-Press Vol+ and Vol- and hold them
-Press Power button and hold

TIP: Enter into Safe Mode:
-Tur off your phone

Hope this info can be useful for somebody
I'm just sharing some questions...
-Is posible to flash a flashable zip using aply update from external storage or only *.APP files?
-What is update from cache?
-"This phone is LOCK state", what is locked? Bootloader, SIM lock, ...?
Thanks for sharing this. Very useful!

Just tried apply update from cache, it's a selector (like select .zip from sd-card on normal CWM) but for the cache partition.
this may be useful, because when I do apply update from external storage it says: failed to mount /sdcard
AUTO Update
Make sure you don't have a /dload/Update.app folder because it will auto start the update.
if you need to go to recovery, you must plug your phone to the PC or to the charger and hold the volume up and power button.

Power off the phone and then press and hold power + volume down to boot into the boot loader

Reboot into recovery (turn on USB debugging and run “adb reboot recovery” or power down the phone and then press and hold power and volume down)
Press volume down once, then press the power button to select Recovery
Press power and volume up to bring up the recovery menu.
Use the volume rocker to highlight apply update.zip, then power to run it
Reboot the phone when prompted.
Go to Settings > About phone > Software information > Baseband version and verify that it’s 2.05.00.06.11.
You can now re-root your phone by running Unrevoked 3 and make a new Stock + OTA Antenna backup in nandroid.
I was following these instructions to update my radio... I am at the point where I've put the update.zip file on my sd card and I am rebooting into recovery. My device now displays a black screen with a red triangle/! over a picture of a device... I pulled the battery once and the device powered on, so I tried again and I have the same red triangle/! over a picture of a device... WHAT DO I DO?

Trying to a manual update on a stock phone, hold power button and volume up keys get bootloader, reboot, reboot bootloader, power down, select bootloader now I have a menu of fastboot, recovery, clear storage, simlock, hboot usb select recovery and reboots superquick and goes back to the first menu bootloader reboot reboot bootloader power down. Thats it keeps the same cycle, nothing about apply update. What am I missing? This was a replacement phone that came with the OTA update already applied.

this post makes no sense. if youre trying to do a manual update you go to settings, system updates, and take it from there. if you're not rooted you will not have a recovery image on your phone and can only load stock roms.
this is from another forum:
USB Cable
- Mount phone on EVO (you should see USB icon in status bar at top of your screen on EVO. Pull down status bar and click the USB icon. Mount)
- Copy downloaded file onto SD card listed in My Computer. (Just drag it on there)
- Unmount SD card and unplug USB Cable
- Turn off EVO
- Hold down the VOLUME UP button and push the power button
- Use the VOLUME button to select RECOVERY mode and push the power button to select
- Once in Recovery mode Select “apply update.zip” or “install from .zip” (depending on your recovery image)
DO NOT UNZIP THE FILE
YOU DO NOT NEED ROOT
Is this incorrect? Just trying to install the froyo update file from HTC.

he left a step out. if you are not rooted you will not have a recovery menu. So once you select recovery you will get stuck on a screen. once you are stuck on that screen press volume up and power at the same time (it may take a couple of tries) then an option to apply zip will pop up and it will then install.
thanks p-slim... will give it another go. so far it has just been looping inbetween the menus. thanks again
Well I dont know what went wrong it just kept looping between the menus. I justed rooted it and went on.
after youre done rooting, you need to remove or rename the PC36IMG zip file. otherwise you cant get into recovery.

You should install 'Quick boot' from the market. You need root access to use this app. You can also connect your phone to your PC and use ADB to reboot the phone in bootloader mode with the following adb command: adb reboot bootloader.
You mean the hboot menu? Press and hold back and power button, and when fastboot screen appears, press power button. Now you are in hboot.
You can install "ROM manager" , it can reboot into the Recovery(CWM)
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
thanx to all above for your valuable reply..

As far as I know, there isn't any .exe file in an android operating system. And for your problem, you should do something like this:
1. If you're on Windows:
- make sure that you have the android sdk downloaded;
- make sure the drivers for HTC Desire are installed on your pc / laptop
- go to platform-tools, hold the SHIFT button from your keyboard pressed and, while holding it, press the right mouse button in that folder. The right click menu will appear, but having an extra option "Open Command Window Here" or something like that;
- connect your phone cable to your pc / laptop;
- plug the cable into your phone;
- in the command prompt window opened earlier write "adb shell reboot recovery" to go into recovery, "adb shell reboot" to simply reboot or "adb shell reboot bootloader" to boot into the bootloader;
2. If you're on Linux:
- open terminal;
- cd /to/the/android/sdk/path;
- cd /platform-tools;
- use the commands I wrote above, the ones including adb;
If your existing rom allows it, if you press and hold power button, choose restart, then you can get a mini menu with the option to boot into recovery. You can then use the recovery to flash the new rom.
Another option is 4ext recovery - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1408936
It will install a new recovery on your phone - but it is pretty cool. You can use the touchscreen to navigate rather than volume buttons (handy if your volume is stuffed) You can also use the app to launch the recovery.
I am also having a similar problem .I was trying to install superuser in a .zip file ,but now I have ended up in a boot loop ,I am not able to go to the boot menu .................

Take the battery out, then boot in hboot (if your volume buttons are not working, press Power+Back button, then select Bootloader), then recovery and restore your backup (you should have done one) or reflash your rom.
Hello,
Recently I got my Device updated to last firmware, and since after all problems started to appear.
I tried to Download last firmware from the page and to manually install it but failed since mobile is not PC can't read the mobile on USB. (zip file doesn't contain recovery.img or system.img)
When I use recovery from boot screen it shows the logo and stuck
Mobile is not rooted or anything, if there's anyway to recover it, I'd be glad to hear it.
zc500tg boot loop
same problem for me after the last update
I can't enter to recovery mode. tried some combination like volume down + power , vol up + power , vol up + vol down in "no command" page but i couldn't see the recovery mode options
hey I found the solution
1. Turn off the phone, either by regular shutdown or by removing and reinserting the battery.
2. Hold volume up+power button until phone vibrates.
3. Phone should boot to Bootloader Mode. In this mode, volume up is select, volume down is "OK".
4. Using volume up, scroll to Recovery Mode and press volume down to confirm.
5. When you see the "No command." icon, hold power, and press volume up once to access Recovery Mode.
6.download the firmware zip file . place the firmware file on your microsd card and insert it to the phone.
Go to recovery mode>choose apply update from sdcards>choose the firmware you copied earlier>then wait for process completed.
If the installation completed choose reboot system firmware.
The asus logo loading will take upto 7-8mins so be patient.
I'm pretty sure he said he had updated to a later ROM, and the bootloader unlocking isn't there(last version was v39, i think).
OP, if you can, try to reboot to recovery mode, it should be able to let you connect the phone as MTP(storage).
Upload an older ROM to the phone, and then use the recovery to update it with the .zip you uploaded.
Hope it helps! Good luck!
Its very complicated. My T705's power button was damaged by water. And i flashed Stock MM rom with odin. It was fine after flashing, the tablet boot into the os properly, work very well in the os.
But then i want to wipe the cache and data after that, so i was using the code"adb reboot to recovery" to get into recovery mode because my power button was broken. (I thought it can be using home button to select in recovery mode)
But the nightmare is i can't select anything in recovery mode which requiring a power button. So i can't wipe the cache, also can't select the option to reboot my tablet...... I've tried to hold both the volume down and home key to go to the download mode menu, and select restart by holding volume down, but it go to recovery again even after removing the battery, i think it's because the adb command.
And the strangest thing is i can't use my volume up button in download mode menu, so sadly i can't flash the rom again,:crying: but the volume up is working well in recovery and in the os......
Is there anyway to prevent the tablet to boot into the recovery again? I'm quite sure it's not the problem when flashing MM rom, the problem should be the adb command makes my tablet boot into recovery until i change the boot setting in recovery mode.

Holding vol down + home key can boot to the download mode menu.
But the device will automatically turn on after inserting the battery, no need to press any button, but the device only boot into recovery after i use the adb boot into recovery command.

If that's the case that means the power button is stuck on or you wouldn't be able to power on or boot to Download mode.
All you need to do is flash the stock firmware or twrp and it will reboot back to the OS.
Hopefully I've got your fix:
When you insert the battery your device boots up, if so, insert the battery and press the correct key combo while the splash screen from logo.bin is showing to boot into the download mode.
After that flash TWRP latest version with Odin. Then when your phone again boots to recovery, chose Reboot -> System to boot Android.
---
If the above isn't applicable and you can start Android somehow, I will download either FlashFire or MobileOdin to flash another recovery/ROM.
