Hey I don't know if anyone has had this problem. On both my s4 and Note 2 when I download an image from the internet the photos dont show up in my gallery right away, they do show up in my downloads folder but that isnt where I need them and I dont want to restart my phone everytime I download image. Does anyone know how to fix this flaw? Thanks in advance

Have you tried to create a downloads folder in your DCIM directory and move the pictures to there after downloading. I know that's a little more work than it really should be, just throwing an option out.

Hi guys..
I have this annoying problem with my arc.. Can't figure out or find any simpler thread talking about it..
The problem is when I make any new folder lets call it "whatever" and try to put all my files and stuff in it.. Untill some sort number of files the system will not able to show any new file has been added (using any file browser apps) but they actually still There.. I can access them by write the exact link starting from /sdard/ till the file's name.. Same problem happens to system's folder like "Download"..
If I plugin my arc to Windows I can see all the files.. So the problem is related to android system
Can anyone please why this happen and how to solve it

its ok...but i have no idea about that...
I have a bunch of files here I use as wallpaper and I want to use them again on the One X. I have resize them already. I just want to use them now on the phone.
I transferred them into the "My Documents" folder in USB storage but when I tried to change the wallpaper it seems there's no way to specify a custom location. Probably something I don't know as I just got my first Android yesterday. I was coming in from the 4s.
Searching the net didn't turn up anything useful.
Thanks!

where do I do that? I tried gallery and it doesn't work.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm using cm10 and I can see the images now BUT when I want to make it my wallpaper (I'm using settings), it wants me to crop it. I believe the images are in the right size already. 720x1280 resolution.
Am I doing something wrong? thanks!

You need to use a file browser however. Something that should be the first thing you explain to new user of Android They will need to download one of these from the Play store.
Seriously though the easiest step for a new user, just connect the phone to your computer and move the pictures you put on the HTC Storage into the Pictures folder. Done......

Wrong resolution. The wallpaper scrolls. Google is your friend...

I just use the Personalise option to change wallpaper and select the one on my SD card I want to use and then drag the border about to select the whole picture. I store my wallpaper in a folder called 'Wallpaper' (original eh?) on the root of the SD card

Well, now, I do the same. I even picked the same folder name. Who'd a thunk it eh?
Just worth mentioning that you can only select the whole picture if it's the right aspect ratio to start with as the aspect ratio of the selected area is fixed.
Apparently 1440x1280 is optimal!
Do I need to root the phone first ?
Hi all,
Is there any way to remove some folders of the SDcard to not be searched by the photo album?
I have many gifs that i dont want to show in there.
I searched the manual of the phone but didnt find any way to do that.

did that, add the file and restarted the phone but it didnt work, try with the app, same result
EDIT: Solved by clearing data/cache from album app.
I'm signing on late here, but the app File Copy will hide those kind of files if you don't want to delete them. (The name is deliberately misleading.) It's in the Play Store.

I just keep a .nomedia file handy somewhere where it is not in the way, and copypaste it when- and whereever necessary. No need for PC, no need for anything. Some file explorers also let you create files on the go.
But I would very much like to get rid of the flikr, play-memories and other integrated crap folders. any ideas?

Usually gallery doesn't show the files in the folder starting with a dot " . " . They are hidden folders. Another time this will happen is when you have a "nomedia" file in the folder. If one of this is the problem you can check it by going thorough a file manager app like ES. You to turn ON "Show hidden files" in settings.

If your gallery is not working, there are many gallery apps available on the play store. Try one of them.
i have the newest update of the note 5 installed and the At&t ringtones are not there (even in the root file directory), they somehow went missing, dont ask me how because your guess is as good as mine, and i actually liked the newest version of the AT&T Firefly ringtone(nougat version of at&t firefly), it was a really cool ringtone. i was wondering if anyone can send me the ringtones because i cant find them on the web anywhere. Please and Thank You!

What you could do, and I just thought of this btw...is you download an app called es file manager, once done click on internal storage, after there should be like a little address bar in top, I believe you click the slash, then you navigate to system, media, audio, and then ringtones, look for firefly and then hold down and click copy, navigate to your downloads in your internal storage and paste it there, from there you can do 1 of 2 things, connect your phone to a computer and get it from your downloads and upload it somewhere and send me the link, or you can do the samething but with google drive with out connecting to the computer and send the link that way.
