Hello I tried searching but I couldn't find anything but I am running cyanogenmod the final release on my g2 and I was wondering if there is a way to set my phone so when I open the screen it doesn't automatically unlock but instead it just shows the lockscreen and let's me unlock it manually. Thanks!

I'm assuming you mean when you slide the screen open it unlocks automatically...
If so, then no, there's no way to manually unlock it
well if you run a sense based rom it may work like that, its how mine does what your asking, unfortunatley cyanogenmod does not
you could put in a password or something that will instantly activate, but that may be more trouble than its worth.

The only way I know to do this is to set a pattern/password unlock.

change the button behaviors on cyanogenmod setting. you must have something on since when i use it the trackpad it only wakes the phone and not unlock it, so i slide it down manually to unlock it.

Yes, there is. It needs to be modded in the framework.
I see. I guess I will have to put some type of pass on it then because my phone sometimes opens up accidentally then apps get launched and all kinds of things lol. Thanks again for all of the helpful quick responses though!

Buy widgetlocker. You can customize your lockscreen and it stays locked after opening.

A friend of mine accidentally had her lock pattern changed by her daughter, and cannot unlock her phone. Any way to bypass this so she can get it unlocked?

Try to unlock a couple times with the wrong pattern and i think it should ask for gmail&password
-My life is a shooting range, people never change-
Tried that. It just kicks her back to the gmail login screen. But, she can login from her computer just fine. Weird.

I am running stock and just wondering if this happens to anyone else?
Most of the time it shows the clock and some info. But sometimes this happens
This happens to me with the face unlock and pattern methods. It's way off to the side so I can't properly input my pattern

I use pattern unlock, but I've never had that problem. I'm still running RC2 of Blackedition ICS though.
is there a non root way to disable and enable it? i was using button savior no root and i prefer it over the nav bar
i would root but with no pc, making a backup to unlock my bootloader is quite a hassle
unless somebody knows how to root without wiping?

nobody knows?

You need root. I heard a rumor that there was a way to unlock without wiping data now but if so I don't know the procedure. It wouldn't be the OEM unlock if so.

Root is the only way to go to do what you are looking for. And the only rom I know of that allows for nav bar mods, such as removing it, is aokp.

Is anyone else using jellytime version 7? I know its kinda old but whenever I go to unlock my phone its just a black screen with the backlight lit up and I have to relock and unlock to see anything. The lock screen shows up fine every time just after unlocking this occurs. Any ideas?
