Need SBL1.mbn file for T999L - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

If anyone can help me out I need the sbl1.mbn file for a T999L LTE . you can pm me if you want but from a rooted phone using terminal emulator you would type this. Its for a JTAG on that model
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/SGH_T999L_200MB_DUMP.bin bs=4096 count=50000k

Aloha thanks..MJ

Jus curious why you need this? Its not something that should ever be touched or messed with. It doesn't get flashed in official firmware.
Also, why are you issuing a command for such a large dump if all you want is something that I believe is less than 1mb in size?
I got a pm from someone else asking the same thing. (App keeps crashing when I try to reply, sorry) I can probably get it from a couple of sources but I'd kinda like to know what you guys need it for too. There may be something else you need instead. Like I said, its not ever flashed or messed with by any normal means.

I am sorry, but I cannot recommend anyone run that command w/o knowing the reason behind it. I just checked and by dumping the first 200mb of mmcblk0 you will be getting a dump of partitions mmcblk0p1 thru mmcblk0p13, and a small chunk of p14 (/system). This includes some of the nvdata, and may include data such as the IMEI number. That was a 2 min look at it, so I'm not sure exactly what all is included on those partitions right off hand, but it is much, much more than just the sbl1.
Dont get me wrong, I'm not saying you want it for malicious purposes by any means. Just that what you are requesting should be accompanied by an explanation of what you need it for and why you want a dump that is so much more than just the sbl1, which is the only thing you actually asked for. And if its because you don't know the partition sbl1 is on, all you needed to do was ask, rather than ask someone to dump a bunch of data without having any idea what they are giving away.
I'm all for helping someone, but this really struck me as an odd request is all as its not something anyone here has ever really needed, and I'd just like to know more if you don't mind.
(Yes, I can think of one reason this could be needed, but I'd like to know for sure what you guys want it for.)
Thanks!

You can run this
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/SGH_T999L_200MB_
Like I said its for JTAG that's not any Normal means
I'm working with Josh at mobiletechvideos.com on getting a bootloader JTAG for this model and we need that specific sbl file

Ok. All you need is the sbl1 then? Sorry bout all that, but it kinda gave me pause when you asked for the 200mb dump is all. Just being careful!
I think I have it on my computer and can get it when I get home shortly.
If someone else wants to pull the sbl1, its on mmcblk0p2, so the terminal command would be this:
su
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p2 of=/mnt/sdcard/T999L_SBL1.bin bs=4096
If no one else gets it for you before I get back, ill get it to you.

HELP ME PLEASE hardbricked ATT GS3

Okay, so I've hardbricked my AT&T Galaxy S3, or SGH-i747, or d2att. I was trying to flash a kernel and some devs think I rewrote my bootloader and therefore it is no longer there. However, my saving grace is only in something this dev calls "block 5"...
If anyone has a rooted AT&T GS3, I would SO SO SO appreciate it if they could run this code (I didn't write it but it's not malicious):
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p5 of=/sdcard/blk5.img
Click to collapse
All it's doing is getting the image for block 5 from an att gs3. Someone PLEASE help me, I'm begging here. From there someone could either email it to me or put it in a public Dropbox folder so I can get it to my dev friend...
Lol, how do you even rewrite the bootloader?

I ran the code and have an img file for you. But you're gonna have to have someone credible chime in and say this block of data doesn't contain any sensative info...

if you have an irc account, could you please join #cyanogenmod? the dev that's helping me, utkanos, also says if there is a file named "/proc/emmc" on the device then he might not need the block.

Hi, I am attempting to help hooloovoo666 determine if his device is permanently bricked or not. I don't know what is on mmcblk0p5, thats sort of what we're trying to figure out on the device. If there is a /proc/emmc file that has actual data in it that you can grab off the running device, there may be no need to send this block over. I am suspecting since the device wont even boot that he accidentally ovewrote the bootloader.
Based on the device layout, there is no user data stored there so there shouldn't be any personal info.
If you wouldn't mind joining #Cyanogenmod on freenode that would be helpful.

[LINK][DEV][INFO] SPH-L900 Partition Layout

I'm just posting this as I haven't seen it elsewhere. Figured others have to be wanting this as well:

I'm linking instead of posting here so that I only have to maintain one version. Would suck to have discrepancies on something as important as this.
Thanks, I copied the information into a Google Doc easier reading.

Thank you, and that is worthless. Why would you even set up a 20mb partition?
Updated the layout based on PIT analysis. Much more complete now.
20m is plenty for a mini emergency restore image, or images of firmwares for modems or radios or other auxiliary devices, it's gargantuan to hold config data. I don't know what it was meant to be used for, but there are any number of possible uses for 20m.

i ran a Sony xperia rom from my phone i think it was not for t999. now no reaction from phone just black cant eet it in download mod or boot at all.
Just curious - supposing he had a nandroid backup on an SD card. Is there possibly a way he could connect his phone and SD card to his puter, copy the nandroid from SD to puter, then insert the nandroid directly into the phone and then try to start it up again?
I know it sounds inane, but I was just curious.

Did you get the ROM in this forum? If not, (if you got it in one of the xperia forums for example), then you probably have bricked it. In the future, ONLY flash things that are specifically made for your model device.

I really doubt it would be that simple. But I think I understand what you are getting at. It would entirely depend on what was flashed. If the rom he flashed was scripted to flash to mmcblk0p2 or mmcblk0p7 for example, there is no way something like that would help. But even if something less sensitive was overwritten, such as /system, as long as it did not screw up the partition layout, you would likely still have access to recovery and download mode.
The more I think about it, the more I believe theres no way to make that work if the device is truly bricked.

There are probably quite a few different places online. And I'm all for saving money, but the reason I only ever mention mobiletechvideos is because theyre the only ones who people have mentioned around here in the past. And everyone who did use them and posted here about it said it was a good, fast service. If there were other places mentioned where someone actually used them, I'd mention both by name. But until someone does, the only place Ive seen reviewed by XDA members in our forums remains mobiletechvideos.com. Its up to the customer to decide.

Believe it or not I don't have the T999L! Just the plain old original T999. I just jumped in on that stuff because I like getting in on that discovery phase for a new device. And it was closely related enough that I could apply much of what I already knew to help others.
I have put out a few requests for the dumps needed. But for some reason most people just don't want to do the little bit of legwork required I guess. I still can't even get a /system dump or pull for the T999N, though several have said they would do so. Can't provide em with a way back to stock without it.
Anyway, I've kinda run into the same issues for finding these dumps. Still trying though.
Thanks for all your work KAsp3rd! And good to see you still pop in once in a while Woody!

So if I root it it trips the flash counter right? I need to send it back within a week, is there a 100% way to reset the flash counter?
I'll get to rooting it and dumping the firmware. I'll have something up by tomorrow night.

Picture worked. As far as the flash counter, I don't know first-hand; but I do believe with the new Knox bootloader it will trip a counter that can't be reset as of right now.
If you are in some way testing this phone for Samsung and they find out you leaked information without permission there may be consequences. Not sure what but if you under a tester agreement stride soft on the ice you are walking on.

Pic looks to legit to quit.... Nice!
Good to know Tmo finally remembered that they sell the GS4.
Ya dood.... dump it!!
Hmm, wonder how long till Sammobile gets an odin file up, maybe i might stay up all night and write you a C# program that will dump the ROM for you. You shouldn't need to root to dump the ROM. A simple "adb pull /system C:\ROM_DUMP" should do the trick. Then again, the kernel won't be included. that might need root for.
