Hi everyone!
After not being around for a while since my nexus 4 died I bought a samsung galaxy SII (SGH-T989) used.
The phone is rooted (I never rooted any phone before) and it has a 4.2.2 ROM that is unstable in my opinion. Apps continuously stop responding.
Im familiar using the recovery and changing roms.
So I need to know what ROM could I install in the phone? (4.2.2)

Do you prefer stock roms or aosp/aokp work

I would just ODIN back to stock 4.1.2 if you don't want a phone with root. There are plenty of stickies and threads about how to do this within the development section.

I just got a certified like new replacement due to my horrible reception and the reception on the new one is much better so im going to stay stock on it for the time being until JB is fully released by Verizon.
Because I'm thinking of just chilling with stock ICS too.

x2. Curious as well.
Stock JB 4.1.1 OTA'ed from ICS, love it, still haven't found a reason to do anything beyond flashing CWM and rooting!
Tried others, back to stock rooted....perfect the way it is!

Stock Ics, unlocked and rooted. Waiting for Verizon to release jellybean so I can manually update my nexus.
I'm running stock with one change. Custom soft keys.

Anyone got the factory restore files flammable thru ODIN for this phone? Just wanted them incase something goes wrong.
Also does anyone know a good Rom\kernel setup to use for overclocking or better battery?
And if I'm on stock Rom but changed the kernel can I just go straight to flashing TuchMe_S3X?

You're better off asking this in the Q & A section. This is a bad area to post a question.

Ever tried searching the forum? There's even a sticky on the development thread with info on stock roms and any more

Does anyone know if there is one yet?
Second this.

Its odd that there isn't one yet.
I just pushed my own update using the ones posted in the update thread. Stock and rooted.
The problem is staring with a custom ROM wanting stock jb.

My suggestion would be Odin FG01 and then use FG01 to FG05.
The Samsung galaxy s2 has an official jellybean update should I still download the update even though I'm rooted & have jellybean through the root??

do I have 2 unroot & how do I do it & is it really important that I install the stock update & why??

Are you asking how to go about installing the update, or are you asking if it's better than running whatever custom ROM you are currently using?
If you're asking whether it's better than the ROM you are currently running, that's a matter of opinion. Personally I have not tried the official Jelly Bean update, and I don't think I am going to. I like what I am using now (AOKP 4.2.2) and I don't like the T-Mobile bloatware. I know you can get rid of it, but why bother with the hassle if you have a ROM that you know works and you like?
Thanks......I have a few in 4.2.2 ROMs but if you're saying that it's not important that I install the stock rom & zip then I won't..... Thks

No, it's not important that you install it. There are advantages and disadvantages to stock vs. custom. It's up to you. Do you like touchwiz or do you like "pure" Android better? Do you need Wifi calling?
I have slimbean 4.2.2 & aokp installed & I like them both....wifi calling is not that important to me

Hi XDA!
First of all, sorry for my bad english!
Since yesterday I have a big problem with my Galaxy Nexus I9000 I9250 (GSM).
I did a dirty flash upgrade to the latest CM11 official nightly (CM updater), but since then my phone freezes randomly and my screen gets pink, then I cant use my phone and need to pull my battery. I didn't overclock my phone and used the CM11 stock kernel.
Today I'd restore my phone to the Google Stock Image (Android 4.3.3), didn't install any mods and I still got the same problem!
Is my phone bricked? Could you help me out?
Greetz,
TinyFeather
How did you restore to stock?

I'd use SkipSoft Unified Android Toolkit
Toolkits never work that well if you don't understand the underlying processes. I suggest you revert to stock via adb - that way, you know and understand what exactly you're doing to your phone.
There is a revert to stock guide here.
