Wierdly enough, this hapend to me too, yesterday. I m on viper 3.7.5. I think the battery. Was not calibrated properly.
Sent from my Viper HOX

If that is the problem, then I have a way to recalibrate the battery : 1) power off .. 2) charge for 10 min .. 3) press the power key and both the volume keys for 2 straight minutes .. Aaand that should recalibrate the battery

Battery status jumps from 70 to 100 ??

My Desire battery while charging the status jumps from 70 % to 100% immediately.
I have been using battery calibrator application.
If the battery is fully charged, my desire turns off at 30%. That means in anyway my desire only uses 70% of the battery.
:cryingls help me
try this
Charge till full when powered on
power off
charge till full again
boot into recovery
wipe battery stats
boot and continue to use as normal
Thanx... Will try this...

Sorry.. I missed the last step in my previous post. Allow the battery to drain completely before charging again..
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda app-developers app
yh, in the app once u check the boxes in settings and set the values in learn prep, turn on learn mode and drain ur battery, once it hits the value, a popup screen will say learn mode detected, plug in charger. (or something like that) just have the charger ready coz u only got a few seconds to plug it in then it shuts down lol

Nothing works for me... I followed the battery calibration steps.. But fails.. Still have the same issue...
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda app-developers app
Do you have these problems when you charge via usb or directly from the plug? As the second procedure is much faster, you can have some erroneous battery capacity readings from time to time, especially in (not really old but still bit) aged batteries.
Try before using the calibration tool the following: When the green LED appears, sign of a full charged battery, unplug your charger and turn off your phone for 3-4 minutes (you can even pull off your battery for a while). Turn it on back on, plug the charger and wait until fully charged. At this point reset your battery stats through the calibration app.
edit: oops, it is essentialy the first solution posted but without going into recovery. The calibration tool does this automatically for you.
I have the opposite problem
My charging is quite accurate but while discharging, the phone suddenly dies at a random battery level below 20%, without becoming close to zero

Battery

Any idea why my battery stared out charging to 100% then stopped at 90% now it won't go past 80% and this phone is. Brand new I bought it on around Jan 3 2013 and already battery is dying I have stock odexed rom and stock kernel unlocked boot loader and rooted. Any ideas?

Yeah lol sometimes its just reads it wrong.. it should always fully charge now
Enter CWM Recovery, clear the battery statistics

[Q] Won't charge beyond 57%

For the last 2 days my HOX refuses to charge beyond 57%, I haven't got anything running in the background which could be sucking up the energy as it tries to charge, does this sound like it could be a fault with the battery?
Have you tried battery calibration tool? or reset battery stats etc
Andy
Try charging with the phone switched off.

Well the 7 times vibration is a eMMC crash. Someone's debugged this before leading to the SDIN5C2-8G , MMC/flash Memory IC. A quick search brought up this. A little more digging up brought up its known for HTC to use cheap eMMC's and it is region specific ; has your phone ever crashed before due to low space on the cache partition?

if you don't mind loosing some stuff, since you are all stock and unmodified you best bet would be a factory reset...
You can do that in settings > backup and reset
or
if you can't turn it on go into bootloader by holding power and volume down and using the volume buttons to navigate and power button to select choose factory reset

i did that , dunno for sure if it reset. But now i can't turn the phone on at all.And the red light when it's on charge doesn't turn on now.And i can't turn the phone on at all.not even with the power and volume key.
I am a bit worried because it's a new phone and not rooted or anything.Have no ideea what went wrong.
PS: I'm not a noob when it comes to android.I had some other phone which i rooted changed kernels and etc , used RUT and so on.But no ideea what to do now.
after charging it 20mins it turned on but it's blocked at HTC one logo .and under i have the beataudio logo.
Any help please ?
Return for warranty

no more warranty ...
Then unlock it and flash a custom rom, best chance in fixing it.
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Then unlock the bootloader and wipe everything with a custom recovery...
If that doesn't help, try a custom rom, but be sure to first check if a data wipe as well as a wipe of cache and dalvik cache helps.
And no mater what make a nanroid of the stock rom.
Now the phone doesn't start at all . . . neither is the red light on when i try to charge it . i've been chargin it for ~2hours now...
Any luck at booting the phone ?

charged it all night.nothing in this morning.
no red light no nothing...
It just won't start in any way.
Olso , could this be because maybe , just maybe , i did not install the official update corectly ?
Could this happen because of that ?
I went to a service and they told me they must "rewrite the boot" . can't find anything about that `tho.
I'm from another country and i exactly translated that they said.
what does that mean ?
Could mean all sorts of things, they may flash the bootloader or only the boot.img (kernel) maybe they run a ruu.......can only guess on that.
Did they say something about battery failure and costs ?

I didn't see the option power button+voldown, if I'm not mistaking that is the way to get into fastboot.

Yeah at this point he needs to get somewhere in the phone. Or in android or in bootloader/recovery !
It doesn't start at all. Apart from the keep it on charge and try all button combinations there is absolutely nothing we can do.
