I don't know if anyone's noticed this, but when I first start the browser or if I click a link from another app, for just a split second it looks grey with a gingerbread square style button for the bookmarks. Then it instantly switches to the Samsung skin.
Just take a look at the picture in the attachments.
Would someone be able to get into the files and make a theme for the browser to make it look like this?

For some reason no one has ever themed Go SMS. I think its the best sms app out there personally. It would be truly awesome if someone could black out everything except text, and I'm pretty sure a lot of people would use it to go with their themes. Come on themers!!! Be the first!
No one has done it because go SMS allows you to theme just about everything, even the popup messages now. Go to menu > appearance and you'll need settings for conversation and conversation list. And apply your black/white settings over the do-it-yourself theme.

I know you can theme almost everything...but you still cannot theme the top and bottom bars on the screen OR the text box. See the picture below pointing to the parts I think would be awesome blacked out completely. With the text box, I say make it black background with white text. why not?
As you can see, i tried to pick the darkest possible theme...but still not black. This is pure simple dark theme btw. the bottom sections are even worse (whiter).

I don't know if this is really a mod, and it's not really a theme. This simple edit will change the appearance of the email app, to make it more closely match the look of the contacts, dialer, and sms apps.
You must be rooted. Navigate to /system/csc, and select feature.xml.
Scroll to the "Email" section, and change this line from this:
<CscFeature_Email_UseFixedBgColorAsWhite>true</CscFeature_Email_UseFixedBgColorAsWhite>
To this:
<CscFeature_Email_UseFixedBgColorAsWhite>false</CscFeature_Email_UseFixedBgColorAsWhite>
Save, exit,
Make sure permissions are set to: rw-r--r--,
and reboot.

It just turns the white background of the app, black. The actual body of the email will look like it always did.
Worked like a charm!

Makes me wonder why Sprint chose the light background, when some of the other carriers went with the dark background. To me, it flows with the rest of the UI better.
I agree

This didn't work for me. The app is still white.

Make sure your file explorer has root, and R/W permissions, and be sure to save the edited file before you exit. Then reboot. I've done this mod with Root Explorer, ES File, and Solid Explorer. What file explorer are you using?

I prefer the black background as well, but the dark grey on black for the message list is hard to read. And the actual emails still being white is a big downer as well. Oh well...back to K9 Mail for me.

I haven't tried K9 Mail. Maybe I'll give it a shot, later.
Love k9 mail for all the features and best of all black background everywhere. Hate the white background garbage that people like from coming from Apple products.
It just hurts to read and blinding when in a dark room

Haha, but HTC was just about as guilty with the white background, for several years, even back in the Windows Mobile days. The sad part is, I was too ignorant to know any better.
Worked great... hated that grayish background... thanks!

I edited the OP. After you save the edited file, make sure the permissions are rw-r--r--. Twice, during my testing, the permissions changed after saving, for some reason. So, just verify the permissions are correct, before you reboot.
I noticed that I lost my secondary selections on my keyboard after this mod. No more comma icons etc. I tried to reverse the process numerous times. The mail app stays black and my keyboard stays this way. Any ideas? I guess I'll just nand back otherwise.

You may have inadvertently changed something, while scrolling, or whatever.
In feature.xml, scroll to the SIP section. Make sure these lines match what you have:
<CscFeature_Sip_EnableSymbolInSecondary>en_US;es</CscFeature_Sip_EnableSymbolInSecondary> <CscFeature_Sip_UseSymbolInCMKey>true</CscFeature_Sip_UseSymbolInCMKey>
As far as I know, it has to be exact. The entire entry can't have any extra spaces, or stray characters.
Save, exit, make sure permissions are rw-r--r--, and reboot. Hope this gets you going.
Thanks I'll check it out right now.
No dice. Everything looks right. The email app stays black and still no change to keyboard. It's rw r r. File saved properly etc. Weird.

That is strange. When I first flashed the LK8 leak, I had the international keyboard (no secondary keys). The Sprint feature.xml has the secondary key keyboard by default. I've since searched, and found out that the international Note 2 owners added this entry to their feature.xml, to get the 'US' keyboard. Are you on the viperboy's latest version of the leak? There is no reason I know of, why it won't work.
It's alright. I got it back by grabbing another feature. Xml file from a backup. No worries. I may try it again Lllater and see if I can replicate the issue.
I'm on the stock Deodexed rooted rom.

I am looking for something like Zedge to browse and download icons (I am using Apps Organizer and there is an option to assign your own icons to the shortcuts); the problem is - I can't find an app which will open some online database and show zillion of icons (just like Zedge does with wallpapers and ringtones); the only way to do it for now is to download icons manually or install icon packs
would anyone know an application which would allow me to browse and download icons?

Well for anyone that don't know you can change your font with I font, works good.

Good find. I like that a preview can be viewed from within the app and the ability to quickly set from the app is a bonus. Had another app that would just give me a font number and I had to view online and then download and then go to settings and change. This one I start and end within the app ?
