dual boot kernel it wont see the card. Then formatted it in windows with Fat32 and both partitions see it in dual boot. Then tried script to make it the internal (swap internal/external) but now it shows only 32gig. If I use only single boot kernel it works fine.
Is there a way to get dualboot kernel to see EXFat or at least to see fat32 and be able to use total 64gig with memory swap?
Not 100% sure but I'm going to try myself. If you format it ntfs you should be able to use paragon to mount it. It works on aosp roms and I have been told it works on the dual boot kernel

I had same issue, the dualboot kernel does not support exfat or fat32...not sure on NTFS but totally recommend Paragon

I recently started experimenting with usb otg and I'm checking every device if they are identified and how they are identified.
I also tried a an Exfat formatted usb memory. The device is identified but the file system is not. Then I thought if the performance of sdcard partition may be positively affected if it's formatted as Exfat. Copy speeds are still a problem even in ICS.
When I made some research, I found out that there are hardware level solutions for Exfat compatibility. However, some people claim Exfat support with custom roms for other devices.
Do you think this can be achieved with the kernel for KF and can we use it for the sdcard partition?
hmmm not sure, but it sounds cool.

From what I've seen so far this would be a FUSE module if ever so it need ROM support. From a purely kernel build, a read only version is feasible but then that would be useless in my opinion.
I've only got fat32 to mount. exfat and ntfs definitely dont work out of the box

Works here on a 8 gig sandisk
I've formatted it to NTSF before putting files on it. It still doesn't read. I tried it on my PC and it works fine.
Any ideas?
you want it to be formatted as exFAT. as far as i know, our phone does not support ntfs.

I thought exFAT wasn't a good format, and often corrupts?
I want to convert it to fat32 now.
Fat32 will work. Exfat wi only work with stock kernels and ntfs won't work with almost any kernels except like two from kt.

Yes and No -- NTFS
Yep, I'm having the same trouble with my 64GB NTFS sd card with this G-Pad. On the other hand, I can assure you that NTFS formatted cards will work with Android. I've been using my 64-GB NTFS sdCard in my Sasmung Tab 3 8" for the last 4 months with no problem (CM11 4.4.2 the entire time). The card became corrupted a couple months back and I chose to reformat in NTFS and it hasn't had a single problem until I just bought his G Pad. I can reformat it - I just need to find out which way is the best.

Like you said, you used CM, which has root and drivers to read NTFS cards. In G Pad, you have three options: install CM, root G Pad or format in exfat.
NTFS - exFAT
I have the same problem NTFS or exFAT do not work: (I have slimkat Rom 4.4.2 but unfortunately, one form of which we are going sou Fat16 Fat32: (
Edit : helped change the kernal?
NTFS is not enabled in the kernel for the GPad gpe, and so probably not in the other versions either. There is limited support by default in the kernels for NTFS, allowing only read, and not write access, and limited file sizes as well. Therefore no point in enabled it for our device without adding code to the kernel.
The 64 gig Sandisk card has issues with exfat. Google to find out why, or search in these threads to learn more. Fat32 works fine on every card and should be your go-to default partition type.
There are kernels associated with different Roms or devices which support NTFS.
Ditched NTFS for exFAT

Ahh. I gotcha. I temporarily dumped 40GB of SD contents onto my PC, reformatted the card as exFAT, and the stock G Pad picked up my 64GB Samsung SD perfectly. Thanks.
Has anyone tried Paragon exFAT, NTFS & HFS+ on a stock (but rooted) V500 ?
I'm trying to get it to work in order to store a numer of 5 Gb files on the SD card.
Paragon says the HFS+ card is mounted but the size is not correct.
I can store small files but it the 32Gb card seems to have only ±200 Mb in ES file explorer.
Formatting it again in paragon in either HFS or NTSF seems to make no difference.
Not sure why you need this. You should be able to format the card with exFat directly in Windows and use on the G Pad. I have a few cards, all in exFat format with several large movies on them (5GB+). All working fine with no need for 3rd party app.

Thanks, that worked fine :good:
I wasn't aware of exfat solving the file size issue; I normally use a mac so exfat wasn't first thing on my mind.
Correction, 'that enables to display a different screen at one device.

I reccently bought a 32gb kingston class 10 mmc. After inserting in my phone, it is showing mmc corrupted, tap to fix. No matter how many times I format, the same happened. For a couple of minutes it is reading and after a few minutes its showing corrupt error.
I am shocked to see that the files in Internal storage are hidden. My Music player showing no Music. My gallery not displaying more than half of the files. Even the locked image files in gallery are not shown. Someone in this forums said me to change the kernel.
Could anyone help me with the above issue? If kernel changing is the only solution, then which is the best kernel for LG LS990(Sprint)?
Thanku
Hi. What I found was the issue is only with the kingston mmc. Dnt know why, but it is the issue with. The kingston mmc is working fine in other phones except in fulmics. Bought sandisk 32gb class 10 and the card is working superfine in fulmics.
So for the guys who r facing issues with mmc, better change the mmc and check. Dnt buy kingston if you are using custom roms as i came to know lot of users are facing same issue only with kingston. ??

Fulmics has an issue with exFAT but not FAT32. Format the SD card to FAT32. The Kingston SD card is probably exFAT and the Sandisk SD card is probably FAT32, I had to install a custom kernel to get my 64GB SD card to work as FAT32 is limited to 32GB and smaller SD cards.

I use solid kernel but xceed kernel is great as well. All you need to do is download the right version for your phone, in twrp wipe cache and dalvak cache, then flash the kernel and boot into Android, that's it, it's very easy, just make sure you make a backup.

Thanks, will do! Any settings in the kernel you had to manipulate to get the sd card to run?

Nope. If it says it's corrupt after a reboot just remove the card and put it back in and it will work ( that's a MM bug on most ROMs and kernels).

The same as the SD card issue I had, however some people report fixes for the same issue they've described that haven't worked for me. Eventually messing around I came with a fix and I posted it here in a reply to my own thread on it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/help/lg-d855-sd-card-corrupt-issue-t3393511
Just offering another solution I know works at least in one case but, no guarantee its the exact same issue

We can also format 64 gb mmc wid fat32 file system. Im using verizon model and it is not supported by xceed kernel and with solid kernel i face wake up lag on fulmics 5.3 rom. So i just just googled how to format mmc with fat32 file system. Now im using my Samsung 64gb card on fulmics 5.3 without any hassle of custom kernel.

The issue there is that FAT32 is not meant for storage devices larger than 32GB. And the so called "hassle" of a custom kernel is a personal opinion, I have been using custom kernels for some time and prefer them to stock kernels. It's not hard to flash a custom kernel anyway.
