Hi there,
I was wondering if I can restore my s3 back to original rom using my MAC computer. I have to send it back to my provider to fix so I need the original ROM back on but my house only has MACs. Any input will be appreciated. Also if you could provide me with the steps on how to restore it.. i tried looking but no success. Thanks
I came from sprint with their variant of the s2 I believe that you can use a program called heimdal I'm sure a Google search could help you find out more about it and how to use it
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
Im only posting here because google was useless. Kept giving me the steps on how to do it on regular PC
Simple Google search.

Oy vey. Once again, as I told someone in another thread, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read the stickied posts before you create a new thread. There's a really well-titled one you should read in particular: Don't Start A New Thread - HTC Espresso:MyTouch 3G Slide Questions & Answers Here!
And this should have really been posted in the Slide Q&A Forum...
But, with that said, these rooting instructions work perfectly fine on a Mac.
Can someone please give me a link on how to disable the software update instead of just deferring it? I searched and can't find anything
Not sure. This should ne in general forum. Might have better luck there.
Clear cache in recovery mode. It worked for me after the update was downloaded. It hasn't bothered me since

freeze or delete com.smithmicro.DM. Worked for me.

In short - no, there are libraries that need to be copied over with the apks. Also, you may get better responses in the actual t-mobile GS3 forum.

As long as its a T-Mobile t989 s2
go to http://techerratta.com/browse/twrp2/hercules
Download 2.6 tar file and use use Odin to install, and remember the phone is only as crappy as u let it become, u could always use kies to update to official 4.1.2

The internal components of the phone are there to work on mobile networks, it's the IMEIs are missing.
It's a blanket rule of XDA Devs to not talk about IMEI modification so I'm gonna quit while I'm ahead. Google is all you need

Yep, if the IMEI is all 0's, there are definitely ways to put a working valid one on there
