I was Wondering if there were any mods of some sort that would give me / us (XDA) a way to get the lockcreen ( lock type: swipe) on a pattern type lock screen because I'm sure that the community loves the lock screen features which came with our s4.

Yeah i hear ya bro. It used to be an option on the MDL firmware, but it seems like in the later firmwares having the swipe to unlock WITH the pattern lockscreen was removed. At the moment i'm using widgetlocker which gives me that ability, but i would much prefer to have the stock lockscreen with that functionality.

Had this phone for Two days now and LOVE it. Way better then evo 3d I had. Only issue I have is I struggle to unlock it every time. Maybe the size maybe the touchwiz screen. Either way it makes me crazy. Anyone make a suggestion of a different lock screen that is stable and won't mess up the excellent battery life.
Btw I have no interest in rooting but don't mind buying an app if needed. Also I have no issue with other parts of touchwiz just the lock screen.
I use widget locker. You can set that up any way you'd like. I have the stock aosp lock screen. Does wonders.

So widget locker let's you change the stock lock screen? What does it mean when you say you have the aosp lock screen? Thanks

Widget locker allows you to customize the lockscreen with a ot of different options. So the AOSP lockscreen is when you slide the icon across to unlock you phone. It is Androids stock lock screen that ships with Android if Samsung or HTC wouldn't add their own.
Agile lock is pretty good too. It gives you a lockscreen similar to sense 3.0

I replaced my stock lock screen with widget locker and haven't experienced any problems (including battery life). It could be that people using widget locker are placing battery intensive widgets on their lockscreen.
Yeah I haven't had any problems with battery life or any slow downs either. This phone handles the battery and speed well. You can set it up however you like, the possibilities are endless. You can even download themes. I just like it so much because I don't have to use the original lock screen for our phone.

Thanks again! I downloaded and have been playing with widget locker and love it so far. Only question I have is ... Is there some way to get rid of the icon in the notification bar that shows widget locker ongoing. I keep thinking there is something I have not checked and it kinda bothers me. Tried to find a setting to get rid if it but no luck. Thanks again

Hi,
I used to have an HTC One S phone but sold it and and decided to get a SGS3 phone instead. I'm very familiar with rooting and roms. I'm loving my SGS3 lockscreen and would like to keep it but I know I will lose it if I ROM. Does anyone know of a ROM or mod that will let me have the SGS3 lockscreen? This is what is keeping me from ROMing, I love the lockscreen...
What exactly about the lock screen is it that you enjoy? If it's the app shortcuts, many ROMs include the option to have up to 8 lock screen targets. Super useful!

most of the ROMs on the Android Development (not Original) section have TouchWiz-based ROMs.
just go in there and browse around until you see something that catches your eye.
i too like the TouchWiz lockscreen. but only because you have shortcuts AND security-based unlock.

What I like specifically is the ripple effect.
If you use a TW custom rom you will have the ripple effect lock screen. I'm using the black jelly bean rom and the rom has it.

Everyone recieved a 'thank you' hit! Thanks!
Thanks! And I woud like to second the recommendation for BlackJelly if the Touchwiz flavor is your preference. I personally prefer AOKP, but to each their own.
Not sure if this has been asked before but is there a way to get the lock screen from stock touch wiz on cm10?

it's been so long since I've used stock Touchwiz, I forgot what the lock-screen is like. it might help others to if you point out which features on the stock lock-screen you liked that you don't have on CM10. You may be interested in AOKP which has a lot of lock screen modifications.

I liked how the yahoo news was on it. And that you could swipe it up to display more news content.

I love the ability to add dashclock extensions to the lockscreen, but as of right now, enabling pattern unlock or password unlock in lockscreen settings turns off the "multiple widgets" feature. That is, the only thing on the lockscreen is the default clock. I was excited about 4.2.2 because of dashclock and was hoping someone could make a mod that fixed this issue. I'm rooted on baseband MDL

I was disappointed as well but fix the problem after installing "smart lock". It is not as fancy as the stock lock but it allows you to use Dashclock and all other widgets you want.
I don't have the link but just search for it here.

Hi all,
I really like the stock lock screen, mostly because of the clock but I dont like the way I have to drag shortcuts to unlock the phone to that app. It's there a way to mod the stock lock screen so I can slide the lock icon in a specific direction to unlock a specific app, like AOSP? Thanks
