Hey guys just want some input I'm thinking of trading my tmo gs3 for a 16gig nexus 4. I love the feel of the nexus and the support is amazing but love the removable battery and sd card of my s3. What should I do? Which is better overall?

Not true the nexus uses hspa+ as well as lte with older radio. I've had an 8 gig but lack of storage was unbearable so I sold it n got n s2 than got the s3 but i feel like this phone is lacking the power and support the nexus has.

Your decision they are both androids lol
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
If you want long support from Google, pure Android--> trade it for nexus 4
If you you really know that 16GB memory won't be enough, and you're good enough with it --> stay with Galaxy S3
Otherwise Galaxy S3 has big developer's support (like Nexus 4 does) and there are many ROMS that can give you some Pure Android experience and to have the newest Android version.
But remember it's you choice, and choose what is better to you.
I did that swap and I regretted it. I sold my Nexus 4 and got the Note II though. The Note II is premier device imo. The N4 overheats, the IPS display's digitizer is visible, the battery life stinks, and the phone doesn't have LTE.
Flash an aosp rom on the GS3 and you got yourself a pure Android experience on a powerhouse. I myself was debating between the NS4 and GS3, I chose the GS3 for a few reasons: external sdcard, removable battery, kickass hardware.

I would suggest meeting the person, testing the phone (drop your sim in and make a phone call), make the trade if all is good, sell the GS3 for $450-$600, and buy a new GNex from the play store next week, buy extended 2000mah battery, buy nice bottle of scotch, and toast your victory.
Have your cake, and eat it too.

Hold off til the new nexus comes out. After getting the nexus 7 i will never buy a non nexus device ever again.
$2? I say go for it. Its about the same quality of phone but the nexus will be supported software wise.

If you have strong 4G LTE where you are, I'd say go for it. If not, and your 4G Wimax is good, stay with the E4GT.
I'm in Dallas and bought a used Sprint Nexus when LTE first hit here. It was so weak and sporadic that my Wimax was better, so I came back to my trusty E4GT.
Yes I would say it comes down to LTE. As far as the phone I prefer my s2 compared to my wife's G Nexus.
She uses my camera more than she uses her phone.

This is not necessarily true.
Is there a way everyone can get this deal or did you work it out with an employee you know or something? And would I be able to do it if I'm nowhere near an upgrade?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Id get it over the Epic because of LTE & Jellybean alone. BUT, I wouldnt want to use the Nexus for two years, at this point. So id pass!
I had to work it out with an employee, this is after all the rebates and trade in and stuff

Your right about the display being better on the gs3 I don't know why Samsung didn't put the same one on the galaxy nexus but if my nexus isn't next to a gs3 then I think my screen is great
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Your right... the only thing that boggles my mind is that ... they both have the same screen technically... so I don't know how the GS3 looks better
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
I also think it's a different screen and of course wanted to put the best displays on there own Samsung branded phones. The note also has a better screen than my galaxy nexus

Surprised?
Either way, Google didn't want bleeding edge anything in any of the Nexus phones.
Its like comparing Ferrari and BMW, both are awesome, but.. And Nexus is more than 200$ cheaper, so.

That'd anger a lot of OEMs.
And put Google in the patent crossfire I'm sure they would like to stay out of.

I'm coming in a bit late here but I have both and am obviously on the nexus due to loving pure droid plus so much more dev support the bootloader was just unlocked on the sgs3 so roms and such are slim pickings at the moment either way though I love this nexus

Just posting a question as I want to know and hear if anyone is even contemplating on making a switch? I'm no iPhone fanboy and think the Samsung Galaxy S 3 surpasses the iPhone 5 on many levels. :good:
Edit: The title states Samsung Galaxy S II but I meant III
I am but i will keep my sg3 as well as my one x.

I won't be switching to the iPhone 5 because I love T-Mobile, I love tinkering with Android, and because I love my SIII.
However, everyone keeps going on about how it looks the same as the 4s and I just can't agree with this. Yes, the front looks the same (just longer) but they really have updated the features that I hated about the 4/4s. For example, I thought it was ridiculous that they made the back of the 4 and 4s glass. It looked lame and was just one more piece to easily break. I also didn't like the silver bezel (not a fan of it on the SIII either).
Now that the bezel is black and the back of the phone is no longer glass, I am actually a fan of it. I especially like that it is a bit thinner than the 4/4s and skinnier than the SIII.
If I was a big iTunes user, needed my phone to seamlessly work with my Macbook Pro (Android sucks at this), and enjoyed the simplicity of IOS I would probably get it. But I'm definitely sticking with Android. The SIII is the most solid phone I've ever owned.
Apple says the gs3 basically is an iPhoneso I got the best iPhone already

True that the SGS 3 might be like the iPhone 5, but I would take the SGS 3 over the 5 any day. The only nice thing I like about the 5 is the aluminum body and how solid it feels (if its anything like the 4). Other than that, they can have it

I love my galaxy nexus. So much in fact i bought an s3 and after a couple of months went back to my nexus.
Is it worth the upgrade/leaving verizon?
Would you do it?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
The nexus 4 isn't really an upgrade. If you play with one u will see that there really isn't a difference between them. I wouldn't leave vzw for that phone. If I where u I would wait to see what's coming out in the next few months.
