[Q] HELP! Stuck in Cyanogenmod bootloop - LG Optimus G Pro

So I just recently flashed a port of CM10.1 over to my E980 and when I went to reboot from the recovery I got the LG screen and then the screen when blank and the LED just flashed different colors, this went on for a few hours until I got the CyanogenMod boot screen, it's been on that screen for about 12 hours now. I'm not sure if I can reach CWM where I did a nandroid backup, I know the bootloader's locked, or if it's just taking an extremely absurdly long time to boot. Help
thanks

I'd try yanking the battery.

I tried that, and waited 5 minutes before I replaced it. When I turned it back on it still just flashed the led, just a blank screen this time. I do get a secure booting error when I turn my phone on, I think it's because I flashed CM10.1, but I don't know if that helps.

Which one did you flash? 08-01-2013 or 08-02-2013? Also that ROM takes a long time to boot up. I normally hold the power button until I see the lg logo again if it takes a long time to boot up. Once I do that it pretty much turns on instantly after the lg logo.

I flashed the latest version, so 8/02. I tried holding down the power button and waiting for the second LG screen, but it never came. I managed to reach CWM, but when I tried to restore from my previous backup, it said it couldn't open the directory. I tried doing an advanced restore, but I got the same message. Keep in mind that I do get a secure boot error upon turning on the device.

The secure error is 100% normal. If everything went right installing your recovery, it will display this. Did you factory wipe and clear the cache before you flashed? If not try doing that then try flashing again. Worst case you'll have to use the LG recovery tool. I haven't used it before but there's many guides on how to do it.

I cleared the cache and dalvik, I guess I forgot. Wouldn't the zip be lost when doing a factory reset? I did do a backup within CWM, is there anyway of rooting within download mode?

Unless you're going to a Rom of the same base you're currently running, you always need to factory reset. It backs up data so you won't lose it(your zip). I can't confirm that's what it was but that's what I think it was. Try a factory reset then flashing again.

Can I load the zip from my computer onto my phone in download mode?

I don't believe you can transfer files on download mode, but you can mount your internal sd to the computer if you have access to your recovery. The option would be under mounts.

Just in case you didn't catch it, wiping should not wipe your data which includes your downloads.

[Q] Cracked Screen. How to factory erase

Okay so I know this is probably futile..but I recently cracked my Optimus G screen and I was gonna sell it for parts but I have one dilemma- I cannot wipe my info..I have managed to get into the wipe menu..but for some reason the geniuses at LG designed the phone to require touch input to select the wipe function unlike the power button on other Androids...
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!
I have tried downloading the LG software but that also requires me going into the phone and selecting USB mode which I cannot!
If you have usb debugging ac5ivated you can do it via adb.

Only your recovery and possibly boot partitions are touched, so worst case you can always get to download mode. However if the phone won't turn on at all its something not directly related. What happened before you rebooted into this state?

Mine's doing it too man. Installed the app. Phone is rooted but stock recovery. Let it do its unlock thing and said yes to disable LGE security. Then tried to reboot using the volume and home keys to get to recovery and it gave a "Secure booting failed. Cause: Device Unlocked so boot success!!" message. Then LG logo again then AT&T animation and that's as far as it gets. No recovery menu, no normal boot. Just AT&T.
You get yours figured out yet? We gonna have to LGNPST back to stock?

If you bought the phone within the last 14 days then you can return it if not you can call at&t and speak to warranty and they will send you a warranty replacement your other option is to ask if they have a local warranty center they can try to flash it or exchange it.

Are you sure you were putting it into download mode? You take out the battery. Then put battery back in the phone. THen I believe you hold the volume down key and plug the phone into the computer. Then LGNPST should recognize the phone after you change the COM port to I believe 41 or 42
Edit: You hold BOTH volume keys while plugging the phone into the computer. It needs to be completely off when you do this.
Edit 2: Here's the guide : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2302660
Switch it under device manager to COM port 41. Now flash tools should recognize it.
I'm honestly bummed that I'm now going to have to re-setup everything again. I just had to flash my phone 2 weeks ago to get rid of 2nd Init recovery to install the value pack. Now I get to do it again, then run the update, then re-root, and put my 200+ apps back on, lol. FML. I guess this just isn't the phone the tinker with. Never had any of these issues on my S1, S2, S3, HTC One, One X, Note, etc. Oh well.
Tried it didn't work thanks for the help anyways guys i have a 90 day no questions asked with Costco so i'll take advantage of that any way to export text and call logs? Too much to ask right?

Hey do you remember what version of freegee you installed? I think somehow you might have gotten version 1.0.6 instead of 1.1.0. Ive been through everything and the only thing that could have bricked you was using and older version of freegee. I didn't post on xda till Google showed the updated 1.1.0 version was live but maybe somehow you got an older on?

Help! Unknown bug.

Good evening, friends, my name is Matheus, and recently bought a Galaxy Note2 and S4.
I have a problem in Gnote2, the unit is root, and running Android 4.1.2 Stock Kernel running.
I turn on the machine, use for some time, but if I turn off the screen of the device it shuts down or reincia. It is not heating too.
Tested with a song running with the screen off. When I turn off the screen after 5 seconds the machine hangs and hangs and music is like having a CD Grabbed by scratches.
I hope someone can help me, I can not return this unit, switched with an acquaintance of mine and I have no contact him. Please help me.

1. backup everything
2. factory reset the phone
3. if problem still persists , flash a different kernel compatible with your ROM
4. if still problems... just flash your phone back to stock or a different custom ROM if you want

Perseus kernel installed, shortly after I started the phone was the device to "factory mode" I tried to return the device to the user mode, but when I do it via adb says I have permission denied. Using perseus and Hakwkish rom. How can I disable the factory mode? It has to be via recovery? Or may be with the device attached to the computer with the USB debugging mode on? I'm still having the same problem. It has something to do with the "Factory Mode"? I appreciate the response.

I traded my old Galaxy Note with a friend, for a galaxy note 2, the model is GT N7100 he gave me it with the Stock ROM. But the device was in factory mode, shows a pop up in the middle of the screen that does not go away, just giving commands in adb. Hakwkish did flash rom, but the problem persisted. I removed the unit from the factory mode, the flash did perseus kernel. But the same problem persists, do not know what else to do. Is it a physical defect? I'm running Android 4.1.2 official Samsung. Shortly before replacing the device with my friend, I realized this bug. Sorry not able to post more detailed information on the subject. I am sending this for my other phone.

[Q] Bootloop help!

Hello guys, I'm sorry if i posted this here, i cant seem to find a forum about LG D686 dual.
so heres my problem, last night, I tried using LG User Support Tool, then a pop up appeared that there is a new software update for my phone(i believe it is a kitkat update bc i had an OTA notif for a new OS upgrade last few days before this happened) , and of course i did a backup of my files using LG Backup then proceeded to update my phone using the LG tool. Now, after downloading, updating and stuff finished, I got stuck in the logo. I tried using the hard reset method "power+vol down" trick but it doesn't work. but i can go to "download mode". what did i do that this happened?

[Q] Having trouble installing recovery (no data connection)

A co worker gave me this ATT unlocked LG Optimus G that he has royally screwed up.
When you turn on wifi it goes into a constant reboot (also does this in airplane mode)
When the sim card is installed an error keeps flashing something android process has stopped.
What i gathered from the conversation is that he rooted it and deleted stuff and then tried to do a factory reset.
He never put a custom rom on it.
I managed to get the get the apk for CRM and put it on the phone using the bluetooth .
NOw when you open the ap it wants to install the recovery manager.Problem is that there is no internet
any suggestions?
