no need to worry mate...
all you need to do is get into bootloader ode and if you are successful in it you will be able to flash new roms..
first of all download a kernel compatible kernel with the rom you wish to install..
then boot into bootloader mode (if u r stuck in recovery power off your phone then press volume up+power simultaneously.)
then flash the correct kernel using fastboot.
finally flash rom in recovery...
hope it helps..

[Q] Back to recovery custom rom

I think this is the safest topic to post my problem....
I've installed this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2263625
I'm not really happy with it, but I cannot go back to recovery mode. I did it before by tapping the sony logo, but it's not there anymore. I'm tapping a lot but nothing happens.
How do I do that???
Try to reflash the recovery again. Or flash kernel which contain recovery if you bootloader is unlocked.
Maybe press vol+ when kernel logo appears? Mine work like that in Xperia Ion with TWRP.
Worked Arnob, but I can't install my old rom. When I walk through the setup it installs it, but when i reboot it's stuck in looping the trinity rom

I just want to make sure, do you keep holding vol-down while turning on the phone? I suppose it should load hboot when doing this. Keep trying maybe?

I doubt a bit if this is because of the wrong kernel. I suppose this function is called in the boot loader phase and should not depend on a kernel. I might be wrong of course.
Could it be that you have the volume button broken? Just a guess...

That might seem to be the problem, Do this, Hold down the power button and try to Power off the phone.. If you did that successfully, now hit power button and volume down button immediately And this will get you to Hboot, now flash the appropriate kernel and reboot the phone.

[Q] Bootloop and then volume buttons not working !!

Guys I need help to resolve this...
I flashed Carbon rom yesterday and it worked well for a while.. But then once the phone rebooted after hanging and it went into a bootloop.. Unfortunately when i went into the bootloader with BACK+POWER i realized that both volume buttons are not working.. (prev only down vol wasnt working)
Now i cant enter recovery without volume buttons. I tried fastboot method for flashing a stable rom like cm7 but then realized that a custom ROM cant be flashed like that ...
What is a way out now ?? Do i need to flash the rom.zip from original RUU.exe through fastboot ??
if yes then do i need to flash the stock hboot first with large cache ??
and also how to get the correct RUU for your phone to prevent brick ??
Any help will be appreciated.
ps... I tried repairing volume buttons at a repair store.. They could not repair it.

I'm not sure if flashing the stock rom would help but you can try, so first flash the stock hboot from alpharev but the easy way you have to use the volume controls the other way you have to through fastboot usb using pc so you would have to look through the guide, u can flash the 2.3.3 ruu through pc but I think it will automatically make hboot stock.

Put recovery.img (4ext) inside ur fastboot folder on pc then boot ur phone into fastboot, then plug it into pc and open cammand window and type
fastboot boot recovery.img
That will boot u into recovery and u can flash a rom or nandroid backup if u have one.
ok thanks.. will try flashing a RUU. Thats m only hope now i guess..
I was wondering why cant custom roms be flashed through fastboot method ?? The phone checks for some android info file which has CID info i think.. Why cant this information be incorporated into a custom rom ??

Did u partition ur sdcard before flashing any rom?
I forgot to ask... but where to get 4ext recovery.img ???
I have partitioned my sd card a long time back when i first rooted the phone... Nothing new now.. I just flashed carbon kitkat rom like usual method.. it worked for a day and then after reboot went into a bootloop... I guess there is some kernel issue with that ROM.

Voila .. that worked like a charm
Thanks a ton friend.
I guess now that my volume buttons aint working I will have to rely on this method to get into recovery whenever there is a bootloop.. and ofcourse I have to hope that the back button keeps working.. If back button goes then it will be an end.
