Hello
I want to know is it possible to replace the stock low ppi screen with an aftermarket high resolution screen? I know someone replaced their s3 with an IPS LCD screen. Does anyone know if there is a high resolution screen for S2?
Thanks.
Anyone knows?

My new Nexus has this bluish tint to the whites when not looking at the screen straight. I also noticed the same thing on a galaxy s2 over this weekend at the T-Mobile store. Is this a common thing on this phone and does anyone else have this?

Yes it is there since the original Galaxy S.
It's AMOLED, not LCD. I mean it's the screen technology that's producing that output, not the phone or something else. Google it, because it's a generic "problem".
OK, the reason why I asked thus is because I still have like 2 days to report anything defective with my phone.

It's normal. N1, SGS2 are like this too

It's a very common "issue", my GSII suffers from the same defect, but I can say that not all screens have the same degree of bluish when tilted (I've seen a few GSII that has quite no bluish at all).
Some says that it's the display coating, don't know for sure, I suggest you to check other GN (if you can, of course) and evaluate yourselt if your is more or less bluish that others
Everything on my screen seems smaller than on my galaxy s 2 . And the Colors on my gs2 seem to be more vibrant as well even on full brightness here. Shouldnt super amoled HD look better than super amoled plus or am I just beggin

I don't know much about differences in screen besides what DPI and resolution is, but yesterday I was looking at some pictures and icons on my S3 and iPod 4gen and I noticed that the iPod screen was much much brighter than the S3. And because of that I was able to distinguish gradients and textures better.
So my question is, is the screen on the S3 dimmer than on purpose or is my screen defective.
-- just in case anyone was wondering I had both devices on full brightness.
--something I noticed was that if I put the iPod at half brightness, then that would be about as bright as my S3 on FULL brightness.

Did you try turning the brightness on your s3 up?
Edit: oops I see that you did. I dunno take it to a store and compare your screen to another s3.

Yes. The screen is dimmer. Samsung cut the maximum display power to 1.3 watts allowing for a longer battery life because of how big the screen is. Also has to do with the candelas per sq inch on a screen.

Ah I see. Is there a way to maybe to make the screen brighter some how by increasing the voltage or something.

You are comparing apples to oranges. The S3 uses samoled+, which presents blacks much deeper and whites so so. This makes for brighter whites and not so deep whites on the crapples devices giving the illusion of brighter screens. Just like comparing a plasma to an LCD. Yes there is an app to make the screen brighter, and you must be rooted. Just install the app and run it, must be clicked once per boot to work as it runs a command in the interactive shell.
Thread cleaned a bit.
Always fond of this saying: "Work the problem, not each other."
Has anybody else used that apk? Does it work? I don't want to mess up my brightness levels using it. I should be able to reboot and go back to normal but still cautious about trying it.

I just installed it and ran it. I granted it permission but I don't see any difference.
Thanks for the info on the screen by the way

You have to have autobrightness disabled and turn the brightness all the way down before running it. I am using it and the results are blinding !

Lol why do you need it brighter? It blinds me on full brightness. I always keep my half way and it's perfect.

I still can't get it to work. I turn off automatic brightness, then lower it all down and run the app, then increase the brightness back up and still the same.

Is anyone having issues with their AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 2? Particularly blobs, vertical, horizontal, dark black lines, viewed in low-brightness settings? AMOLED AMOLED AMOLED, anyone?
Sounds defective to me.

That's not an amoled issue...that's a defective screen issue.

Go to LCD TEST *#0*#
post your results here
A bunch of Verizon Note 2's have the AMOLED issue, any AT&T customer have it?
i have the blotches it as well :\
sucks that its defective, gonna have to go and exchange it for another
I have a problem with it in dim mode, I can see it flicker (refresh rate) it seems to me that they reduce the refresh rate to control the brightness, it causes a strobe effect. I just leave mine at the brightness that I stop seeing the strobe.
^^^ doesn't sound normal to me
try disabling auto-brightness
I have the blob thing on my screen! This person is NOT trolling.. I have no idea how to fix this and am despretley looking for a fix.. It's like a 1 inch dark blob visible at night with brightness all the way down.. ANNOYING when reading articles late at night. Anyone know any fixes?

I had the issue with blobs and lines on my Skyrocket screen, but don't see the same on my Note 2.
I exchanged my first Skyrocket because of it and the second had the same issue so I just settled.
Called At&t and just received my replacement phone. Its Perfect
