The Galaxy Nexus is released today in the Netherlands so i bought one.
I really like the phone and was ready to root it tonight but then i got a phonecall.
The speaker sounds awfull...like the speaker has blown up...its hard to hear what the other person is saying with all that vibration coming out of the speaker.
Anybody else having this issue?

Hey everyone, I looked around and didn't see anyone asking about this. Basically I am just needing to know if I need to do a warranty exchange or if the phone is working as designed.
I am coming from a Atrix, and it had the best speaker of any phone over ever had. Now I have the Galaxy nexus and it is very hard for me to hear the phone ring at all, or if I am watching a movie in a room with no noise it, it is hard to hear...
Is this normal? Anyone able to compare it to the Atrix?
Thanks

You didn't look very hard. It's a known issue. Try volume+ from the market.
Also custom kernels with a volume fix.

Okay so anyone that has this problem if your insured sprint will fix in the service center..but if not what happens is the mesh that is over the mic slides down so that the thicker part is covering the mic making it basically muffled..so what you do is slide that back up so that the thin part is back over the mic on the piece that you talk in to pit phone back together and there you go extremely low mic volume fixed...can I get this sticky for peoples other use..thanks

How difficult is this to do yourself? Any tips or guides? I have this issue but only with cm9, however I won't disregard hardware related till I've tried.

Hello,
The vibrate motor has broken on my galaxy nexus and was wondering if anybody could point me in the right direction to buy a new one and replace it?
I know its the motor as I have tried a number of roms and not one of them make the vibrate function work. Also the phone doesnt vibrate when it has been restarted, nor in the recovered.
Any chance you could just return your device for warranty repair, or a swap out if you are with one of the big 4 carriers (Vzw, ATT, Tmobile, sprint)?

I cant be bothered with all the aggro of putting stock rom back on the forum before I send it back. Also the case has a couple of bumps on it, so they will just blame the problem on that. Id rather fix it myself :cyclops:

This place does not stock the vibrate module.
Could somebody recommend anywhere else?

any luck? my gf's Gnex is making an odd buzzing sound like a card stuck in a fan whenever her vibrate motor turns on. looking to replace hers as well. all I can find are full loud speaker assemblies on eBay that I hope have vibrate motors attached.
nope it seems to be broken. I took my past apart last week to fix another problem with the speakers. But decided that replacing the motor was going to be easy. So looked online for the parts, but cant find them anywhere
Reckon this motor will work? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Keypad-Fl...K_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item4abf847c50
Might buy it just to try out. Looks the same kinda size
So my note 2 mic is not working . Only speakerphone and bluetooth work. My question is is the mic easy to replace? Is it part of the motherboard or seperate? If its seperate anyone have a broken note 2 willing to sell? Is it weird that speakerphone works and not regular method of talking on a phone? Any help would be great. And by the way no voice apps work either ie google svoice etc. Thanks

Try going back to complete stock rom. If you are on custom rom.

What's funny is that if the speaker phone is working. Then in theory the Mic should b good. Because it uses the same one! I agree with the above poster, if your running a custom Rom I would go back to stock to see if that fixes your problem. Another thing I would look at is if the Mic, is clogged up with lint/dust. It happen to my brother's daughter phone. Called me saying her phone don't work, can't here her talking!! Cuz I'm the tech guy of the family, told her to try and clean out her Mic. After that she called her dad now he can here her fine.

Thanks for your help. I am on stock rom. Already faxtory reset. And tried to clean the mic hole. I'm out of ideas and don't want to take this phone apart. I use the bluetooth but it's driving me crazy.

Isn't your phone still under manufacturer warranty? Why would you pay or do this yourself?

Why would you pay for a Samsung defect

I forgot to mention I bought this phone used and have no paperwork . So I cant do warranty I dont think.
I bought it from cl and it worked fine for a few days . Before you say I got ripped off I only paid 100 cash + a galaxy s1. So even with the 25 $ mic still came out clean . Phoneis mint except non working mic .

I work for a cell phone retailer as a repair technician and warranty repair is free lol. I can see any manufacturer charging for shipping though, unless you complain enough. The warranty follows the device not the phone number
Well after over a month I finally got my note 2 back. .. They sent it back to me broken so I sent it back and finally got it yesterday. They replaced the pba which is the mother board ... It works great and glad to be back

Sorry to revive this thread, but I'm having the same issue. Completely stock, mic works with speakerphone and obviously bluetooth, but not on normal calls.
Thoughts?
