Does anyone have this issue? After about 60hrs of reboot Google Now just stops to display any cards and it is just blank with the google searchbar on top...
I have Google Now enabled and never had this issue before. Tried clearing cache and app data and that doesn't fix the issue. Only reboot helps. This is annoying. Any help is appreciated. I am running stock Android 4.3 (no root).
Thank you!

Ive had this happen before. I dont really know what causes it, it just fixes itself usually. I did, however, find that at one point I had both of my devices with Google Now and they had different settings enabled and it was messing up what was shown. That was a while ago and I think the settings sync now. But you never know. If you have two devices, try that. Also, you can try to clear the data for the app and see if it fixes it.
I have tried clearing the app data and that didn't do much. Still having the issue. I will check the settings on my tablet for Google Now, maybe you are right and this is what causes my problems. Thanks for the idea-will give it a try.
It's generally "normal" I think.
I really wish Google would give us more control over Now... Soon?

I'm also experiencing this "issue". I use Galaxy Note II and CarbonRom 1.8 here. Decided to search Google for this and found this thread.
I thought it was due to a lot of ROM flashing I was doing here, so maybe it eventually messed up my Google account info on servers and made my Google Now became empty some times, but I realized that probably it's some technical difficulties on Google Now server itself, since it's happening with more people.
Let's hope for an update to solve this. It's pretty annoying!

Did this issue get resolved for you? I have found the problem and I temporary fix.
The issue is related to the new Google play services 3.2..they changed location to use wifi as Android 4.3 has it on at all times.. This is to save power from using GpS.. Anyway if your not running 4.3 and have wifi on all the time your location based cards will not work...
The solution, downgrade to Google play services 3.1 Everything works great on 3.1..

This issue got solved by itself here, but thanks for the tip anyway!
By the way, I'm using 4.2 here and in fact I don't have wifi enabled all the time. Need to say also that Google Now in Brazil is not sooo much great, it does not have so many services, only the basic ones, so maybe it had something to do with Brazilian Google servers issues on that time.

Anyone else experience this? I'm currently using CM7, but I've seen this across other ROMS and even when stock. Using Google maps even for a second results in it staying open in the background and chewing up battery (I get warnings from Watchdog). I have to use Watchdog to force close the app to fix the problem. Doesn't seem like this should be happening.
Yes, GPS is off. Location by network is on, so maybe that's to blame?
Yeah I turned network location off too and my battery has improved dramaticly. Maps turns on anytime something requires location services ie location based weather services that what my issue was.

But I don't have the problem unless I've actively opened Maps... it doesn't spontaneously open. I also kinda want network location to be on as I find it useful...
Unfortunately this seems to be a fairly common problem on the dinc. Some people have solved it by downgrading maps to an earlier version. I haven't found any other fixes though.

Oh man that's unfortunate. I have no intention of downgrading Maps, that seems like a ghetto fix. I guess I'll just have to be aware of when I use it and make sure I back out of it afterward. Otherwise, Watchdog does a pretty good job of letting me know when it needs to be closed. Just annoying.
I had a similar problem also, not rooted just stock. I had just upgraded to Maps 5.1 from whatever Maps version came with the phone. I found that Maps would be running in the background using 90% of my battery. My solution... Factory Reset... yeah a little much, but I had just got the phone and didn't really care. My phone was acting up all sorts of ways though, missing apps, missing widgets, so I did a factory reset. Now after that I have downloaded the new version of Maps and everything is fine. Hope you figure it out and don't have to do a Factory Reset.
Took me quite some time to figure this one out, thought I should post it here in case anyone else has a similar problem.
When I updated to Android 4.1.2, I noticed that my Google Navigation stopped working. It would simply sit there endlessly "Waiting for location..." Fortunately, there's a simple fix:
1. Go to "Settings > Accounts > Google > Location Settings".
2. Flip the switch to "On" (I found this was off in my case).
3. Try Google Navigation again, it should work fine.
I'm not sure why Google decided to break up the location settings into two different places like this, but it's a bit silly IMO as it's definitely going to catch some people out.
You probably cleared the Google Services Framework at some point. When you do that, it disables location services.
Makes sense. It's still a good thing to let people know about it.
It's good to know that I wasn't the only one with this issue factory reset did the thing for me.

hi
My issue is different.
After the update I am not able to download updates from Google play.
It tells me that the connection to the server has been timed out.

Any ideas?
The issue with GPS was present on update from ics to jb as well and also on 4.0 to 4.0.x and fix was the same as you described it switch on and off location service

In my case it was actually that the location service for Google apps was switched off by default after the update. I didn't need to cycle it or anything, just simply switch it on.

Not sure how to fix that. Are you sure you have an internet connection on your phone? You might need to use the "Clear Data" option, rather than just "Clear Cache".
Hey, man, thanks a lot, I've been banging my head for 6 hours until I found your post. I was minutes away from resetting my phone to factory defaults. You saved me a lot of trouble. Kudos to you!

Might be it is sync ur gallery with fb photos. Uninstall app and reinstall.
I'm experiencing this exact problem, also initiated on its own. I uninstalled and reinstalled Facebook but that did not affect the perpetual downloading of this. Nor have several phone restarts, etc.

solution!!!
I don't know you already fix this problem or not.
I searched several site and finally got an answer for this problem.
Just connect WiFi and let it do whatever it want.
Before I found this, I tried several things;
1. restarted my phone
2. pulled out battery and put back
3. killed the process from task manager
4. removed FB account
5. removed FB app from my phone (actually, back to previous version) and update again
Non of these helped me ever!!!
Also, this problem is not device specific. (I realize it after googling it)
I mean various devices and locations had the same issue.
Anyway, good luck!!!

Thanks. Connecting it to wifi did allow it to finish the unending installation very quickly. That was annoying and I'd like to know why an update initiated on its own, seemingly from within the app and not through the Play store (I do not have any auto-updates allowed, especially for social media apps), and drained my battery while it looped an install process that was apparently constantly seeking a wifi signal to complete.
Thanks a lot!!

I started having this issue today on my Galaxy Tab 2. The only solution people found on different forums is ti turn on WiFi. It'll immediately start downloading and would get installed (Probably due to its size it does not want to be downloaded on 3G/4G). Although I don't feel very comfortable installing this, Does not feel very genuine to me.
Did any one else had this problem? or any issues after installing it?
I had to switch to Wifi about 3 or 4 times and then it finally downloaded. It tried to download all of last night and killed the battery. In the mean time my phone has switched to using Edge instead of 4g and no matter how many times I switch Airplane mode on/off or restart the phone I can't get my 4g back. Think it is just a local problem? I've got a S3 on T-mobile in Orange County, CA.
I'm running Liquid Smooth 2.5 and have just found that anytime I try and use voice search the microphone icon glows as if it is recognizing but as soon as it goes to search it just errors out with "Cannot reach Google at the moment". Has anyone else encountered this and are there any suggested fixes? I found some threads of making sure the device date and time is correct. It is. Interestingly I just tried on my rooted stock N7 and same thing... Yet I also just tried on my wife's Asus TF300t and it is working properly... I've checked all google account settings I can think of and can't see anything abnormal.
Thanks in advance for any help.

What color are you signal bars? Grey = No connection to Google, Blue = Connection to Google
Try clearing data for the Google Framework
Signal bars are blue both on wifi and on data with good signal. I just tried clearing Google Services Framework... No go still unfortunately. Thanks for the suggestion however.

I will try refreshing Gapps when I get a chance but the thing that has me puzzled is why my stock rooted N7 is doing the same thing. I can't help but think it is an issue with my account or something. I haven't changed any settings recently that I know of. if it was just a Gapps issue I would have thought it would be isolated to just my SGS3. It isn't likely a location issue as my Wife's tablet is working fine.... Definitely confused...
Again thanks for any and all suggestions

Remove and Re-add your google account on the affected devices.
Just to try I added my wife's account into Google now and tried voice searching with her account from my N7 and it didn't work either. It works from her tablet. I think this means it is not a ROM issue but rather a settings or similar issue. I will try a Gapps refresh later to see what happens. If anyone else has experienced this regardless of whether there is a fix I'd be curious to know. if others have I may submit it to Google. if it is just a weird issue for me I'd rather try working through it.

I've been having this problem too with an HTC One on a Sense-based custom ROM, and a HTC Evo 4G LTE both stock and custom. I've found better success uninstalling the updates to the Google Search app though it's still slower than it used to be. Some more people have talked about it here... http://forums.androidcentral.com/go...-google-moment-while-online-voice-typing.html
Doesn't seem like there's much of a solution or acknowledgment by Google that there's a problem.
I fixed the issue!! On a hunch I decided to delete my Google account from the phone completely. I then booted to recovery and cleared cache and dalvik. Rebooted and added my Google account back in... it is now working as it used to. If anyone else is having the issue I would recommend trying this and see if it helps you as well.
Almost forgot but I'd really like to thank everyone who contributed ideas and thoughts!
I just verified this fixed my N7 as well!

My impression from searches on Google's forums is that this is a fairly prevalent problem. I don't know what causes it, but I've seen it on S4s, too. I just wanted to add that, anecdotally, I tried clearing the cache (though not dalvik) and removing the Google account, to no avail; however, I found a much simpler solution:
Settings, My Device, Language and input
Change Voice recognizer from Google to something else (in my case Samsung powered by Vlingo)
(Optional) Change Voice recognizer back to Google
This resolved the issue for me, please let me know if it works for others (I don't need a thumbs-up or anything, I'm honestly just curious if it's that simple and we're making it out to be more difficult.)

Whatever works, I guess!
Here it is in a nutshell: Error 927 on ANY download, any app, any game, be it paid or free, on my Nexus 7 (2013) FHD. I've done the following:
- Cleared the data and cache for the Google Play Store, Download Manager, and Google Services Framework.
- Uninstalled updates for the Google Play Store and Google Services Framework.
- Deleted and re-added my Google account.
- Rebooted.
- Hard reset.
- Downgraded to 4.3 and re-upgraded to 4.4.2.
- Tried to download the apps and games from the Google Play website, and get "An unexpected error has occured. Please try again later."
- Changed the filter and proxy settings on my Cisco router.
- Switched to LTE, and... same thing.
- Created another Google account, and it worked, but I will NOT be forced to re-purchase the apps I've spent nearly $80.00 on over the years, or upload my music collection to Google Music again.
- Reached out to Google for help, and... crickets.
I'm at the end of my rope. If this isn't resolved soon, I'm returning the Nexus to Wal-Mart. I've NEVER had this sort of issue before, even with my first-generation Nexus 7. I've had Android tablets since my Motorola Xoom awhile back. I've ALWAYS had Android tablets. I'd hate to have to abandon Android because of this idiocy, but I may have to do so. I don't want to have to go with Apple for both my smartphone and tablet, but it's starting to look that way.
If anyone has any suggestions that aren't listed above, please, help me out. I love my Nexus 7, but without apps and games, it's pretty worthless.
Thanks in advance.
Normally deleting and adding back the Google account is a solution for Play Store problems, but as you said, you tried that. Some have reported that error 927 is because of a network connection error. How is web browsing? YouTube?

How did you do that? Did you download the 4.3 ROM to flash it? Did you unlock and flash a custom recovery?
When all else fails, flash the stock ROM, especially with your downgrading and upgrading. Google's files include a "flash-all.bat" within that will wipe everything and flash the stock ROM and recovery.

All web browsing and pre-installed apps work just fine. Just any attempts to update those apps, or install any other apps from Google Play, fail with error 927.

I actually have flashed the stock ROMs, from the original 4.3 to 4.4.2, with the exact same results. I've also made certain not to unlock the bootloader and to not root as to recreate the OOB experience as well. At this point, my options are exhausted.

I have the same problem. Ran across this thread doing a search for the error 927. Running a Verizon HTC One and an LG G Pad 8.3. Both have the same problems, and i too have called Google several times. Their answer was to call HTC. I was livid. I changed my password, but was only a temporary fix until I made a purchase from the Play store. Then the error came back. I realize i am in the Nexus 7 forums but wanted to chime in since the problem is happening to me too. Hopefully Google comes up with a fix. Too much money tied up to just create new account, which does work by the way.
Creating a new account shouldn't even be an option what it the issue happens on the new account? Google just needs to fix it.

The issue affects every device I log into with my account. Originally showed rpc:s-7 error, now 927.
Anyone with this problem find a solution? Again, I've done everything the op posted. In the past I've been able to correct the problem. But this time, no go.
Have the same problem... In every device I'm using with my account... 3 tablets, 2 cell phones. Spent more than 400 dollars in apps.. Can't download, nor even update. Always error 927. Changed password and problem persists.. It's obviously a problem with my account.. Wonder what could I do.
Have you tried installing apps from Google Play on a computer?
Hello, just an update...
My problem has gone... Seems it was from google side.
Too bad I had to flash my cel 3 times before I realized it was happening to all my devices.
Don't know if the password change had anything to do with the fix since, at least, it didn't work immediately.
If you encounter the same problem don't panic... give it a little time, hopefully it fixes on its own.
Thank you very much.
