[Q] Is my samsung glaxy grand duos hard bricked ? - Galaxy Grand Duos i9082 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

So,after flashing android 4.2.2 on my galaxy grand duos i thought to switch back to my stock rom via odin. While the downloading procees of the stock rom i removed the battery. But when i turned it on, it showed a black screen (a little other colours in the centre). Is it hard bricked or what ? Will a usb jig for samsung galxy s2 work on it ? Or can i just get it repaired by th samsung service centre ? PLEASE HELP !

Interrupting an Odin flash by disconnecting the cable or by removing the battery can possibly lead to a hard brick. I guess its off to the Service Centre (if you're under warranty) or motherboard replacement (if you're device is no longer covered).
P.S. Don't mention words like 'flash' or 'brick' or 'Odin' at the Service Centre. Simply act dumb.

Bro if you have flashed the bootloader of S5300 then I'm afraid you are pretty and royally screwed! How can you make a mistake like that?
As far as I know, the only way you can fix it is to send it into Samsung service centre.
Sorry to break it to you bro.
Next time make sure you know what you are doing before playing around with firmwares, they are NOT COMPATIBLE!

are you sure you can't enter into download mode?? (volume down + home button + lock button)
if yes, then it's indeed hard brick bro
the only thing that you can do is send it back to the service center and make an excuse that your updating through kies was interrupted by a power black out

on the physical aspect, no
they can only figure that out if they can manage to boot it up without flashing the original firmware which i think cannot be avoided so base on that theory, they will not find out
ps: just tell them the excuse i gave on the previous comment
make sure your warranty isn't expired!!

check your warranty sticker!
example: my phone has this sticker inside it noting that it is an original Samsung product with a 1-year warranty (from date of purchase)
you can also check the box

if your phone was hard bricked, then the combination keys will not work anymore. .you can use "usb jig" to trigger your phone into odin mode. .you can buy a usb jig or a home made usb jig. .you will only need a 300k resistor and a micro usb. .search for a tutorial on "how to make your own usb jig"
that will definetely a hard brick. you've flashed wrong bootloader in your phone. in these case only samsung service center could revive your phone. you can ignore all comment and post about jig, recovery mode, combination keys, odin, bla bla bla since they won't work. save your time and just send your phone to samsung service center.

what reason should i give in the service centre as my phone is in warranty period
@missingchord: I'm sorry if my post migh offend you. I didn't mean that. you're just suggesting something based on your knowledge anyway. aside OP, there's only one person here who have got hard brick on his SGY. its normal if only a few us here know how to fix a hard bricked device.
@sunamit: just say 'something goes wrong when I update my rom'. thats not a lie and not void your warranty. most service center will accept these reason.

Hi everyone,
I had bricked my phone (Samsung Galaxy S 4 mini I9192 Dous) by using EZ version unlock and its no charging,no booting, no entering download mode,...,nothing.
can anyone supply me a debrick image for Samsung Galaxy S 4 mini I9192 Dous for recoverying bootloadr, please?
thanks.
What you are describing is a hard brick and I think you can only recover it by replacing it with a new motherboard.

It should not be a big deal to try good luck.. first thing dont panic,, i know you might not coz i see your phone is dead now. so here are the things to try before you take to service center.
1) Remove battery from phone
2) buy a jig - attached a link this is for ebay India site try at your local address online.
http://www.ebay.in/itm/White-USB-JI...ies&hash=item43c40dc6bd&_uhb=1#ht_3935wt_1302
3) when your jig arrives just plug in the mini socket of phone and place the battery and press power button hardly for 5-10 seconds. if you are lucky phone will boot to download mode and from there on you can install the stock firmware by downloading for the Samsung site using ODIN tool.
I had many a times my LG/I9100 brought alive from dead mode. also i just hooked up the jig i have and s4 minit I9192 boots to download mode without any issue.
Best of luck.

completely dead means stuck at boot or no sign of any powering on?
first thing I would try is a JIG, force it into download mode and see if u can flash the original firmware
for firmware download, I recommend sammobile.com. They also have guides showing how to do so If you are uncertain or new to this
If u dont own a JIG and not willing to wait for one to be shipped, u can build it your own. it is pretty simple, just couple of resistors and a micro usb port
oh, and dont be shy about what you have done. Provide the essential details always for better assistance

Will your computer recognize it? If you connect it to your computer with the USB cable I mean. If it only makes 3 beeping noises (the computer) and doesn't recognize it, and the phone doesn't turn on at all you will need either a JIG service or a JTAG service (most likely JTAG)
Thank you 4 ur help
I will make my own Jig but can you please help with a guide 4 how to use the Jig to force flash new rom?

[Q] Galaxy s4 mini Hard brick

Hi guys.
One of my friends recently gave me his bricked galaxy s4 mini. The phone doesn't turn on and when I plug it in to my laptop it comes up as Qualcomm, Inc. Gobi Wireless Modem (QDL mode) . I've tried to fix it using qdload.pl and QPST but none of them worked.
Is there any way to restore the device without jtaging it ?? I have another working gs4 mini if that helps.
Download odin and a firmware from sammobile. Then do the steps showing on the website and done.

The same thing just happened to my working S4 mini. I put it on charge yesterday and it switched off after 5 minutes and never switched back on. I don't think there's any way to fix it as the EMMC is most likely dead :crying:

Brickbug much?
=/
Same thing happenned to me. I installed TWRP and the phone just died. Now it turns on and everything but is stuck in bootloop. Main issue is, my recovery just shows TWRP symbol and no options to be able to flash a new rom or a new recovery.
Odin flashes stuff such as cwm, stock rom, but none of these seem to actually have any impact in my phone behaviour.
I think it's just dead yet I just don't want to accept it, I'm trying everything I can to make it work again.
PS: I hate myself the day I decided to install a trwp

@Musa4
What is your Problem ?
Which ROM was installed on your Phone? Stock or Custom ?
Boot your phone up to the Samsung Logo and reboots ?
Can you boot into Recovery or Download mode?
If you wipe your Phone from Recovery, can you see some error messages.
If you install Stockrom with Odin, if you see error messages?
If you see some error messages, please post a screenshot.
I think , to 95% is your Emmc are defect.

Hi thanks for replying... Stock rom was installed in my phone but my phone was rooted..my phones doesn't boot at all...i can't go to recovery or download mode and odin doesn't detect my phone..nothing happens when i charge it or anything but when i connect it to my pc...a device named QHSUSB_DLOAD appears and what do you mean by "Emmc are defected".. Sorry i'm a newbie.
The Emmc is the flash memory of the phone.
Sorry, but I think here helps nothing, it is dead.

Can it be repaired by jtagging?
EDIT: the phone is not entirely dead my pc still detects it
That is correct, your PC will detect it, but you can flashing nothing on the emmc.
It is possible to change the emmc memory , JTAG will not help to bring it alive.
