How to backup 'SuperSU' - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My n7105 already rooted and installed with titanium backup.
However, some apps cannnot be run under rooted status, therefore i have to unroot temporarily (uninstall supersu?? ) , but i cannot find this in titanium backup ?
How can i make it ?
Thanks

Just uncheck the box to disable supersu temporarily as shown in the screenshot..enable it and u will have supersu working again as normal..
And no! Dont even try to uninstall supersu coz it will unroot ur phone and u need to follow the whole procedure agin to root ur phone!
〽 ???✌ ?? ????Ⓜ?

〽 ???✌ ?? ????Ⓜ?

To backup supersu, check the system icon as shown in the screenshot.to do this, click on the filter icon (the one with funnel shape icon) check the system apps and u will be able to see system apps since supersu is a system app
〽 ???✌ ?? ????Ⓜ?

It didn't work if uncheck those boxes in supersu.
The phone remains 'modified'.

What hell discussion going here
You can't make backup of superSu and restore like you thinking, if you want to unroot, you have to Root it again. niether you can see superSU in titanium.
Root it not means just pushing SuperSU in system/app
SuperSU itself needs root to work.

There are a few xposed modules that stop an app checking for root. Depending what your trying to do that might work. MoDaCo toolkit works on wallet not sure about others.

Hey, one last attempt - try using Voodo Rootkeeper, has option to temporarily 'unroot'. Dunno how it works, but it has for me before.
One last thing ckc0, don't forget to press thanks button for people who take time to reply to your questions, it means more here than actually typing thanks

NANDROID error

Okay, I used the toolkit to NANDROID backup, 3x 5 minutes apart to be safe. Now that I want to go back after flashing a rom that is force closing eafh restore is throwing an error from the beginning using CWM. Im wanting the stock kernel and rom.
I am aware this was probably user error, nevertheless I need a few pointers.
Thanks in advance,
CJ
First pointer post in the right section and answer use Odin to restore back to factory and possibly restart...

Yes, I use Twrp with N8013. But if I'm plan to flashing all time I use CWM which is very easy to use and if I want for warranty all I do restore to stock. Toolkit , Twrp ,CWM are same depend on your experience and your taste.

Just do what kintwofan said above. You have to use the pay version of TB to do it though.
If you are doing any amount of flashing/restoring ROM's, you will definitely get your $ worth for that app.

A few questions after rooting

To get into fastboot - Vol Up, Power
To get into TWRP - Vol Down x2, Power
What do I need to use to uninstall apps I dont want? Going into something like Google Books and all I see is "Uninstall updates". Do I use something like Titanium Backup to do this?

Ok, more pressing issue now..
Was attempting to disable the camera shutter sound via editing the build.prop file. First round didnt work. I was changing the permissions of the System folder to rw-r-r from whatever it was set to as default. Using Root Browser. I checked the boxes I wanted, then hit back. Phone froze up, I hit power to see what that would do. Now the phone just boots into TWRP...
Im guessing I messed something up. Please help.

How do I do a factory reset from TWRP? Or is that something more involved than Im thinking?
Since I was messing with permissions when things went south, would the "fix permissions" option be a possible solution?

Possibly. When you mess with the build prop, and goof, it usually won't boot. You should have made a back up. Then if no boot, then just restore.
Sent from my LG-LS970 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Factory reset didnt help at all. Nor did Fix permissions.
Looking into things, it looks like I can get a ZIP of whatever ROM I want and use SDK to get it onto my SD card and then just Install that ROM which should solve the issue?
Another option as partimus said.... In TWRP go to wipe, then factory reset.

As long as you have TWRP, if there's not a rom on SD, then yes, you can adb sideload a ROM and install it.

You don't need to install Superuser app as CM11 is already rooted, Uninstall it and install Busybox and then try.

Nandroid Restore Problem Challenge

Hi all, just have a quick question regarding my nandroid backup and restore. Every time I try to restore a nandroid backup of my phone, mostly everything works, however, Amazon App Store will stop allowing me to download any apps at all saying that there is a problem with the connection to the internet error (with 3g or wifi) and my swiftkey will popup in the notification drawer saying that there aren't anymore language packs and when trying to install the language packs back on, they don't download. either. WEIRD thing is, the Play Store still works properly. Only those two apps have issues. Any idea what is wrong with my nandroid backup or restore?
Phone Config:
Galaxy S 4 M919V (Wind Mobile)
Wind Stock 4.4.2 VLUFNB5 Factory Image/Kernel
Rooted with CF-Auto-Root-jfltetmo-jfltetmo-sghm919.tar
Recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.7.0.1-jfltecan
Knox counter tripped 0x1
Anyone see a problem with my config?
Troubleshooting done already
Changed recovery to philz_touch_6.26.6-jflte.tar, tried backup and restore... SAME problem.
Tried Uninstalling and Re-installing apps (with TiBu and Settings App Manager)... still same problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
Try wiping delvik and cache in recovery then reboot. Or you can also try to clear data and cache in those 2 apps and reboot.

Could it be possible that my recoveries aren't completely compatible with my stock firmware? Possibly, a bad flash of recovery? or could it be that the bootloader is screwing something up since the knox bit is tripped? Even when trying to use skipsoft unified android toolkit for my s4, there are backup options that are disabled...
I'd like to get to the bottom of this because not having a proper backup of my system is kicking my ocd's a$$
Try flashing to completely stock and start over

Also attempted that and the same issue. Another thing is, Swiftkey is the actual paid version from app store, so the possibility of having a corrupt apk is slim to none.
Could it possibly be a problem with those specific apps (swiftkey and amazon app store) in which they dont nandroid backup properly or with these custom recoveries that dont backup everything needed for those 2 apps?

I was just thinking...When you changed from TWRP to Philz, did you use Philz to recover your TWRP backup? From my understanding it isnt possible to use a different recovery to restore a backup.

No i tried a backup of each recovery to restore in each recovery.

Try deleting your google account and re-installing it.
system/accounts/google tap on your account and remove it.
turn off and do a bat pull
wait abt a min and power up and go to the google account and install selecting existing account and see if the play store will work for you.
good Luck!

If you changed to Philz while you were already having the issue with the apps and turned around and made a backup, that backup would still have the issues. Lol. Try deleting the apk files and re download the apk

Ya, i know. I started from scratch and attempted to backup and restore when done setting everything up and same weird problem. Could it be that I'm using a tmo cf-root file?

My carrier is Wind Mobile and my phone is an M919V from wind. The tmo cf-root file im using is... CF-Auto-Root-jfltetmo-jfltetmo-sghm919.tar and the recovery im using is openrecovery-twrp-2.7.0.1-jfltecan.tar.

Try skimming through this thread

It lools like cf-root doesn't work on the m919v. It's just what I read but I only skimmed through. Also, you should try an older version of TWRP. I have 2.6 and have never had an issue

Ill give TWRP 2.6 a shot. Have nothing to lose. My root isn't a problem so im not worried about that

I am having the same problem. Went back to a backup from AOSP and now this. Find out anything?

Well, I ended up finding that CWM_6.0.4.7_Touch_GT-I9505 worked out for me using i9505 AOSP Pre-Release from Broodplank. No problems with backup or restore most of the time. I did encounter Swiftkey having the no languages installed problem, but it manages to install the languages again without error, so all is good.
