SmartToolKit stuck my Excalibur (HTC S621)

Hi Developers, Im have a HTC S621 Excalibur with WM5 with messaging and Security Pack.
I did install the SmartToolKit 6, 7, 8 and 9, great , great program to change the appearance of the phone, but, all this versions stuck my phone, that I must to get out the battery, cause all keys doesn´t working.
Is there some fix that I can apply to my phone to avoid this stuck situation?

I had the T-Mobile USA Rom which had the same problem with Smarttool Kit.
Once I flashed the HTC Rom to my phone and installed Smart Tool Kit I haven't had it freeze once and it's been a couple months.

Hola Tizana, mi Excalibur se "tranca" cuando ejecuto el SmartToolkit en todas sus versiones, mi pregunta habra algun tipo de "fix" o parche que pueda aplicar al sistema operativo para que la aplicacion se ejecute normalmente sin trancar el equipo?, alguna configuracion en el registry del sistema?

Im not currently using my Excalibur, but I believe you hit the start button> control panel> general> options> last one down is "global system skinning", uncheck and reboot. works great for me.
I don't know what version i'm running or where to tell for that matter but it's a newer one as "global system skinning" is a recent feature and crashed my device first time so i turned it off

I don't know what ROM you are using right now, but I'd check that first. I got the ROM here
Just make sure you read the whole thread there's quite a few steps involved. Depending on the rom your using that'd make my decision on upgrading or not. My T-Mobile rom was overweight and buggy - so the HTC Rom solved a lot of problems.

Hi theformula, nothing my friend I did the changes according with your recomendation but the behavior when SmartToolKit starts is the same, totally freeze the phone....!

I would say you could back up your info, hard reset, and try reinstalling smart tool kit OR
download a new rom.

Bueno amigo to tuve los mismo problemas preferi no instalar el SMART TOOLS uso FACADE sin problemas y mi telefono es digitel liberado y con WM6.
Adicionalmente cada edicion de SMART TOOLS trae algunos bug que dependiendo del equipo lo poden mejor o pero pero eso cambia mucho y es una pequea cantidad de equipos que sufren estos problemas

smarttoolkit 8 is better than 9 dont know why but I have less problems than the newer version so install smartoolkit 8....

Install it on your Phones memory not your Storage card. The storage card can lag causing phone to freeze. Since most of the time its loading (Smarttoolkit) when the device starts its not a good idea to wait untill the storage card is activated (its the last thing the system starts). I've been using it fully enabled with both the stock T-Mo and Kavanas 6.1... no problems at all

Wtf? Say that again? You tried to root using Odin butit either does not recognize the phone or just gets hung up?

sad to say it, but your phone is dead...the driver your PC is asking for is the qualcom hardware interface driver.
there is a service to fix this type of brick, its around $50 - $80. did you try flashing the .pit file in the odin zip?

ufff es que nose nada de ingles pero hay voy ,yo intente hacerlo root y de momento odin se para y dice que fallo ok de momento la pc no lo reconoce yo cojo y le saco la bateria y trato de ponerlo en download mode pero el se queda en pantalla negra lo conecto al pc y sale que tengo que instalar uno driver como que no lo estaba reconociendo busco en google y en cuentro los driver lo instalo veo que odin lo reconoce y dise puerto 12 trate de flashar la rom de fabrica pero dice esperando por el dispositivo , e mirado todo sobre brick y nada de resucitarlo

phew is that nose no English but there I go, I try to do when odin root and stops and says ok for now ruling the pc does not recognize me lame and I take the battery and try to put it into download mode but is is in black screen I connect it to pc and out I have to install a driver as he was not seeking recognition and encounter on google I install the drivers I see odin design recognizes and try port 12 Flashar factory rom but says waiting for the device, and looked all over and nothing to resurrect brick

Not Really Needed As Long As It Turns On At Leasts To The Samsung Screen Or Vibrates, Etc... He Said It Can Go Into Download Mode I Think And That Odin Recognizes It...

yea bro i told him to break it down of what hes doing to ping point what he is doing wrong, and pretty much the instructions on how to do it lol. well see what he says.

Here's another thread that could help ya - good luck bro. I know what's it's like bricking a phone. When I had a Vibrant, I bricked 6 different vibrants until I finally learned how to search and read, cuz that was embarrassing returning to the store and looking at the facial expressions on the employees.

Did He Try Pulling Everything Including Sim And Memory Card Wait a Little While Plug Usb In Hold Volume Up And Down Replace Battery ( Without Memory Card And Sim ) If That Doesnt Work He Had A Hard Brick... Thats My Last Check Or A Usb Jig... Does It At Least Have The Soft Brick Triangle And Odin Reads The Phone (Like Com 5 Or Something)?

Resolved - [email protected] get PIT for mapping

Ive searched the forums and googled this to death and am having trouble finding an answer. I am trying to root my s iii, i have drivers installed. i have all other drivers from all other phones uninstalled. do not have kies installed and odin recognizes my phone just fine. i have odin properly setup, with my cwm tar in the pda but everytime i try to flash it gets stuck at the Get PIT for mapping. after a few mins it fails. ive tried several times, using several different usb ports, keeping all other usb ports free, and using the factory cable. Any help here would be greatly appreciated. thank you in advance:beer:

I had this happen to me as well.The way I fixed it is after it stalled, I unplugged the USB cable from the USB port and plugged it into another port on my PC. It installed the driver again and the process resumed and completed.

older version but it works on the s3's just fine

thanks for the help guys. Thinking it is the cable and i didnt have a spare to test with. I rooted using the vzw no odin root and flashed recovery in rom manager so im up and running. Thanks again for the help!

como todo idiota mi telefono estava muy bn y lei en internet que abia una nueva vercion ollipo 5.1.1 y la mia era la 5.1.0 lo sierto es que cuando descargue esa vercion era un rom personalisado que abia que flachearlo por el recovery seme vino a la mente aser un bakup pero nolo ise cuando fui flachear esa vercion no servia para mi gt i9500 bueno en tonses ai estava jodido sin mi rom ni la que descargue bueno desidi flachearlo con el odin yo tenia el archico I9500UBUHOE3_I9500DORHOE2_I9500UBUHOE1_HOME.tar.md5 ya descargado en mi pc por que ya selo abia echo anterior mente

[Q] Dead Xperia Play, any hope?

Tried over in another forum, got no help.... Hoping someone here has an idea.
A local seller sometimes has phones and I bought an Arc S that worked great recently. Last week he has a Play so I picked it up from him cheap.
This phone is dead. Really dead. No lights, no beeps, no screen activity. Absolutely no reaction to being plugged in on the phone or on the PC (checked under flashtools, PC companion and EMMA).
I opened the phone and checked for water or drop damage, there is none.
I have tried all different USB cables and chargers, including ones that work on my Arc S just fine. I also re-flowed the solder on the USB connector when it was open (I had tried charging previously with no results). The micro USB port looks good. The battery also looks ok, it has no swelling or damage and is a genuine Sony battery.
I hate to put so much effort into it, but I have old phones that have been drowned in salt water and left to rust and they still have SOME response, or phones that have literally been smashed that will at least light the notification light. Seems odd to have this Play do nothing at all.
Any other tricks I can try with this thing?

Anybody? Anything? Wonder why posts that ask something easily Google'able/searchable get 50 responses, legit questions seem to get ignored.

Either mainboard broken or battery totally drained. Try charging the battery with an external charger? Not sure if it works but worth a try

Thanks. Do you know if the Play will do anything at all if the battery is removed but it is connected to USB? I know the Arc will loop the logo.
If not I'll order a battery, if it should be flashing or showing the logo without the battery then I'll assume a bad MB.

I don't have an answer but... I hope this helps...
I have the same problem, my xperia play is/was totally new, i did a kernel flash with flashtool everything was succesful acording with the status window of flashtool, but when I unplug it and tried to turn it on... dead, totally not even a single glimpse of life, not even the notification led.
I hope you and I find a way to bring it back to life... It was only a few hours since it's firts turn on :crying:

Was about to order a battery/charger for it and remembered I had an old camera battery charger around. Got the prongs lined up right and got a charge on the battery.
Unfortunately all the phone does is vibrate as soon as the battery goes in, and it continues to vibrate no matter what is pressed... and would keep doing it till the battery dies. So at this point I'm guessing bad motherboard.

My battery was full when I did the kernel flash, I plugged it to charge the battery after the incident.
Have you tried to flash a new kernel? I did, but it doesn't respond when I plug it with the back button pressed...

Hola, se me ocurrio crear este tema para ayudar a la comunidad en medida de lo posible.
Veran, hay ocaciones en que durante un mal proceso de flasheo o liberacion o simple mala suerte nos encontramos con que nuestro Xperia no enciende mas y no podemos revivirlo con el flashtool o el pc companion ya que la computadora no detecta el telefono o lo decta como dispositivo desconocido.
SETool es un herramienta poderosa que entre otras cosas puede reparar el SEMCboot de los Xperia, esto es lo que se necesita arreglar para que el telefono vuelva a ser dectecado por flashtool y asi reescribirle el firmware.
Basicamente el proceso es sencillo.
1. Se repara el SEMCboot por testpoint y alternative bypass con SETool.
2. Se escribe un firmware nuevo y fresco con SETool o flashtool.
Listo eso es todo y el movil queda vivito de nuevo.
Lo peor que puede pasar despues de revivirlo es que no acepte ningun SIM. Esto no suele pasar a menos de que el problema estuviera desde antes de revivirlo. Sin embargo es facil de arreglar, aunque desafortunadamente no hay manera gratuita de hacerlo ya que para este particular proceso el setool necesita creditos de servidor.
Volviendo al tema. El proceso de Recovery (como se le conoce) necesita de setool que a su vez require tener SETool box o dongle conectada, la cual como se imaginan no es gratuita ni barata.
Sin embargo ofresco este servicio de Recovery sin costo a los amigos de HTCMania.
Asi mismo se aceptan donaciones alegremente

Question Resetting the pattern

All good. I had a problem. Teoephone turned on and as a result I now can not enter through my unlock pattern, I understand that I can roll back to the factory settings, but I want to pull out the data, some of them are on the memory card, but there is also in the phone's memory, where 128 GB, like can I drop the pattern without deleting the data?

Find Xiaomi support center to help you.
It should still have warranty covered.

They should have, but they might ask you to proof the phone belongs to you, like some purchase receipt.
You can call them with another phone to ask if they can do it and what you need to prepare to bring along so you don't have to run back and forth.

It is a serious glitch visit the Redmi Customer service center it will be helpful to you. For next time I would suggest you use cloud storage, it is the best way to restore the data.
