The following should solve your problem.
Good luck !
A) flashing ANY new ROM as CROSS-MODEL-ID update
B) Fix the "Data crashes"
In case you have problems please indicate the step letter/number which is not clear / not working for you.
Just do EVERYTHING EXCAT STEP BY STEP and everything will work.
---------
A)
Please do it EXACT step by step like described now and it will work (it is ESSENTIAL that you do it EXACT STEP BY STEP)
0) turn off antivirus/firewall/everything else running in background
1) start phone in windows, connect active sync (green circle in system tray of your pc)
2) start the unlocker (phone screen will turn white, active sync will disconnect, THIS IS NORMAL)
3) when asked for KEY-FILE or COMM ERROR#1 comes up WAIT 2 MINUTES (DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING)
4) DO NOT TOUCH PHONE AT ALL for ALL the next steps!!!
5) remove USB cable
6) close the unlocker on PC
7) reconnect USB cable
8) unpack the "RUU_Excalibur_TMO_US_1.20.531.1_4.1.13.34_02.79.90_Test.exe"
(right click on the .exe and select "Winzip->Unzip to folder..."
9) in the extracted folder you will find a file called like "RUU_signed.nbh" (.NBH), open it with HEX EDITOR (e.g. HexWorkshop) and locate the string like "EXCA20000" near the beginning of the file. Change it to "EXCA****" (all without the quotes, overwrite the DIGITS with STARS)
10) in the extracted folder you will find a file called like "RUU_Update.exe", open it with HEX EDITOR and SEARCH the string "BsaD5SeoA" and OVERWRITE it with "IMEICHECK" (all without the quotes)
11) start the just edited RUU_Update.exe now and make the ROM update (screen of phone will stay white ALL THE TIME, THIS IS NORMAL)
12) wait till update is complete and phone will start with the new ROM
13) To fix the "Data Crashes" problem just make a COMPLETE run of the unlocker (see B) ) and you are done.
---------
B) To fix the "Data crashes" you only have to make a COMPLETE run of the unlocker.
Please do it EXACT step by step like described now and it will work (it is ESSENTIAL that you do it EXACT STEP BY STEP)
0) turn off antivirus/firewall/everything else running in background
1) start phone in windows, connect active sync (green circle in system tray of your pc)

4) DO NOT TOUCH PHONE AT ALL for ALL the next steps!!!
5) remove USB cable
6) close the unlocker on PC
7) reconnect USB cable
8) start unlocker again and now it will complete the unlock
9) at next start the "Data Crashes" will be away.
wich unlocker did you use???
I believe you use IMEICHECK unlocker, but it cost 40 bucks. I dont need unlock I need fix the Data Crashes and enter the unlock code that i already have.

For CID unlock, try this.
Try the USPL-CID BYPASS to see what happend.
When the screen turn white, choos the rom you want.

not there yet, it's upgrading at the moment (at the last and longest stage). I had mine unlocked via the MFG tool. I reset the two registry keys PortalUrlInt and PortalUrlProd back to the https links
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\DeviceReg]
"PortalUrlProd"="https://developerservices.windowsphone.com/Services/WindowsPhoneRegistration.svc/01/2010"
"PortalUrlInt"="https://developerservices.windowsphone-int.com/Services/WindowsPhoneRegistration.svc/01/2010"
(thanks to drkfngthdragnlrd)
and set the DeveloperUnlockState to 1. While still in the MFG tool I started the MangoB2-DevRetailUpdate tool.
It would not work initially. Closed the tool, started the new beta Zune software and it relocked the phone. Closed Zune, disconnected phone and went back into the MFG app and unlocked it. Connected phone to PC again, restarted the tool and it started the backup and installation process.
How to Un-Lock your Phone without Chevron 7
You can unlock the phone by using the MFG registry editor.
Open the MFG app and use the password to open it. If you don't know it's (appmfg#*#)
Go to Engineer Menu -> Other Settings -> Edit Registry
Set your ROOT PATH to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"
Set your input path to "\Comm\Security\LVMod"
Set your input key to "DeveloperUnlockState" and set to DWORD
Hit Query. Output result should return a "0" or a random long number. If it does continue.
Set your input data box to "1" and hit SET. Output result should be 1
How To Keep Your Phone Unlocked
You can keep your phone unlocked and prevent Zune from re-locking it.
Open the MFG app and use the password to open it. If you don't know it's (appmfg#*#)
Go to Engineer Menu -> Other Settings -> Edit Registry
Set your ROOT PATH to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"
Set your input path to "\Software\Microsoft\DeviceReg"
Set your input key to "PortalUrlProd" and set to DWORD
Hit Query. Output result should return data. If it does continue.
Keep your input data box empty and hit SET. Output result should be 0
Keep this screen open and continue to Part 2

The first thing I did was to download and install the Windows Phone Developer Tools. Once downloaded I started it up and then just exited.
Then I went and changed these settings using the MFG app. Make sure they are typed in correctly!!
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\DeviceReg]
PortalUrlProd = https://developerservices.windowsphone.com/Services/WindowsPhoneRegistration.svc/01/2010
PortalUrlInt = https://developerservices.windowsphone-int.com/Services/WindowsPhoneRegistration.svc/01/2010
I then tried to run the MangoB2-DevRetailUpdate.exe but it gave me an error that it could not find UpdateWP.exe. I renamed the Setup-UpdateWP-x64.exe to UpdateWP.exe but got the same error.
So I just installed the new Test Zune and tried to look for an update there and it didn't find any so I quit Zune and tried to run MangoB2-DevRetailUpdate.exe, this time it work but said my phone was lock so I loaded up MFG, changed the developerunlockstate back to 1, tried again and it work!!
I'm currently on step 7 of 9 in the last update on Zune ISV beta (7661)
EDIT: I haven't had to edit the settings to keep the phone from re-locking, you should only need to do that after you have Mango fully installed.
Make sure you have this set correctly!!!
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\DeviceReg]
PortalUrlProd = https://developerservices.windowsphone.com/Services/WindowsPhoneRegistration.svc/01/2010
PortalUrlInt = https://developerservices.windowsphone-int.com/Services/WindowsPhoneRegistration.svc/01/2010

Just finished the whole update and I can confirm that the MFG app still works in the Mango build
I think you should change the title of this thread to LG Keep Unlock Mango Beta or something because only you guys have the MFG tool
It works, thanks for tips guys, best internet forum ever.
For dummys ( like me )
First write in mfg this
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\DeviceReg]
PortalUrlProd = https://developerservices.windowspho...on.svc/01/2010
PortalUrlInt = https://developerservices.windowspho...on.svc/01/2010
Then run zune, run devupdater
it will close zune, then it will tell u blablabla its locked
NOT THIS ( "Checking if your phone is dev unlocked...
Failed. Please try the following
1) Connect the phone
2) Launch Zune software and wait for it to connect to the device
3) Close Zune software
4) Restart the tool. ") but the other info
Then u have to stay connected to pc, and with still running mfg ulockstate = 1 and run updater again, the rest of it is just next, next, next

I am running into an issue where I get an error when installing Setup-UpdateWP-x64, in that it says I need to install Visual Studio 2010 Service Pack 1.
Is this a common occurence for others? It's a pretty big download and I am on crappy work network, so it will take some time. I can do a custom install though, and shave off unneeded components, so if someone could advise me on that it would be great!

This method supposedly shaves off the need for VS and all that garbage:

Otherwise, remember, this is for developers.. hence the fact it wants VS installed.
Hello
This is the process that I used to unbrick the LG G Pad 8.3 tablet.
Note 1: The operating system on my PC is Windows XP SP3 x86
Note 2: The same process should also work on LG G Pad 10.1 (With a different .tot file)
1. First of all you should make sure that the G Pad is detected when connected to the PC.
The device should be seen as QHSUSB_DLOAD in Other Devices section in Device Manager.
hxxp://i.imgur.com/IawJZq0.jpg
2. Install the QHSUSB Driver for your operating system.
The driver can be found here:
hxxp://mega.nz/#!HlpViaTJ!NPACjSQtTjGWdYIj3kHO3bGfmAotaSSQindmgRY9VJ4
I have used the driver from the "checked" folder.
Reconnect the tablet and you should now see the device as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COMxx) under the Ports section in Device Manager.
Take a note of the COM port number.
hxxp://i.imgur.com/IR7uUCB.png
3. Download the .tot image file for you tablet model.
I have used the one from here (LG G Pad 8.3 V500 4.4.2):
hxxp://androidfilehost.com/?fid=23329332407581518
4. Now you need the LG BoardDiag tool.
Download this one from here:
hxxp://mega.nz/#!XwgkXTAR!JnAAXKBQoezT7CcxRSVkSQlPFr4AXcvfm6oJbw4bht4
Please use only this one even if you have another BoardDiag. I have tried other versions and this was the only one that worked. For the other versions I always got some error:
failed during loading flash programmer
or
device not found in dload trying flash programmer
With this tool we will extract the .tot rom image first.
Unrar the archive and open BoardDiag3.99c application.
Click on the ... button next to BIN from the Image Extraction section on the bottom of the BoardDiag application and browse to the .tot file you downloaded at step 3.
Then click on the ... button next to DIR and browse to a folder to extract the files in.
Click on the Extract button and wait for the files to be extracted.
After the extraction is complete, close the BoardDiag application.
hxxp://i.imgur.com/Kw0ZhUv.jpg
5. Now we will perform some cheks on the tablet.
Open the BoardDiag application again.
Now select the AP check and EMMC TEST checkboxes from the Board Diag Test section on the top-left.
Also choose the G-pro (APQ8064) on the AP Chipset dropdown selection box. Choose the Com Port that you took a note of at step 2. Select as the Target Dir the folder where you extracted the .tot image file at step 4. These settings are in the top-right side of the BoardDiag application. Make no other changes to the settings.
Now Click on the big START button and wait for the checks to be made.
If everything is OK you should see under the Test Results section the green text PASS both under the AP and EMMC. Leave the BoardDiag application open. Now you can proceed to step 6.
6. Now we will Flash the files to the tablet.
Now you will also check the SDRAM TEST checkbox on the left top side of the BoardDiag application. The other settings were already made in step 5. Click the START button again.
After performing the checks you should see that the files from the image (aboot.mbn, boot.mbn, etc.) are written to the tablet.
After that, the BoardDiag tried to reset the tablet, but it failed and it ended with FAIL for SDRAM under the Test Results section. But the files were already written on the tablet.
7. After that I disconnected and reconnected the tablet to the PC. Nothing was detected, or so I thought, because I could see that in Device Manager something was happening. It was like refreshing itself every 5 seconds or so. I disconnected the tablet from the PC and I plugged in the wall charger. It turns out that the battery had no power.
After a few minutes the LG logo appeared on the screen. Nothing else was happening but I could see the LG logo. I left the tablet to charge the battery for at LEAST 3 hours. If your tablet battery is also discharged you should plug your tablet to the charger for at LEAST 3 hours.
After that I reconnected the tablet to the PC and it was detected as G Pad but it couldn't find the driver.
8. Install the LG Mobile Drivers.
You can get them from here:
hxxp://mega.nz/#!j8xikSYC!Njz3E1_PSJanzQEeZCbbEoWfxUz9TfrTVgusqBCJ2qY
After the driver installation reconnect the tablet to the PC.
It should now be connected properly.
9. Download LG Mobile Support Tool. You can use the launcher from here:
hxxp://mega.nz/#!bp5jgBQJ!xqiMyQU7z-ATlYz__0ybz2kM7boeLFNgqsu5XoPPSzo
Open LG Mobile Support Tool. You should now see the tablet is connected correctly and you should see the tablet model on the left side of the LG Mobile Support Tool. You will now go to Options and choose Upgrade Recovery. Wait for the image to be downloaded and flashed to the tablet.
After the process is completed the tablet will boot to life again.
Please write your comments bellow if you succeeded or failed. I will provide further assistance if required.
PS: I think you need to remove the battery and reinsert it after step 6. Or it could also work if you let the battery discharge completely.
Good luck!
I could not post the images and the links.
I will add them later (after I get to 10 posts).
Contact me on skype (cyadron) for the files and for other help.

This sounds very promising @cyadron, hopefully you'll be able to edit the links in soon.
@muiriddin this sounds like you should be able to revive your tablet from your science experiment.
@fefifofum posting here instead of the other thread as that would be way off topic for it.
This sounds like we'll be able to do some proper experimenting and still be able to recover if it doesn't work!
Hopefully I will be able to post the links soon. Does anyone know the minimum number of posts required to post links?

This thread should probably be pinned. You can request the moderators to do so by "reporting" your first post and ask them there. Too bad, as far as I know, there aren't any TOTs available for the VK810, although I haven't needed one yet.

Unless there is a hardware problem with the emmc, it should work.
Try and remove the battery and put it back again.
Please also make sure you follow the steps as described.

Read everything you can and follow instructions.
I think you'll need to search further than just this thread though. I read about someone recovering an LG device from this state but I think it was a phone.
But you'll need to find it and follow the instructions, I don't remember where I read it.

Hi,
Here are some details about my problem copied from my own reddit post:"
Model number: Shark 1 Android Version: 5.1 Build number: LEAGOO_Shark 1_OS1.2_20160912
I followed the following steps:
1.Start smart phone flash tool.
2.Select the right download agent.
3.Select the correct twrp txt scatter file thingy.
4.Press the really big download button.
5.I connect my phone.
6.It goes to a way too quick process; after that it says it succeeded.
7.I disconnect my phone.
8.Press the power button and volume up button.
9.After a few seconds, some text pops up and I select the recovery mode there.
10.This is the point where it goes really weird. one time it goes with a falling-over andriod guy. The other time it just boots.
In the comments someone asked me I had to unlock my bootloader. From another source it said I did not need to, all I had to do was flash a stock rom on my device. I would love some help doing that.
See you in the comments!
OOPS!
You were following guides on XDA, and throwing random commands in ADB from the posts under the guides (DON'T DO THIS!) and now your slick new ROG phone 2 doesn't have mobile data, calls, wifi, or bluetooth. You quickly find out that flashing the phone with any firmware old or new, doesn't help you, as this issue is directly linked to your chip in your phone.
I quickly found that I needed a QCN file from someone with a rog 2 phone, however I could not get any help here on XDA except from the user Greatuser123, who did not want to give out his QCN file (understandably), but did send me some notes to try and help with other tools.
With nothing working, and no QCN file, I ordered another ROG 2 and waited for it in the mail. After it got here, I quickly extracted the QCN file, replaced the IMEI's in it, and used QPST to restore my phone.
I am simply writing this guide with the generic QCN file with my info masked out of it, so no one has to go through what I went through.
Common issue
This most commonly happens with ROG 2 Phones from the commands:
DO NOT RUN THESE COMMANDS UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING!
(spaced command to ensure no one runs this!)
fastboot erase modem st 1
fastboot erase modem st 2
Click to collapse
On most phones, on a reboot, these partitions would be restored on reboot, but not on most ROG's.
Prerequisites
Rooted Phone
QPST
Qualcomm USB drivers
IMEI Converter
Platform Tools
The Fix
Follow the above root linked video, or find the root thread for your phone here on XDA, and root your phone. This will not work unless you are rooted, although I do not know how you would get into this mess without having your phone rooted already.
Install QPST tools
Install Qualcomm USB drivers
Download the attached zip "good_qcn.zip" and extract the .QCN file anywhere on your machine
Open the .QCN file with any Hex Editor (I used HxD) and search for the Hex-Values: 08 3A 85 99 99 99 99 99 99
NOTE: There will be TWO locations with this value. This is where your IMEI_1 and IMEI_2 will go. Your IMEI_2 goes into the FIRST occurrence, while your IMEI_1 goes in the second.
Download the IMEI Converter app and type in your IMEI_1 and click "Convert", place the converted hex output into a notepad or similar
Do the same for your IMEI_2 and place it in the same location
Now that you have the HEX version of both your IMEI's, paste your IMEI_2 in the FIRST occurrence of the fake IMEI in the QCN file
Paste your IMEI_1 in the last occurrence of the fake IMEI and now save your new .QCN file.
Ensure your device is in USB Debugging Mode.
Download and extract the Platform Tools if you do not have them already.
Plug your phone into your computer using either port
Navigate to your extracted Platform Tools and in a Command Line type "adb devices" to ensure your device is visible.
Run a shell with "adb shell" and elevate your permission with "su"
Now it is time to enable Diag mode by running "setprop sys.usb.config rndis, diag, adb"
At this time, if you installed the Qualcomm Drivers, your device manager should have a port similar to "Qualcomm HS-USB Diag". If not keeping trying to re-enter diag mode and ensure the drivers are correct.
Open up "QPST Configuration" which was installed earlier. You should see your phone listed under "Active Phones". Click "Start Clients" -> "Software Download"
The Port field of the QPST Software Download should list your phone, if not something is wrong.
Click "Restore", and in the xQCN field, click "Browse", change the file type from XQCN to QCN, and select your newly made QCN file
Click "Start", and once the process is done, restart your phone
Conclusion
If all went well, your phone should now have all its bells and whistles again. Sometimes it may require a Factory Reset, and this should always be the practice anyways. If you have mobile data, but only H+ or EDGE, dial *#*#4636#*#* on your phone and ensure LTE is provisioned.
Good luck guys!

Hi bro, Nice to meet you and I did my best to help you out, as I spent some stress on this when I was one of the first people that suffered with this issue. And gladly you solved it, bro you misunderstood badly about I did not want to give you the qcn, I was going to give you my qcn file but first I was asking to you for some proof , photo of same phone as me and the package to know that you are not going to change or edit badly ( doing mischievousness) as you never sent the proof I did not send the qcn file.. you can re check again your messages. Bro
Thank you very much for this, life saver.
My wifi and bluetooth works fine but I cannot get my mobile to power back on. When I go into the menu mobile power is just not there :/

This QCN came from a global device, but I imagine this could be used to recover the mobile at least temporary to fully fix the device, no matter the origins.
Sorry for the delay.

No no, please do not think I meant you by that. It was other users (understandably) that questioned my motives before you. I absolutely would have taken you up on your offer if I did not already have the phone on the way Either way, I really appreciate your help during this, and I hope you continue to help other users the same way you did for me.

After a lot of heart ache and even making an EDL cable I could not get cell network back. I"ve sent it into ASUS to get fixed. I have made a few backups and will diff them when I get my device back so hopefully I can see what they have fixed so others don't have to experience this.
