Try the StabilityTest app on the Google Play Store. It will see if your CPU calculates stuff wrong or right. A common issue while OC is that the CPU calculates stuff wrong, and that is NOT good. Put it on scaling test for 3 hours. If the app haven't reported any errors, then your's good to go!
BTW: I can run mine at 960 MHz stable.

Have the charger plugged in, you don't want the phone to be "dead" when you check it after 3 hours. It takes a lot of electricity to have the CPU running at 100 %.

ok look. the diamonds processor is 525mhz eh. with this tool you can underclock it. you can do it to like 300mhz or 256mhz. the device runs some slower but the battery life will be better you understand it now?
//Nick
The simple explanation is:
Underclocking: Makes the processor run at a speed lower than it is designed/certified for.
Overclocking: Makes the processor run at a speed higher than it is designed/certified for.
Edit: forgot to say the reason you may want to underclock is to save battery power. You would overclock to improve performance.

not overburden it is a tip from me to you / nu i-l suprasolicita este un sfat din partea mea pentru tine
underclocked
Underclocking your phone will do no damage to it at all
You can run Photoshop on a PC with a 1Ghz CPU and on a PC with a 3Ghz CPU
No damage done to the slower CPU, just not as fast
Keep in mind that this has close to NO effect at all when the phone is sleeping.
So, unless you're constantly using your phone - and you don't need the speed - there's no need for this!
im trying to code an app that will dynamically adjust clock speed depending on cpu load. so far i got it to take the cpu to 200mhz if cpu usage is under 50%.
i need more work to code in more clock states and tune the clock triggering thresholds.

Does underclocking a kernel help save battery life?

I have the newest Chad kernel, and it seems like underclocking it doesn't really save me any battery, should it? Or is it just best to leave it at the stock max speed, and set it at the lowest min? Also how do you work his voltage mods, once you flash them?

i use vipermod. a floor of 800, then lower the max by 25. you just need terminal emulator. and i normally run at 883, 998 or 1113 and see my battery die within minutes of each.... so idk. undervolt helps

any one know of a way to check if one of my cores on the one if is not working or on its way out phones bean slow ish for past few days i know bench marks dont matter but i do them all the time and i used to get over 14000 on cpu only on quadrant were it tells u io / ram / cpu and stuff but now its not seeming to go over 11000 which is making be believe one of the cores is broke any ideas people am using arHD 9.6.0 and faux 010u
You can try any of those two:

One core 1.7
Two cores 1.6
Four cores 1.4
Assuming you opt for uli oc and have a v3 chip.
Quadrant isn't a good bench mark as the.scores vary way to much to make it a good indicator antutu is better, try antutu the hox normally scores between 10 - 12 k on it.

thanks alot for the help people and i have just tried antutu and got a score of 12500 is that about right variant 2 full quad core 1.55 faux010u

[Q] CPU Frequency suggestions

is it true that over-clocking can damage my phone??
I like it when it's fast enough to play any games but i'm a little worried that OC might damage my phone..
do you have any suggestion about the right minimum and maximum frequency??(sorry 4 my english)

it really depends, im using CM10 on 134-1024 Mhz. Most the games are smooth. Its safe to OC up to 1.4 GHz imo. 1.6 GHz and 1.8 GHz might damage over time and a lot of usage at max frequency
OC is always bad and dangerous, no matter what clocks you use.
Besides, OC doesn't give any major performance boost, you can barely see it.

oh,so u mean OC is not that useful at all?should I just stay ay 1024 then?
Why bother overclocking something that is outdated specification wise? And with an single core, the performance boost is non-existant because the core will be driven hard and generate heat and voila.. RIP!

It's not a matter of hearing it from someone. It will definitely happen if you overclock your phone since increasing the maximum frequency from the design limit will fry your phone.

40°c-50°c is normal for CPU temperature. It can go upto 60-80°c. PCs even go upto 120°c. Don't worry.
