I have this dual sim Htc T528t bought from China a few months ago that I am trying to root so that I can install Google play store since it cannot properly run when I install it. I have been able to unlock the boot loader following instructions from the htc developer page. But I have faced problems in flashing another recovery to it, I have tried several recoveries like open recovery-twrp, clockwork-touch, r1-modaco-recovery-clockwork-touch-endeavoru but all seem to have failed to work. The phone just gets stuck at the htc logo and I am certain that the recovery may not be the right one because normal booting let's me use my phone's functions properly.
My phone's information is
Kernel version: 3.0.8+-gb568d1f
Base-band version 1.24.1403.8 CL 130246 release-keys
Software Number : 1.0.0.T528t
ROM version: 1.24.1403.8(updated it recently from system updates)
Any help on where to get the correct recovery is highly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
Same device, same problem. Any news?

Finding the right recovery for that phone's model isn't an easy task but in the event that the recoveries u tried didn't work properly. I suggest you download a ROM update utility(ruu) for that phone's model it will help you fix your phone's recovery and it will probably set the phone to use the best matching recovery that you had earlier tried to install. That's what I did for my case and it worked out fine.
Thanks mubstimor.
Like you, I tried several recovery and found one that worked, but not very very well.
My phone (rooted and installed Recovery v5.8.1.5.) is exactly the same as yours (HTC T528t) and I want to change the Rom because the original has only English and Chinese and I'm in Argentina (Spanish).
Please help :cyclops:
PS: (sorry for my ugly English)

hi guys, i got a new HTC ONE M8 from China Mobile 3 days ago, when i got home i realized that it works with Sina Weibo instead of asking me for my google acount like all the previous Android phones i had before, i went to the store asked for a refund.. not happening. I paid 800 bucks for a phone i cant use.. so i went ahead and tried to solve the issue and root it, i followed a threat here every instruction but i messed up somehow and at the end i wasnt able to enter the recovery mode, so i couldnt install the rom i downloaded (this is the guide i followed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2705292 ) so being unable to do anything i went to a tech today, he charged me 100 bucks to "solve the problem" and he was able to S-OFF the phone and i was finally able to get into recovery mode with TWRP but he said he didnt have any rom cause the phone was too new.. so i came back home where i had the ones i downloaded from the link i posted above... followed the insutrctions and installed the rom, everything seemed to be fine but then when it rebooted, nothing happens, the phone is stuck on fastboot mode and wont load into the operating system, i have tried to reboot a million times, updated the kernel , updated the twrp... still nothing. i am in china and have been trying to find another tech.. no luck at all. can someone help me or give me ideas on what to do? i would really appreciate the help!

You should be able to just flash any GSM ROM unless the Chinese model is a different variant. You could have bricked it, never a good idea to flash incorrect ROM for a device.
May I ask what ROM did you flash and for what device?

What does "totally dead" mean? Any charge LED? Any response when connected to a computer.
Also, not a good idea to dig up a thread from 5 months ago, with limited relevance. The top post did different steps, and was stuck in fastboot, which doesn't sound the same as your situation.

May i know where did you find the Old Rom of HTC one M8 China phone? Please Send me a Link. Its for MTK6572.
What Device you have?
Hi,
2 weeks ago I got my P8000 from the german elephone distribution, it came with android 6. It seems to be an other version of the phone, the fingerprint sensor has moved up near the camera.
So my problem is, that I can't find a working rom for this device. I tried to root the phone and after that it did not boot anymore, so I tried to flash the 6.0 stock rom but the screen is white with moving stripes.
Where can I get a working rom for my phone?
Nobody with a new version phone who could take a dump for me?

I think you should ask elephone (on facebook or some other social medias) for a dump, I don't see any chances that there are many people out there that own the 2016 version... :/
I wrote to the elephone facebook contact but they just pointed me to the BBS with the not working 'old' Rom file.
So if I could get another new P8000 would it be easy to take a dump oft it and flash it to my phone?

I think you won't have to buy a new device, just point out to them that, that rom on the forum is for the old version and it's not working for your's. I hope they'll provide it for you.
Hey!
I just received this version and would be willing to take the dump, but I don't know how.
MTKDroidTools says unknown rom structure and doesn't allow me to do it.
Any tips?
Emile
Hey Emileh these are great news! I cannot help you with this, but surely someone here can!
Many thanks,

Sorry, I don't understand
I have at least two P8000(B) - and bricked one of them see this post:http://forum.xda-developers.com/elephone-p8000/help/stock-rom-p8000b-t3434477
The good news are: I still have a working one and could use this as a source to generate a firmware file... if someone could tell me how
I think I have to do the procedure with the SP Flashtool because the display of the faulty phone is not usable

Same as mine. The display controller seems to be another one.
I'm guessing thats just a kernel problem, right? The drivers in the kernel?

P8000B is almost impossible to brick. If you install SP flash, and download the correct recovery (like TWRP), and the correct version ROM's with scatter.txt you can recovery the phone in just about any circumstance. I put the P8000B recovery files on my PC, Formatted whole flash and bootloader. After that, the phone was bricked, and wouldn't turn on. Loaded the P8000B system recovery scatter.txt, and SP flash installed it perfectly. Booted fine. With SP flash it's almost impossible not to be able to restore the P8000B as long as you have proper files,

there is no Stock ROM, no scatter file and I think not even a TWRP or Philz Recovery available for the 'new version' of the P8000 - I call it P8000(B) because it is written on the box of the phone.
Emileh made a good description of the problem here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/elephone-p8000/general/2016-version-fingerprint-scanner-t3436270
But you could help us if you can provide the necessary files....
Is it the us version? It's the same one I have. I'll post a video how to soon
******EDIT******
FrauHofrat, sorry I did not realize that there was a "Rev.2" out for the P8000 US Version. I am surprised Elephone hasn't released a flash-able version for SPflash yet. Honestly, it would be in their best interest to ship any Rev of their US versions w/ TWRP and freely distributing flash-able images/scatter.txt, so if it gets bricked during a failed OTA update, folks would not have to send their phones back to be fixed. I have the Rev 1 of that phone.
Any word on the Elephone forum regarding the Rev. 2 version for images/scatter.txt? I will keep an eye out. Is there any specific model related info that shows up in About Phone, or written on the box/battery?
Sent from my p8000 using Tapatalk
We're not talking about the P8000-B here, which I believe has different LTE bands so it's better suited for the USA
We're talking about P8000 6.0, which is the newer version of the phone that's currently being shipped in Europe. It has some small technical changes and stock Android 6
Edit: by the way, the box does say P8000(B), but I don't really trust that description
Hi guys,
I was just looking at the elephone forum and found this: http://bbs.elephone.hk/thread-11929-1-1.html#.V7WrLDWbfSY . There's the stock rom link for the 2nd revision of the P8000, so hope you can get it working properly again.
@ardrift
Thank you for this information - the ROM works and the phone is alive again!
But there is still one thing to do: because of flashing the wrong firmware my phone lost the IMEI. This should'nt be a problem on rooted devices but the stock ROM resists all attempts to be rooted

Can you try dialing *#*6813#*#* in the stock dialer app? Someone on the elephone forum has written this as a solution, altough I don't know if it works, or how would it work... If you are stuck you can upload a screenshot, I can look at it
PS: Your IMEI numbers should be sticked on your battery, you can see them if you remove the phone's back.
Change IMEI on P8000
@ardrift:
first I thought this is a joke but actually it worked :victory:
with *#*#6813#*#* entered on the stock dialer you can acess the "IMEI-Tool" which allows you to enter a new IMEI for both SIM cards. The new IMEI stay permanent even after reboot and this also works on 'old' P8000.
Sometimes life can be so easy
Hi guys. I'm having a bit of a problem. I want to preface this by saying I know almost nothing about modding Android.
A while back I bought a used HTC M8, and I guess it had a bunch of modifications to it because it was rooted and boots into a weird screen (says something about being for developers only?) before booting into a screen that it waits on for about 5 (says ROM: Internal) and then boots the OS.
Well recently I had an issue where Maps wouldn't work and would lockup my phone when I launched it. So I decided to do a factory reset. After the reset was complete it was impossible for me to log into my Google account as the app would crash every time I tried to log in. Not logging in = unable to use the play store, etc. I tried factory resetting twice more and kept having the same problem.
So I decided maybe the phone had some weird custom OS installed that caused the phone to act weirdly. I decided I'd go to the HTC website and download their ROM and install it. However the phone doesn't seem to accept the ROM since the installation encounters an error and crashes at the beginning of the install.
So I decided I might as well try to flash a custom ROM since the phone had already had all the modifications done. It had some TeamWin recovery thing installed, S-ON enabled, and the bootloader unlocked. I downloaded the latest nightly of CyanogenMod and tried to flash it in recovery mode. It seems to complete okay as it says "success" after flashing. But when I try to boot the device it just boots directly into recovery mode and I can't seem to figure out what I've done wrong?
Any help would be super appreciated.

Just for your knowledge, you can't just install just any RUU. It has to match your phone's carrier version (CID), which is one of the reasons ahmed asked for your getvar data (and those details of the phone can also affect what TWRP version to use, what ROMs you can install, etc.). Plus, you need to relock the bootloader to RUU, unless the phone is s-off.
The process of doing fastboot getvar all, has been described on this forum too many times to count. So its not his responsibility to describe that process to you; when you can easily find it by searching and learning for a few minutes.
I'm actually out of town now so I don't really have any way of knowing of the ROM I used is compatible with my carrier. My phone is unlocked so I wonder if that matters?
Regardless, I'll look into posting my getvar all when I get home. Thanks.

I'm not talking necessarily about your carrier or if the SIM is unlocked. The official RUUs will only run, if they match the CID of the phone.
We may be able to determine the version direct from the device, if you have an OS number listed on the bootloader screen. Is there an OS number listed there, and if so, what is it?
I couldn't install the HTC ROM, so I installed CyanogenMod.
Hi All,
Currently got no radio signal on my EE HTC 10 due to flashing an incorrect rom. I lost my original backup - amateur.
Have spent a serious amount of time flashing various RUU, ROMS, radio.imgs, firmwares, even with @Kratos90 's patient assistance i'm stuck at square one.
If you have an EE HTC 10 - I'd really appreciate if you could let me know which RADIO/Baseband you are using, along with the OS and possibly ROM you are
using so i can try and give that combination a go.
Example: [email protected]_76.02F / 1.90.401.5
Trying really hard to get this fixed and not sure of the best avenue so hoping this may help.
Many thanks in advance.
Did you perhaps flash SuperSU through TWRP, or use a non-specific for the HTC 10 SuperSU file?
I just read online that doing so can alter the encryption flag and thus break phone signal. (https://www.andromods.com/fix-troubleshoot/rooted-htc-10-no-signal-lost-radio-issues.html)
If so, I am not too sure of what can be done, except maybe flashing the specific SuperSU?

Thanks for your suggestion, I have only ever flashed SuperSU once, when i first rooted the phone back in May. So I just did it again, I just tried the steps jcase provides here https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/how-to/guide-root-optionally-s-off-radio-t3373025
3) Using adb, in twrp run - adb shell "echo KEEPFORCEENCRYPT=true>>/data/.supersu"
4) flash latest supersu from http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps...v2-05-t2868133
used - SR2-SuperSU-v2.79-SR2-20170103215521.zip
No Success unforunately - perhaps this SuperSU is not good for the current firmware i've got on there - have reverted back to 1.21.401 TWRP Backup for EVE__001 ( My carrier) but nothing is working.
Hopefully something will work! Welcome to any suggestions!
Thanks.
Is this a specific ee branded phone ? Is your device s off ?
Edit
I See you are s off. Which version of twrp you using ? this may be relevant
Currently 3.0.2-6pme but also had 3.0.3-unofficial-pme on there.
RUU should work if you're using the correct one for your device . Has this phone now been de-branded ?
I would try to format all data in twrp 3.0.3 then Ruu again . Leave root until you're back to square one
I've flashed various RUU and they all go fine but still no radio. I think i have broken encryption or something. Would format data in twrp fix that? I'm away from my pc and phone as am at work for now but will try when I'm back
Read twrp xda thread faq . Check you have the right ruu for your phone ( which I assume is non branded )
You should be good to sort this out, aside from hardware failure but it does sound as if encryption somewhere along your way has caused this
Hi,

I've managed to unlock the bootloader and tried flashing on TWRP 2.7.x but when I try to load it into receovery the phone just flash manufacturer screen and powers off. I have tried reading other forums but have been unable to get a straight answer on what to do. I feel like the version of TWRP i am using is too old for the phone?
Any advice on what I need to do is greatly appreciated!
