So exactly as the title says purchased a movie in HD from the play store it downloaded perfectly on my dna file was almost 3gb. Now my nexus, it downloads in SD, file is around 380mb. Now when I looked up the requirements on Google play it specifically lists the Gnex as a HD device, so how do I make it download in HD?

I'm wondering if we should install Angry Birds Space HD on our H1Xs or the "normal" version? They say, in the app's description, that the HD version is for tablets, but what exactly is the difference between tablets and our devices besides form factor?
We have a very big resolution, so, should we install the HD version or should we go for the "normal" version for some other reason that I'm not aware?
How do you install the HD version again ?
This app is incompatible with all of your devices.
am not able to
Install the normal one. If you are browsing Google Play on the computer, all games and apps show, but if you are viewing it on the phone, it will only show compatible apps and games.
I only see the normal version.
Installing the HD on a phone would probably just use up battery power for a small increase in graphics you would hardly notice.

It's the same on both the device and the computer , every app is there if it's incompatible it's written on the download button.

So I came from the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S III, and took advantage of redeeming the free avengers movie through mediahub. When I got my Galaxy Note II, I tried to download the HD version, but wouldn't let me, so I just ended up downloading the SD version. After downloading the SD version, it says I can download the HD version, tried again, but it gave me an error. So I figure it was something with the phone. I tried playing the movie, but it says that I can't play it. Why is that? Both phone specs are similar to each other but why won't it play on the Note II?
At least you can download it. Never had the S III, so it's not even letting me get the movie for free. And your problem is a known one. I'm not sure if a solution was found. What version could you not play? Have you tried transferring the HD version of the movie from the S III to your Note II?

The SD version, since it wouldn't let me download the HD version. The file is hidden somewhere on the S III, not visible anywhere if I try to find it using my computer or My Files app.
so, for ages ive been sceptical about Play Movies as it doesnt give you any details about the resolution ive never bought anything. however the other day google stuck up a coulpe things for free and i thought yey, get to try something and see what the quality is like.
its crap.
it is on my galaxy nexus anyway. i clicked to download the file and its a little over 320mb for a 90 min show. given one thing id want to use play movies for is downloading on the phone and being able to MHL it up to a TV. so SD is crap i think, but no.
i go over to my nexus 7 and try it there and the same file downloads and its 1.3gb!
so my question is why is this happening and how do i force my GN to use the bigger files, the files that are actually decent quality.

Not sure if this is a real incompatibility or just an issue with an errant warning message in the play store. When you select a movie and click on the rental price you are shown a price for the HD version and the SD version. The HD price for all movies has a message that says HD playback is not supported on this device. However, it still will let you click on the HD price and proceed to checkout. I haven't had the need to try it yet and see what happens. Is this just a errant warning message for some reason like a unrecognized resolution?

Sorry for bumping this. Does anyone know if the play movies can play HD yet? Has it been fixed? I know it can support 1080p but I was just wondering about the play store videos..
Is it possible to port google play music from the nexus player to the Amazon fire TV. Im asking this question because the google play music apk that came with the nexus player dose not require touch navigation, its design specifically to control with a remote. Thank you.

I've tried numerous apk files developed in part for multiple devices and none work.
I did come across a Google Play Music addon for Kodi & even though the zip installed I cannot for the life of me get it to work. The menu displays & I've entered my correct Google Play Music logon credentials but when I access the addon the screen says "Working..." & goes no where.
Anyone have any ideas as to why?

Yes, and I installed them in the order you have listed. I even rebooted after the install but still...nothing.

Hello, I have this working for me, First uninstall all these
script.module.mutagen
script.module.gmusicapi
plugin.audio.googlemusic
Then download the new 1.2 version here is the link
https://app.box.com/s/vderjsv84fq59z1lccv0
Install only this, do not install the dependencies , then enter your info, it going to take like 5 minutes to load your library, then your good to go.

Yup that did it. Thanks so much. Now I just need to tweak the way the tags are read on album views (I was able to do it for track views).
