I have a Galaxy S2 T989 that I have rooted and have been trying different roms. Yesterday I reflashed it back to T-mobile 4.1.2 and after I changed my battery and rebooted it got hung up. I did a hard restart and the screen display darkened a few shades. Now my display is not as bright as it used to be. Brightness is up as high as possible, auto brightness is off, and auto tone is off. What happened? What can I do?

I've had a problem with the t989D since I got it. Here's what I want:
**Auto brightness turned OFF and the brightness remain at minimum setting.**
However, with all the roms I've tried (Stock, Juggernaut 4.1- 5.0, Tuesday) I always have the auto brightness OFF and the screen always brightens up to about 75% whenever I turn the screen back on.
Note: the settings still show as if the brightness is set to 0%, but the actual brightness coming from the screen is the same as if I turn the bar up to 75%. When I start to move the adjustment bar a slight amount for the brightness, the actual screen light drops right away. It only stays on 0% as long as I'm using it, but then is really bright again when I lock, then unlock the screen.
Is anyone else noticing this? Beyond that, is it possible to prevent the screen from adjusting it's brightness while the auto brightness nis off?
Thanks for any assistance!!
Hey everyone, just got a Galaxy Nexus and I am having problems with it. The screen brightness is always too dim to use, even after changing brightness settings. I don't believe it is a hardware problem as when I use the pull down bar or enter the main menu, the brightness is normal. On the internet app it seems as if there is absolutely no brightness at all (too the point where the phone looks like its almost off). On the home screen unless I use the specific background microbes there is no back-lighting.
Any solutions?
Edit: I was on 4.0.1 Yakjuux and now I'm on 4.0.4 Yakju - Not rooted and same problem on both.
Does anybody notice that the screen randomly dims and returns right back to bright even though lighting around your area hasn't changed. My galaxy s2 didn't do this even at auto brightness. I love the phone but this is kinda annoying. So should I take this to be normal.
Hello,
Yesterday when I was done working and got my phone from my locker, I opened an app and immediately
the screen went black and appearantly the phone had switched itself off. I turned it back on wondering why
it did this, but as soon as it had started up and the home screen appeared, it turned itself right back off.
I tried turning it back on about 7 or 8 times until the battery ran out and I could not try anymore.
When I got home I put it on the charger and fortunately the phone stayed on, however the top of the screen
seemed to be 'trembling' a bit and some pixels were changing from light red to dark red to light red etc. (my home screen is red)
I decided to leave it charging overnight and when I woke up, the trembling had disappeared. I took it off the
charger and after scrolling through my Facebook news feed, found that battery percentage was decreasing quite
quickly considering it's on power saver mode. I thought it might be that the screen brightness is too high, so I went
to settings and tried to adjust the screen brightness, however it is not responding? My screen brightness stays
exactly the same no matter whether I increase or decrease it, and when I was doing that the phone switched itself
off again. I put it back on charge now and turned it back on, but I am quite annoyed about this issue because I
do not know what it is and my phone is only 5 months old. I hope any of you can shed some light on the situation.
Summary of the issues:
- Phone switching itself off
- Screen trembled yesterday
- Battery decreasing quickly
- Brightness setting not working
Info about the phone:
- HTC One X 5 months old
- Android 4.2.2
- No adjustments made to the phone with rooting or any of that
Thanks!
Must be a hardware failure if you havent changed anything software-wise
Is it overheating?
Is it under warranty?
And other sensors are working? But like TTG TriCkSh0tZz said , use your warranty if you can.

Hey all
I wonder if it is me who isn't too bright
Just updated from Android 8 to 11 (18.1) and my Moto 5GS is working well though the brightness is very bright. At first it was on adaptive which was all over the place, bright when you wanted it dim, vice versa or would dim/bright at random times.
I have tried to set the various settings and now it's stuck on BRIGHT, burning into your eyes bright. Even when the screen is off you can still see the screen is light up, light grey.
Is that a known issue or have I set a setting wrong somewhere? (Never seen so many options to just dim your screen, much be a Android 11 update)
Thanks for the great work, it's been a while since I rooted and installed new OS on my phone. So it was a bit hard to play around with fastboot, ADB and holding my breath when it rebooted
