I searched around and I couldn't find a thread about this, but is there a way to make your gestures work on more than just the stock few apps that they work on? I feel like some of em could be really handy but if they worked on apps i actually used. I was wondring if there was a rom or a tweak that fixed this?

Nope. The other apps themselves would have to coded as well.
Air Swipes will give you the touchless gestures back, there's also an app for SmartStay, I forget what it's called though.

Dont think hes talking about getting any gestures back... He didnt lose them. Just wants them to work on more than just samsungs apps. Do these 3rd party apps allow gestures to work on all apps?

Ah guess I mis-read it. No it doesn't, they just add things from TW into AOSP ROMs.

so i found a cool app, you just need a rooted devices and busy box installed and it will work like charm, here's the link
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fatedevgroup.softkeyenabler&hl=tr
tested on our device, no flaws or problems
here it is, 100% working
I see people using this and my question is..why do I want to lose screen real state if I have actual buttons? Just curious not meaning to be an ahole
can be useful, if somehow you break your homebutton and it's a matter of choice, mate.
There is a yhread on this....u dont need an app to do this,,, and there is a pro version?, , lol

Exactly... also, if you use your S-pen exclusively, this could be handy for spen back-key, menu-key functionality. I thought I read that certain apps (like stock camera) get partially "cut-off" in landscape mode... not sure if that playstore app solved this or not.
I wish you could colorize either the buttons or the bar or both as in CM10/AOKP ROMS. I find myself using the soft keys exclusively when I'm running those types.

I was able to do it by just changeing the build.prop but the question is, is there a way to SHRINK the buttons, they dont need to be this big on this screen. I hope the next sammy phone has soft buttons or atleast ones that work with the pen!! gurr!
To enable soft keys just down load Pimp my Rom from play store and enable it. This app didn't work on v any of the 3 roms I tried it on

That's what LMT is for. And actually you don't need an app too enable this feature. It can b done directly from the phone. Just with a lil editing!!

https://www.dropbox.com/s/eebkzugsm7ek12s/CM S-Pen Addon.apk <--- CM S PEN HELPER. starts a monitoring service in AOSP ROMs so that SPEN helper becomes functional again!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tushar.spen_helper&hl=en <--- S PEN HELPER WHICH IS JUST AMAZING!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.flyingbusstudio.snappadfree <--- HAVENT TESTED YET BUT SHOULD BE A GOOD ALTERNATIVE TO POP UP NOTE FROM TW!
Interesting...
Side-loaded first apk, now the phone knows when s-pen is detached and reattached but 2nd app (from the Market) is a little goofy. I can get it to either put a link to Papyrus in the status bar when pen detached, or do nothing. Neither is very helpful.
What am I missing?
3rd app is just weird, lol
I can see the potential

This is actually pretty cool. I'm on cyanogenmod and I hated how the spen didn't vibrate when it was detached. Now with these apps it vibrates and shows a detached notification plus makes the same sound when detaching(if you have the stock sound files). The third app is nice but it's kind of slow/laggy when you slide it out. I uninstalled it because it made my phone seem slow. If they fix that I will download again
thanks,
dump question, if official 4.2 rom comes out with the spen app for android 4.2, will the spen app be use on the CM 10.1?

MIUI is sort of a combination of the two. I don't know how they do it exactly but MIUI is the only ROM I've found that has features from both TW and AOSP.

Hello I am the developer of the first 2 apps
I have uploaded the first one to the play store now https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tushar.cmspen
And the second one was made for Samsung based ROMs so there were a few UI changes needed to be made. If you update it now it should work fine.
Sorry for the inconvenience
Wow, thanks!

If you could make an app that let's me use HDMI out on the phone, i could say goodbye to Touchwiz forever!!
Both apps now working great! Removing S-pen now turns on the display and opens Papyrus instantly, and closes it when pen is reinserted.
5 stars, and will buy pro version.
Thanks!

nice work, sir. :good:
for the s-pen quickbar, how does one remove the plus signs for unused spots or remove existing shortcuts, say if i only want to use 2-3 out of the available 6?

Now that Halo is open, I foresee pretty much every ROM update to now include it. Personally, I don't see the big deal about the feature and wonder if there is a way to delete it from a ROM either prior to or after flashing. Anyone know?

Well, I understand that. I'm just wondering if there is anyway to get rid of it. If not, I'll have to live with it being there. In my eyes, just not enabling it would be the same as having a Facebook app even though I'm not on Facebook.
Maybe I'm missing something. Is there a way to disable it in settings, so I don't have that icon in my notification pull down?

Its part of the framework. So I don't think so. You could always use a ROM without Halo.

Bummer. I just noticed that at least 2 ROMs I poke around with have updated to include it..so, I'm guessing most will eventually and my options for avoiding it will be limited. Not a big deal and maybe I'll grow fond of it, but I don't think so. Seems kind of redundant to me..I'll just have to learn to live with it I suppose.

Yeah. Its more of a feature that compliments the expanded desktop mode where you dont have a notification drawer visible. But not everyone wants that. I feel the same way.
For example, I use expanded desktop but just the soft keys are hidden, I leave the status bar visible.

yea it is getting baked in as is being done with uxylon, carbon and what seems now to be p.a.c.
while with p.a.c. it is using its PA pulled parts for it, uxylon and carbon have it baked in so there really is no removing it
Like every option, it should have a disable option...

I agree that would be nice...but, I'm no dev and I would never ask for it outta respect..But, definitely would be a nice option. Like PIE is always an option.
I for one rely on pie controls on this line of phones. Pie makes this big screen much easier to operate one handed.
Well the guys at coolace have implemented 4.4.4 functionality into their app so until we can get xposed running on here we have am alternative.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jun.ace.piecontrol
I normally use pie, although if you just want something more simple check out the side key panel in quick settings.

Just install LMT. Its way better than pie.

Back and Home button need root access to work. Also if you configured any certain apps it won't work. Reset your pie configuration, be sure root is granted and start from scratch to configure your buttons

I'll stick with pie until the root issue is figured out.
LMT works beautifully with the note 4. Just install the apk.
I use s combination of the built in side button launcher and lmt launcher. I use lmt mostly to enable data, WiFi, GPS and such. Does the back button work on lmt launcher for you guys?

Just a few things you need to do.
1. Set Gesture Input to #8 (Samsung)
2. Clear Blacklist options in (Gestures, Pie)
For some reason LMT will blacklist some apps like in pie I use center for phone dialer but if you don't clear blacklist it hides dialer for example.
Went to the links provided, did not see links to download the apk file. ..any help greatly appreciated.

I 'm sure I saw it in the lollipop update but for now, I installed an alternate lockscreen apk - This one is pretty nice LG.Optimus.Lockscreen.v3.2.4.apk - Just search for it and you'll find a download!!! It has some really nice features and it's FREE
