I am really digging Moto X's screen lock animation. Is there a way to pull it off the Moto X system dump or something and put it on Gnex?
I'm no Dev, but probably...

No. On the Gnex, the screen sort of collapses, whereas on the Moto X, the screen fades off. I like that.

download xposed then download Modaco toolkit, then disable crt off effect, you will get the fade away animation like moto x

Alternatively depending on if you are running a custom ROM, it may have the option to disable it. If not, an edit of the build.prop can get rid of it as well.

so SWEET. i just hope the rom, and source code gets leaked so while we wait on a rom to be built we can start pulling stuff like this to pass the time..
This is rediculous but I can't wait for it. So excited for it if that's the only good thing that comes out of gingerbread. I know it's not...

It's the power off, not the screen off, I think.
If we reversed it, it could also be the screen on animation.
The video says screen off and the screen blinks off with one touch of the power button.

We need someone to update this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1057556
can anyone upload a video for the new screen on/off animations?
Why Sony Ericsson changed the animation !?!?!?!?
Things like that belong to Q&A.
I liked the old animation more, too

I follow the instruction but on res/values/bools.xml was <bool name="config_animateScreenLights">false</bool> (Already)
Who known to fix it ?
Hello there!
I'm currently using the new wbaw's GSF, but I've noticed that it doesn't has the lovely CRT effect!
I was wondering if someone could make a flashable zip that would enable this .
I'm not sure if the bug has been fixed with ZTE's 2.3.5, but on the old ZTE 2.3.4 leak enabling the crt effect breaks the zte alarm clock. You can flash the contacts addon to use CM7's deskclock, that has an alarm that works.
I was already using the cm7 alarm. Could you post a link please with the crt effect?
Has it a way to activate it now?
Yes another request here, would love the CRT effect back. Thanx
has anybody tried if it works?

It's called crt off effect, so it will not activate it!
Would also like this crt effect back again,I was thinking of going back to the old firmware I was using so I'd have it back again.

FYI it is called "OFF" because it is visible when you shut the screen off
for eg in cm7 you have the choice to turn crt on and crt off animations which means when you turn the screen on or off
crt style screen off animation is in the latest version. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1389364

Yep noticed that too. Takes about a half second to trigger the crt animation after you pressed power button and the animation itself is much quicker

Maybe this is to fix how it looks on LCDs.. It always looked a bit awkward on my Xperia Play, you could see the screen turn off after the animation, made it look unnatural.

Most likely, being that the latest nexus is no longer amoled
I can confirm this on my i9250. It did this same thing on my G2x on all the CM-based custom ROMs I used as well.
Its always been fast, im still on 4.1.2 and the screen of animation is very fast, how faster can it get?

I simply went into recovery and flashed the boot animation from this page: [DOWNLOAD] S4 Google Edition Camera, Boot Animation, and Live Wallpaper
It's easier if you don't want to have to copy files around and if you don't care about backing up the stock boot animation.
Anyway, why'd they go with the old Nexus boot animation for this thing... It's got such a beautiful screen and the boot animation uses like 5% of it. They should have came up with something nice, like the new Moto X boot animation.
Edit: My bad, that's what happens when you don't read... I just saw the "Manual Install" instructions, didn't see that you posted the flashable zip.
Does this also work for the 1st gen Nexus 7?

Can you make the FULL animation? In the original GE phones, the google logo like fades out, and the colors come from each side of the screen and collide into the boot animation you created now. Why did you cut that extra stuff out? Is there anyway to implement the full animation back?
