Why is it that everytime I tend to recieve an mms message It seems it tries to download but it never achieves, always fails makes mms useless really. And this is rooted as well as non rooted its just something that continues to occur no matter what on data and wifi . . . Any help will be gladly appreciated. This is the only problem I hate with this android phone

If this happens even on unrooted stock I would try to call TMobile about it - perhaps there is something wonky on the account or something (just guessing, no clue really).

What apn are you using? If your still using the epc.tmobile.com it won't download mms or anything for that matter anymore.

It is no longer where I found it on my current rom.. it was in messages then settings. . 8v war recently having the problem after flashing a new rom and using exposed settings.. so I wiped, wiped again and flashed all new. . No more problems but the setting I used on 4.1.1 is not the on 4.1.2 :'(

I have my Droid Incredible flashed onto MetroPCS btw. Any suggestions?

I deleted my apn then used restore and nothing happened. 3g and internet work, just not mms if that helps.

Restoring a bad default still leaves you with a bad default.
See the below link on how to fix it. Use MNC of 012 instead of what the guide says.

No I restored the one that the person who flashed my phone originally used, but it still didn't work.
And I noticed in the link that you sent me, it says Verizon, will that still work on my flashed Dinc on MetroPCS?

As I said, restoring a bad default is still bad. I missed that MetroPCS was a carrier, the verizon APN will not work for that and you'll have to find their APN.
So even know the old xml file use to work It's a bad default now? By the way, I've googled and have downloaded apns from places but mms still will not work.

If it used to work then something broke it, which could be a handful of things, from a rom update to something else. The easiest way is to still make sure your APNs are correct. If you think it's the stock messaging app, try a 3rd party.

Is your WiFi on? Some ROMs have a bug where MMS does not work unless WiFi is off and 3g is enabled.

It's a known problem. I had it on CM7 and CM9, but Albinoman's JB ROM seems to send them just fine.

I reverted to stock after trying a few versions of CM9 and never being able to get MMS to work. Was leery of trying any add'l ROMs 'cause I didn't want to lose MMS (or other core functionality). After the glowing reviews for Albinoman's JB ROM, I took the plunge and have been very happy. MMS are no problem. (There are a couple of other things not working, but generally 3rd party apps will work around those issues. Only prob I haven't seen a solution for is Netflix doesn't work...but I don't think there's any JB ROM for the Inc that has Netflix working.)
Okay, once I rooted/unlocked my HTC One V, before I even installed a custon ROM, I noticed I now received video messages split into two files both audio/video and majority of the time the split file ends up being bigger in size than the original sent file. This only started happening after unlocking/rooting my phone, and reinstalling a RUU/installing a custom ROM has never fixed the issue, do any of you have this issue at all, or can offer any advice on a fix? It does this in any SMS/MMS app like stock/SMS Pro, but with pro it plays the files in unisome instead of one after the other.
Now along with the unlock came a wipe, and for some reason that wiped out my APN settings, this is were the trouble began, I was able to manually configure my APN settings through finding the settings by doing a Voice Search, as the APN configuration is hidden on my phone. The above may be true, but theres TONS of people helping people here, so it does not hurt to ask if anyone has the same problem, I seen a similar post here about the issue on a different phone two years ago, and PM'ed him but never got a reply on what all he did to fix it...

Just throwing this out there : But, at least for me on CM10 jb 4.1.1, MMS doesn't work on Pansi sms and keeps crashing. I use the stock messaging app instead
Hey im from the sprint galaxy note 2 forum and the screen wake on when receiving a text was annoying so I figured you guys could use a fix for it if you dont like your screen turning on...this is without using go sms or light flow or any other app this will work right away with stock message app so if you like the fix hit the thanks button

Im on a deoxed rom with perseus kernel....
I flashed the zip...I followed your directions.. I looked at the screenshot from your main thread it shows the setting option to turn the screen on/off in notifications...
Well I flashed this and didnt see that option, but I tested it and used my wifes phone to text me it works the screen doesn't come on while off...heres the screenshot

Yeah the screen shot on my main thread is from the old modded SecMms I had wich had the option but I compiled a new one and its automatically disabled ..on my thread the new 11/17 build is like the one I made for you guys were it disables it so no need to click anything on settings, do you get me? As soon as you flash it when u receive a text your screen wont turn on so its supposed to be like that just flash and your good to go

Theirs no diference I mean their both on gsm networks so if you wanna install the mod it would work, I had someone from a t-mobile note 2 said the mod worked on their phone so it should work with your phone as well. .try it and let me know if you have any issues and I will help out and backup your rogers sms apk before u try just to be safe

Im not trying to be a douche but if you read my post I did say, this without using "go sms" or light flow or any other app so obviously people would know that so if you wanna use go sms thats fine but unlike you some other people may want to use the stock sms without having to install any other messaging app. .

THIS IS For people that want stock sms and the function of disable wakeup screen...most of us know what 3rd parties sms apps are capable of!! NOone is asking for another app...

No sorry as you need to decompile the apk in order to modify the smali for it and recompile it back after without breaking anything

does this modify any incoming sms timestamps or just alter some system setting to keep the screen off? im asking because im using this wonderful feature but i have an issue with ATT rom on my Rogers network where my SMS has a 5 hour timestamp difference? Any idea...

It doesnt alter any timestamps or anything, your the first to report this..try going to settings manage applications and click on all and look for the messaging app and clear cache and data on it and use rom manager if u have it to fix all permissions and reboot and see if it works now

Everything else will work as it did the only thing that was modified was to just disable the screen from turning on when receiving a message...notification sound and LED will work

there is no problem with wifi it is the problem with rom as when you install whatsapp on a custom rom it sometimes gives you problem also pt this issue after the dev of the rom @pawitp he will definitely think on this matter and as cm 11 is in initial stages and these problem may occur

i dont think its anything like that. actually i had same problem earlier (As i did restore titanium backup file) . time i was srecieving msgs in my case was that msgs recieved recently was showing a time of 10mins ago..simply reinstall ! fixed problem in my case! :cyclops: ..also i wasnt able to get notifications in notification bar..but wen i usd to open whatsapp,,there bunch of msgs were suddenly usd to pop up! (if that's in ur case too!)...
Oh yes actually I am also using titanium backup,so I will try to reinstall:thumbup:

My wife's phone has in the last 2 weeks has started not sending out some text messages and not receiving others. the messages will show as sent from her phone but never actually arrived on the other device. I can send a text message from my phone and it will show sent but it will never arrive on her device. we did a test sending numbers back and forth starting at one and I will reply with 2 and so on and so on. It missed 5 out of 10 text messages .
has anyone else experienced an issue like this or know a possible fix. I have tried clearing out her cache and dalvik, deleting all of her text messages, and obviously rebooting the phone with no luck. I almost want to say it's a network issue and not the phone. That's why I am waiting before I completely re flash her phone

This seems to be a problem on the CM12 based Roms. I went back to LG's stock roms and it works again.

It's not just this phone, it's a network thing probably related to their network revamping.

I flashed stock rooted from XDA when 10r came out initially. Has worked great until about a week ago

It's most likely network related, there are times when my gf texts me and I never receive it or it's pretty LATE. It's probably 49/50 texts I never get it. It's Tmobile because I tested it on my Note 4, an iphone 6, and a lg g3.
