"Device blocked" after user on app went nutty - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

I have an app that I have used for three years and I love it! However, some pregnant chick got angry about something, and blocked me by flagging me so many times that it auto blocked me, and after days and days I still cant reach the MOD and neither can my friend on the app. Now when I try post on the app (have tried both on wifi and 4g, have also tried making new account) it says "you cannot post, your device has been blocked." I changed proxy on PC and was able to access that way, but I need it on my phone. How would ai go about getting around the "device block"? I'm not rooted yet, either. Was trying not to have to root this phone. I have read about a few options, but know that this community always has the best info.Thankyou
Lou

My phone got hacked remotely help

I have evo running cm7 someone hacked my phone they got my txt msgs and forwarded them. I always have my phone. How can I find out how they did this and how can I prevent this.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
OK, well it really isnt possible to remotly hack a phone unless you installed an app that let somebody do this. So, two questions, what have you installed recently, and how do you know somebody hacked your phone?
Well really nothing and I also get 10 to 15 blocked calls a day I have Mr number blocker installed to block these but somehow some get through to my voicemail. The messages were saved and the whole thread was forwarded. Also pictures get forwarded and phone makes calls by itself
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Sounds weird.
Full wipe and/or factory reset just to be safe. Probably not a good idea to use any backups from the infected rom.
LBE Security is an app for free on the market.
It'll prompt you if an untrusted app tries to do anything malicious like that.
Swyped from my Htc Evo using XDA App.
How does he know that they were forwarded.... probably someone was messing with your phone
With adb you can use the following to find out what all is running, whatever is doing it should show up on there
Code:
adb shell ps
I always keep my phone on me. I know they were forwarded because my ex got pic and messages and I did not send them thanks guys

check your apps through TB or manage apps and see what is all on your phone, maybe your ex or someoene installed something on your phone to forward texts.. i had a ex try and install a app on my phone (cant remeber its name), this app was suppose to be hidden and only accessable by hiting some numbers on the dial pad and hitting send.. But i noticed right away somethign was weird in my phone (it was acting real slow) and i looked in applications and manage apps and found it and uninstalled it..
Looked at my apps, saw nothing weird

If you're on of those people who believe your phone can get hacked I'd suggest lookout security or avg free antivirus to ease your mind.
Yea, I find it hard to believe someone hacked your phone JUST to send pictures to your ex girlfriend. Are you sure you didnt get drunk and send them yourself? Or let your friend borrow the phone?
I don't drink and its happening well thanks anyway I guess I wont find a solution here

Are you sure someone didn't sign in to your Sprint picture mail acct online? I think they can forward from there. Also if you always use the same password, they can dial your number and access your vm and forward them etc

I dont think we really need those stuff. If you know well what you are downloading and from where you are downloading this stuff are useless.Beside they Consume battery alot.

Thanks
I use Lookout a lot. It has saved me many times when I left my phone somewhere, and I had to find it. The web interface is great. You can locate it via GPS, make it scream, or even wipe it if you need to. It also does a daily back up of all your pics and calls. Not sure if we need the Anitvirus yet on our phones, but it's nice to have as a piece of mind. Especially when downloading all these third party apps from say XDA (not that members would try to give bad ones, but some links go to shady sites once in a while).
So look out is good? What about avg?

Another really good security app is cerberus doesn't provide any type of virus protection be offers a wide array of lost or stolen options definitely worth a try.

2nd for avast. Don't care much for lookout and I wouldn't give me dead grandmother AVG.

Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
I don't think lookout is necessary, although the locating feature is great..you can try cerberus or seekdroid if you want an app that locates your phone
I like my Roms the way I like my women..... Clean and smooth
I use avast. Use it on my desktop and it's way better than most other anti virus for PC. Avast doesn't seem to use much battery and is very light on my phone. Plus the anti theft feature is the best out there. Period.

I use Lookout mainly for its backup and lost devices capabilities... as long as you are downloading from known sources you should have no need to scan files for viruses.
Quick question about these type of apps: do they automatically enable GPS if lost and you try to find the device?

No it does not enable GPS, but it still narrows it down to a couple feet using triangulation with the surrounding towers and/or wi-fi. I just did it for mine, and the map pinpoints it to inside my living room. Since it also has the ability to scream (actually screams a loud noise) there should be no issues finding it within a few feet while screaming. On that note even if the phone is set to silent Lookout will turn the volume all the way to 100% to scream making it very easy to locate.
My favorite combo is tmobile security (auto location off) with dropbox for backup purposes... less battery drain. (Wont find your phone if its off)

Mobile security

Do you use any virus/malware programs, thoughts and recommendations?
I've never been a mobile security using kinda guy. I've tried lookout before and never saw the point besides being able to locate a lost phone. Which I have never needed. So I just ended up uninstalling it.
My dad recently felt the need to show off his new mobile security suit and tell me all the features (I forgot what it was, but lookout did all the same things he mentioned to me)
Has anyone had a security program detect a major threat?
Considering I keep more important info on my cell than my laptop my dad got me thinking maybe I need one of these...
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda app-developers app
I use lookout for security and the locator. I doubt I'll ever need it but it pays to be safe. I've never had a threat detected but once again you never know. Instead of asking why bother, perhaps say "why not?"

Second that Avast. used nq security for a year but it qut updating virus protection so been with Avast ever since.
I'm wary of what I download. And always keep backups and change my passwords often. Though I do use Lookout for GPS tracking, I however disable the file scanning function.

I've never heard of a single case of a mobile virus but it's possible to inject malware via an app I'm very careful about what I download.. I never use any mobile security apps.
I did hear about people being able to steal your info from your phone by NFC.. All they have to do is come close enough to your phone with an nfc tag and it can automatically direct you to a Site where it automatically downloads something malicious to your phone . It's very unlikely to happen but the only way to prevent that is keep nfc off..

I use Dr. Web it scans any app that I download and gives a notification according to the results. There are only 2 times it has ever found anything was once on my mt4g I used an apk to help root the phone. Because of the nature of the apk dr Web reported it as malicious. I knew that it wasn't so no biggie. The other time was a couple months ago when gosms was under fire for recording info from your chats/texts gosms had an update that started the controversial info collection. When I downloaded the update Dr Web reported the app was malicious. So I simply did not update. Otherwise all is quiet.

Okay I looked around a little bit, and found some article saying if I was running a stock t Mobile ROM they can track it but if I'm running a stock rooted rOM they probably wouldn't be able to track it. But I'm still not sure.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T989 using xda premium
hey if you are not rooted then they can track you. But if you are rooted then you can use titanium backup to freeze tethering manager or tethering provisions ithink it is called in ics. Most custom roms have that disabled so you dont have to worry about it. But it also seems that since they came out with the new unlimited 4g that they figured out a way to do it even if you have that tethering manager frozen not sure how but they figured it out. Given some time someone here will figure out how to get around that too. they kick us in the balls we kick them back. Right now if the method above does not work because it seems to work for some people then they catch on or whatever also if you dont have unlimited 4g then it might work with no problem but if it doesnt the only way I have found around it is to use google chrome on your pc then go to the chrome store and get an app called user agent spoofer I think it is called and it allows you to change your user agent so you can use chrome but it will think you are using IE or firfox or iphone or android. So what you do is set it to android then you trick them into thinking that you are using your phones browser but you are really using it o nyour pc. Now unfortunatly this has some drawbacks like if you try to use netflix it will not let you or pandora it wants you to download the app but of corse you cant because it is a pc. so anything with flash really wont work. But if you are in a jam and need the web then it will work.

Yeah, I tried unlinking and relinking. Didn't work. I decided to just pay the $5 per year and go back to DeskSMS. It has been super reliable across any and every build on my phone, and its companion, TabletSMS, has worked with both my Nexus 7 and my TouchPad. Worth the money to me.

Derp... wrong app. Finally figured it out
I use it but I'm a little concerned about privacy... Its obvious the actual texts and phone numbers are going through mighty texts servers to get from AT&Ts system to my nexus 7 which is only connected via WiFi, or is that incorrect? I text a lot of highly sensitive info due to my line of work. I hope I'm worried for nothing because its a great app and one more reason to put my phone down while I'm on my tablet.

I think it's going through googles servers since you login with your Google credentials, but I guess that could be just for authentication. If you need more privacy tablet talk syncs via Bluetooth but I think you have to pair it a lot.
