[Q] Anybody on the $30 month prepaid plan Unlimited text + 5gb 4g data??? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hey I have an unlocked Att GN2 and I'm thinking about going to this Tmo prepaid plan if it still available. I mainly text and from what I remember I think it also comes with 100 min. I want to know if LTE is available will I get it? And anybody in Jacksonville Fl picking up LTE with Tmobile service? Thanks in advance. ...... and yes I have already Enabled AWS Bands

Yeah 4glte is now the default network when using T-Mobile switches to hspa+ or edge when you lose lte signal. Which is normal. I don't have that plan but its the same for all T-Mobile.

Does T-mobile GS3 work on ATT HSPA+?

Hi, im new, 2nd post (1st thread)
So heres some background info, I have AT&T but i work for t-mobile. Had my AT&T GS2 phone stolen by a t-mobile customer and the company I work for are great people and decided to replace my GS2 with a t-mobile gs3 for $100. They even offered me a dealer line to go with it (I get unlimited everything [NO THROTTLING] for $22 a month)
So heres my question. I know for sure that it wouldnt connect to AT&T LTE but for whatever reason if I decide to unlock and use it on my AT&T plan, does it have the proper bands required to connect to AT&T's HSPA+ network or would I be running edge?
I know all iphone's used on T-Mobile only run EDGE. (Coming later this fall they will be able to connect to t-mobile's 4g HSPA+ network)
Anybody have a clue?
I'm pretty sure it would work on atnt 3g speeds
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
It will work. The T999 has support for 1900 Mhz hspa+, which is the AT&T band.
Thanks. Much appreciated.
Confirmed working. I unlocked my T999. I have 2 sim cards, StraightTalk and Tmobile monthly 4G. I travel a lot, so depending on which carrier gives me the best signal that's what I would use. Usually, StraightTalk would give me the better signals...although Tmobile still gives me faster data speeds. just thought id share .02.

Hi, I'm waking up this thread as I have the T999 phone and recently switched to Straight Talk SIM (AT&T).
I only get EDGE on the phone using my Straight Talk SIM.
Is there anything I need to do with the phone? It runs the latest stock, not rooted or modified as such. It is carrier unlocked.
I unlocked my t999 and using it on my contract att plan, getting hspa+ atm, just check the bands that it supports, which are 850mhz 1900mhz for att's 3.5g(not 4g) LTE is 4G.

What apn settings do you use? I plugged my ATT sim into an unlocked SGH-T999 today with the ST APN settings and only get 3G. Speed isn't bad - 1164k down/1041 up, but I would like to tap into the HSPA+ if possible.

International HOX on AT&T

When AT&T runs my HOX IMEI through their system, they tell me it isn't eligible for HSPA+ 4g plan, so i'm stuck on a normal 3g plan.
What bothers me most, is that i previously had the HSDPPB (Unlimited HSPA+ 4g) plan on this phone, before i gave it to my girlfriend.
They tell me that the unlimited plans are less IMEI sensetive than their non-unlimited counterparts.
Has anyone else experienced this?
I'm on att. While we're not eligible for lte, they gave me no arguments about my data plan.

Keep trying, explain that you've noticed that your phone is constantly hitting a cap in speeds.
If you can use the Phone APN though, stop worrying because that's the only thing you need to access for HSPA+.
When I took my phone in to get a SIM, the guy just gave me the SIM. I was already on the LTE plan, but he said he needed to change it to the LTE plan. (He assumed it was the AT&T One X I guess.

If you just cut your full size SIM or got a micro SIM from an AT&T store you shouldn't have needed to change your plan. AT&T offers three types of data plans: 1) 3G (MediaNET APN), 2) 4G ("Phone" APN), and 3) 4G LTE. The s/n of your SIM is added to your account so that when you connect to the network the right APN settings are utilized by the SIM. Both one and two deliver the same speeds (HSPA+). The difference between a 3G and 4G plan are the servers you're routed through. The 4G servers are what AT&T uses to throttle people who've reach their soft cap. The 3G plan has no soft cap. A lot of us are using the data for Non-Smartphone's plan (3G) for $10 a month because AT&T isn't reading the One X's IMEI as a smartphone. My international 3G G-Note 10.1 is on my plan as a second “dumb” phone also for $10 a month because AT&T isn’t reading its IMEI either.
Thanks for this clarification BarryH,
based on your distinction b/w regular 3g and 4g (3g+) plans, i don't think i'll waste any more time fighting with AT&T over this.

The Phone APN also allows speeds faster than 7.5 Mbps as ATT caps Wap.cingular to to lower speeds.

unlocked Note 2 works with AT&T LTE?

might go back to note again..tried the note 1 but returned it for a GS3 before my 30 days return..i dont normally get first gen devices but i miss the note..
i watched the sammy video and said that it will have 3G/4G LTE support so that means the unlocked version will have 3G/4G LTE or only 3G/4G hsap+ on unlocked..?
how much do unlocked note 2 will sell for?
thanks:good:
Well the one for the UK does not have LTE. The Euro one will have LTE but in the States the LTE will not work (different frequencies for LTE). So before you jump out and buy do your research. Buying a Note2 will be much more confusing this time around.

Will the Note 2 have HSPA 42?
I ask because I plan on using the international version on TMo prepaid once they change their network spectrum.

has anyone gone from lte to hspa+speeds and regret it?

I thought lte was 4G? I'm thinking of holding out for the lte version but then again the plans (here in Aus) will be dearer and most of the time I'm on WIFI so I may just get an international 32/64gb version when released rather than wait 2 years for it to come out on a carrier! lol
iPhone Tapatalk
unlock gets better support but here at XDA we got great devs that supports all versions as long as carriers play nice..
I'm getting my SGN2 tomorrow and I'll be downgrading from LTE to HSPA+ here in Toronto Canada... its gonna take some getting used to but I would gladly take mode battery life at this moment.
I've had a SGSIII with LTE (i747) and LTE was great but the support for the unlock international version was far more available.

so i have a GS3 on ATT LTE i have unlimited data grandfather from iphone... do i have to set up my account to HSAP+ on att or just slap my 4G sim card on the unlocked note 2? also i will still get throttle 5GB running HSAP+? i got throttled on LTE and was not fun.. i think i can re call you can do it over the phone or something that you can change the LTE ATT GS3 to only use HSAP+ or its best to keep my LTE setting so i can still get my 5GB till trottle.. will att know im on a HSAP+ and downgrade my unlimited throttling to 3GB instead of 5GB?

No need to change any plans, take advantage of that 5gb throttle cap. Just put the sim card in note 2 and it should work and yes you will get throttled after using 5gb cap even if it's hsap+. Only change is simcard size I think? Not sure note 2 uses microsim? If not than you might need a sim adapter(not recommend, gets stuck often) or new sim from att.

Yeah me too, I had note 1 but was having too much problems with screen so I returned it. Now I'm deciding if I want US LTE or international hspa+. Att coverage is horrible where I'm and I can barely get 1~2mbps on hspa+. I might even switch to tmobile since they now have true unlimited plan.

Moving into US, Which network should I use?

Hi,
I am moving to US soon. I would like to know which network is good in San Jose, California (95112) area.
I own an international Galaxy Note 2, would like to know whether their network support HSDPA/HSDPA+?
My question is which network has higher data speed? SMS and voice call are not so important for me.
I did do some google in AT&T and T-Mobile. Would like to know which network do you all recommended and use.
Thanks
Att is a safer bet because of the signal, but t-mobile isn't so bad also if you stay only in big cities.
I would try T-Mobile on their $30 100min, unlimited text and 5gb of hs data prepaid. If that is good enough for you stay with that or upgrade to one of their unlimited talk/text/tiered or unlimited data plans. If you see coverage being spotty where you most frequent then at&t will be the safer bet.

Hello Melvin,
Welcome to USA..
I live here in Bay Area, Oakland, san Francisco and San Jose
I am using International Note 2 and S4 i1905, my carrier is Straight Talk around $45 a month unlimited text talk and data.
Straight talk is using AT&T tower, so your note2 will support HSDPA/HSDPA+
which I am using right now.
anyway hope that help ...
Jesus u.s is expensive when it comes to cell phones. In Sweden I pay 35$ unlimited calls unlimited text and mms and unlimited 4g data. And we don't have anything called long distance like in the u.s.

It is confusing. Goto tmobiles prepaid website. I think it is T-Mobile.com/prepaidactivation. I am using it now but tmobiles post paid seems to have better service. I tried their postpaid recently and got signal almost everywhere. I am having less joy on their prepaid. It is still a great deal if it works for you.

It is very interesting, $45 for everything. Also, $60 including international call. I have checked the website and unable to find the locations of international call. If you have the location, please link me there.
So basically it runs on internet? And how is the internet actually, is it fast enough? As I am using International version of Note 2, it only support up to HSDPA+.
And lastly, is tether supported?

for international calling I would refer you buy the prepaid phone card here for $5 bucks for around 2 hrs I think , but not sure.
for HSDPA speed is not that fast, and not that low...you can live with that speed
tether is supported, but if you abuse it, they will terminate your service...
I tether sometimes... not much.. but it work....
