Like in dead trigger you can set the settings and stuff, will those backup?
And also will my Next launcher 3d homepages and widgets and folders etc. backup too?

Hey buddy next time Questions go in the Q & A. Not trying to be a Smart a$$. Anyways it will. Just make sir in T.B. that app data is checked. And yes your launcher will back up. You just might have to restore your widgets. It doesn't take that long to restore in T.B. Just depends on how many apps you got. Hope this helps you.
Don't forget to hit Thanks when someone helps you

Quick and easy question...

Okay I enjoy rooting my phone and changing Roms all the time but I just have a quick question. I play homerun battle 3d a lot and I'm addicted to getting far in the game however everytime I flash a new Rom my data is erased now the question is how do I go about saving the data and restoring it after a Rom flash off about my other apps just this one. I know everyone is going to say titanium backup but how do I go about saving and restoring it thanks for the help
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Titanium. Use the batch backup and batch restore functions for your apps + data. When you restore, you need to reboot your phone to let the system data populate.
I don't want to backup all my apps just that one game and its data. And when I flash a Rom do I install as usual then restore or do I just go to titanium and it'll set everything up itself
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Don't install it first, just use titanium to restore that app+data. You won't lose a thing. HRB3D is awesome, I completely understand your concerns.
THANKS and my final question is do I need to have titanium backup pro to back up data or is the free one good enough
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
The free one will do it. The only difference between the two versions that I have noticed is the batch restore on the paid version is set it and forget it, whereas the free version you have to hit ok for every. single. freaking. app that you want to restore.
Oh okay thanks that's no problem for ne I just need to save that game the rest I can download fresh thanks so much saved ne so much playing and replaying of the samething

I don't like titanium. MyBackup works better IMO.

I've heard a few people say that. What does MyBackup do that Titanium doesn't? Or what does it do better?
Much more user friendly IMO.
You can choose to backup your data and then deselect anything that you don't want to backup (ie. text messages, call log, bookmarks, etc.).
and/or
You can choose to backup your apps and then deselect any that you don't want to backup. It will then ask you if you want to backup apps, app data, or apps and app data.
It has a free 30 day trial.......try it out.

Well you can do that with titanium too. I will admit though, it's not a very user friendly app, at least not at first. It took me a minute to figure out how to use it. I will check out MyBackup though on your recommendation. It's always good to have multiple options. Thanks!

FC Launcher Pro Backup Notes?

Phone randomly got FC's on launcher pro whenever I try to go to the Homepage, so it is barely usable at the moment. Like a dummy I haven't done any nandroid backup in the last few months, but i want to save my notes from the NOTES app. I keep a little log of ideas and notes that I will lose the last few months worth if I can't figure out how to salvage it. ANyone have any clue? If anyone can recommend a way to save the SMS's and Shazam stuff as well it would be a bonus
My problem is I can't get to any of my programs since the homepage won't load up, but I can get into my SMS's if I go to my contacts and sms from there. I did do a SMS backup to my computer with some program called MobileGo. It seems pretty thorough, but I haven't tested since I'm waiting to restore my phone until after I get my notes. Thanks!
I can view my SD card files easily but I can't seem to get it to browse my internal storage...unless i'm forgetting something I assume that is where my notes would be?? Need help...
Pay version or free. Always found the pay version more stable

Free Version...I assume since I never paid for it.
Yeah always had weird issues with free version

I have learned my lesson, but I hope I can still save the notes...Any idea where I can backup the files or what directory they might be stored in?
Sent you my code I don't use it anymore since I'm on cm9. See if it helps

Also try loading a different launcher like adw. All the home screen is a shortcut to your app drawer.

Good idea...any idea how I can install it if I can't get to programs or homepage or the market etc? I can use voice commands, make calls, text or look at my contacts and use some apps that come up by themselves like facebook, craigslist etc.
If any mod can move this to the Q and A forum...I thought I was posting there, but obviously not...
i bought it form gypsies selling small shaved heads and under appreciated tech

do you have titanium back up?
if you do go into that fin luancher pro and clear the data
Can you walk me through the steps...I can't get to any homepage or open up programs so not sure how I would get into titanium backup or launcher pro. If we could just figure out where notes stores its data I could back that up then do a fresh install and drag and replace the new one with the old, I assume.
First do a nandroid back up from cwm assuming your rooted. That way nothing that is done to it can't be reversed. Second what actually happens when you reboot the phone?

I am rooted and can do a nandroid backup from cwm...When I boot up the phone it loads everything then force closes constantly when launcher pro tries to load...I can cheat past to make calls if i press the home button quickly and tap the phone icon. I'll do the backup now.
Backup successful...Am i wrong to assume if I do a clean install and reinstall my ACS rom all succesful then restore my nandroid backup that my notes will be restored? If not then I'll do that and thanks. Otherwise, I'm still trying to save my notes. Bumpsky
You can try. Asking as you have back your now in a position that you can experiment. When you boot the phone does it immediately crash. Can you get to the app drawer. Then to market. Then titanium backup. Backup notes app and data. Reflash then restore notrs

Just spitballing here but can't you download another home launcher like zeam from a computer... it'll push it to your phone and when its done downloading press home key and set that one as your main launcher.... then delete the faulty one and reinstall it?
You could try reflashing your rom clean and doing an advanced data restore in cwm. Not sure if that would work but it's worth a shot.
Edit: also i believe there is a way to restore apps from a nandroid in titanium if you flash clean. I've never done it, but I've read about people doing that.

Restoring app data in CM9 help

I know restoring data from system apps with TB will cause problems but is it ok to restore data from all my none system apps with TB. If so how do i do it without accidentally restoring system data? I have data i would like to restore like shazam or Mr. Number so if anyone can help it would be great. I posted this question in the CM9 thread but no one was able to give a answer

Probably because its simple. Do you know how to use TB at all? There is a button that says restore next to your app but just keep in mind you had to of backed it up at one time.
I mean seriously did you click backup restore option at the top then click the app and see options to restore or backup. OK one last thing why not just go to TB web page for help or better yet Google...smdh

i gave you the answer in the cm9 thread. you even quoted it.
people like him and i give the responses we give to get people like you to think about the scenario a bit and to use your head so that you're not reliant on someone else answering a question that you wouldn't have to ask had you took the initiative play with the app for 3 minutes to figure it out yourself.
if you used TB, then you would see the "restore missing apps with data" and the "restore all system data" options. it's pretty clear what the correct option would be for your case. since the first one doesn't say "system", but the second one does explicitly says "system", then it's quite obvious that the option to go with is the one that doesn't say "system". when you choose the "restore missing apps with data" option, it lists all non-system apps. from there, it comes down to hand-eye coordination and an IQ higher than 30 to not click on a non-system app or to click on only certain apps that you want restored. all you have to do is play around with the app a little bit to figure it out.

[Q] How do you backup & restore Titanium Backup app settings?

I use Titanium Backup all the time. But one thing I have not yet figured out is this.
I flash a new ROM.
Go to Play Store and download Titanium Backup & License.
I restore all my apps (including Titanium).
But none of the settings I've set up for Titanium Backup are restored?
I have to go through the menu and re-do all my preferences, etc. for TB.
What am I doing wrong?
Its the first option under the preferences menu.

confirmed this does nothing, hit the option, played around on thunderbird opening and closing, even killing, no such backup file is ever created. I wipe and load up a new titanium app, use the setting, but nothing happens.
so this def does not work, does anyone know of a way that does work, maybe this time with instructions on where to find this ghost settings file?
thanks!

Yeah it's been working great for me also.
Are you using the free or paid version of TB? I have the paid version and maybe that is a requirement.

Software suggestions for a complete backup?

We are using Tabs in a hospital for health information. They have some kind of locking software but for what ever reason, it got turned of one of the tabs and someone deleted apps and shortcuts. The coordinator is asking for backup software that backs up everything, not just what Google wants to back up (ie. her health info shortcuts).
Titanium backup used to be the best...is that still the case?
Thanks.

Titanium need root I think, Helium does not. I don't know which is better but those are the top choices I think.

Backup in samsung cloud? Or smartswitch? Both have worked for me. Settings>cloud & accounts
Still not really sure what you want backed up but assuming you get all your apps and data backed up with Google, you can backup your shortcuts using the backup/restore in third party launchers, Nova, Action launcher, and others have this ability.
