Can anybody get this to work? I'm constantly dropped wifi direct signal with my tv. I successfully got it to mirror for 5 seconds before it froze. And most of the time I can't even get the N7 to detect my tv in the wifi direct settings. While I have my Note2 right next to it, it can detect it no problem.
Anybody have this working flawlessly? I'm also getting random reboots.. so I'll return this tomorrow I guess (16gb)

I was testing this last night. It is finicky but I got it to work pretty well.
Two things to note based on my observation:
1. Rotating the screen during mirroring drops the connection. This has to be a software bug because my S4 does not do this.
2. The wifi antenna seem to be at the top half of the tablet...so if you're in landscape mode, hold the tablet such that you don't have your hand over that portion. I find that the connection quality is extremely dependent on how you hold the tablet.

I don't have the ability to test it, as i don't have a miracast enabled device, but that sounds a lot like the old 'you're holding it wrong,'Apple quip.
I got the same issues as Lolento.
My Netgear Pvt3000 works perfectly fine with my HTC One (ARHD 12.3 rooted). When i connect it to my Nexus7 2013 (Stock rooted) it starts lagging horribly as soon as i swap it into landscape.
Got no solution for that so far. Kinda disappointing.

I have no problems with my PTV3000. Did you update to the latest firmware? Except for an one second occasional slip in video, it works flawlessly. My only problem is that the TV shows it in a 1280x720 resolution.

Weird. I'm on 4.3 (Build JSS15J). Is there somewhere the latest firmware for download available? Thanks.
I would really prefer to cast it from my Nexus instead of my One.

Exactly...I'll probably flash a Custom Rom...and see if there's any difference.
Used it with the last unofficial cm10.w nightly and then with the official nightly from a few days ago with a rocketfish miracast reciever from best buy. I thought it was strange that it worked because people have been reporting that it doesnt work on CM at all. With the compression decreasing the quality ive just decided to use my chromecast with the new aircast app that koush is testing now. Dont really game on my android devices so didnt really see a point to get frustrated over full mirroring.

I shot a video of the video/audio dropping issue that occurs with my Nexus 7 2013 & PTV3000 and uploaded it in YouTube.
Sorry for the bad quality. I thought of doing this since I got a private message from a member asking me how well the gaming works with Miracast. In the video, I am playing a YouTube video first, then GTA 3 and finally camera app.

I wish this as well, but in our case with the GN, it has only been on the market for 3 weeks. As early adopters app compatibility will be a hassle for a couple of months.

I can confirm it works. I've used it now several times since I've had this phone, both the front camera and the back camera work perfectly. I even took it a step further and connected my phone to the television via mhl so I could see her on the tv while I talked (you'd be surprised how well the mic picked me up). I set my phone on it's side and had it pointing across the room (a la Kinect) and it worked beautifully. Long story short, yes it works. Perhaps the people it isn't working for are running custom roms or have made some sort of change to their phone. I am still stock, with the exception of having installed google wallet.
The first time i used it was crashed but yesterday i tried again and it was working. i had video calling conversation for about 30 mins?! rear and front camera was working fine
I tried a couple minutes ago and it did work. I am using a rooted stock ROM.
This is weird. First time I tried Skype video didn't work, but having read your posts I gave it another shot. It worked fine now.
Looks like Skype made a server side fix. Video transmitting works, albeit only in landscape mode.
Works on Many Samsung TouchWiz based ROMs. Confirmed Working on Galaxy S2, S3, Tab 10.1
For some reason, beyond my comprehension, Samsung have this great app, but have yet to open it up to the SGS3. I have been resorting to downloading it and installing it on my HTC HD2 (Running CM9) backing it up with Titanium, and then copying the backup over to my SGS3, and restoring the backup. A bit round about, but works.
The App, for those that don't know, allows you, with a Samsung high-end TV or BR-Player, use the app to not only as a remote, but as a second mirrored screen, with audio. Great for trips to the kitchen, bathroom, outside, or in another room (although range is limited by your router).
[Supported TV Models]
- Samsung Smart TV released in 2011:
Models greater or equal to LED 7000, PDP 8000
- Samsung Smart TV released in 2012:
Models greater or equal to LED ES7500,(Models greater or equal to LED ES7000 in Europe, Models greater or equal to PDP E8000 Models(E7000 Models in North America)
[Supported Phone]
While technically only SGS2, it works with SGS3 stock rooted rom, but should work on most with a stock base. It will not work on CM9/10 and ASOP ROM's but you could give it a try and let me know.
Here is the actual app, I extracted it from my Titanium backup figuring someone could use it until Samsung get around to updating the Market to let you just download it. The only thing I can't get to work is Bluetooth power on. I can pair with my TV, but it just doesn't show up until I have turned it on. I also had an issue with it working over the the 5Ghz 802.11n band, but with 3.1.9 that doesn't seem to be an issue anymore.
Version 3.1.9 - 39MB - Confirmed Working for me with 2011 PDP51D8000 Model
Version 3.2.0 - 40MB - Also Confirmed working
Older Version 3.1.7 for those of you with issues
The Full description from Google Play:
[About the Application]
This application is Wi-Fi remote control for Samsung Smart TV. If both your phone and TV are connected to the same wireless Router, your phone will link to the TV automatically where you can use your phone like a remote control. The TV can also transfer live feeds to your phone.
[Main Features]
- Dual View
Enjoy TV and other multimedia right from your mobile device that’s connected to Samsung Smart TV. You can even send what you’re watching on your mobile device to TV and watch it from TV.
- Bluetooth PowerOn {I will add, never got this to work, despite pairing TV}
You can use your mobile device to turn on your TV using Bluetooth (available for certain TV and mobile devices only).
- Remote
Your mobile device can work as remote for your Samsung TV or BD products. Full remote screen is provided by default, and three tabs are provided at the bottom of the screen to help you control connected devices with ease. On screen keyboard shows up automatically when you need to enter text.
- Game Controller
With this feature, your mobile device can control games on TV. Full and Simple modes are available. Turn on Gyro function on your mobile device, and control games by tilting your mobile device.
- Movie Note (Models BD-E5900 or above, HTE4000or above (US only))
You can get information of DVD/BD title on your mobile, while you watching movies.
Ratings, synopsis, cast and director's information will be provided.
- Audio Settings (Models HT- E4000 or above)
You can control your speaker system by your phone.
Sound mode, distance of each speaker and sound level(dB) can be changed.
- Remote Scheduler (Models BD-E8000 series, STB-E7000 series EU/Australia/New Zealand Only)
Recording TV shows through your TV when you're outside.
- Settings
You can fine-tune control for TV and BD by adjusting gesture sensitivity in your mobile device.
[How to set up]
1.Check if Wireless Remote Control or Network Remote Control is enabled in your TV’s System or Setup menu. If you don’t see either of them in the menu, Samsung Smart View App can’t be used in your mobile device.
2.Connect wireless/wired router to TV LAN port, or connect Samsung Wireless LAN adapter to TV USB port.
3.Connect your phone to wireless/wired router.
Saving this potentially for a place to list the Rom's it works with. for now it is just:

Glad it helped, It just doesn't make sense to not allow the direct download. It clearly works on the SGS3, so it makes no sense. They have also updated the app several times since the SGS3 release 3.17 was the version I first installed. So they are working on the app, just wish they would switch it on for us to access right from market.

You may have to look around your TV menus for the option to turn on networked remotes. I had an issue where I somehow disabled my phone and could not get it to connect. Also are you using a 2.4ghz or 5ghz router, if using one, try the other. Finally check your router settings, to see if there is something there preventing connectivity.

Unfortunately, all this has already been verified. Consider that already use a Samsung Galaxy SII and it works great, therefore the router is fine. Among the other with the 'SIII the program works, but also sees the TV when the connection is disconnected after a few seconds by sending an error message that says: "the first use to connect to the internet" .... ideas?

I am not exactly sure what you are seeing. Are you using a stock rom? If you see the TV in the list, but Dual View is not working, then it isn't seeing your phone as supported for Dual View. This could be a build.prop issue, or a necessary file is missing. If it isn't seeing your TV, then there is a connection issue. This is what I had with 802.11n 5Ghz. When on 5Ghz, I couldn't see my TV, back to 2.4Ghz and all was fine. I thought this issue resolved on 3.19.
You may try resetting your router, trying it insecure to see if you can get it to work, but I guess it can be a bit flakey for some. There is nothing inherent in the application, that I know of, that should prevent it from working on the SGS3, unless the ROM you are using is modified. In that case, make a Nandroid backup, install a stock (Rooted if you like) ROm and test again, if it works, it is your ROM, if it doesn't, it is your network.

From the router side I would agree, if you see the tv in the app, router is fine. The only thing I can think of is if this is an ITALIAN version issue. I know that when upgrading to ICS some stock ROMs for the SGS2 stopped working. I think this may be the case and something in the localization is causing the connection issue.
In your case maybe try to port the app over from your sgs2 as it could also contain something specific. You can use my method from the first post. Otherwise I am afraid you may need another rom but that's also going to depend on what ROMs it runs on. I only know it works on US T-Mobile but with close to 300 downloads yours is the first time I have seen it not work so there is hopefully a stock based ROM for you with enough not removed to let this app work.
Sorry it isn't better news. As a last resort, you could try to factory reset, install only this app. That way you can ensure no other app is interfering.
Good luck, let me know how it works out.

I was having them quite often, figured out it was only when I had DSP manager or Awesome beats installed AND set to modify the bluetooth sound. Not sure if this is your case or not but thought I would chime in. To fix I just unchecked ALL options under bluetooth then unpaired. (Turn off BT go into BT on phone, unpair, turn BT on phone off, reboot phone) then I repaired and no more disconnects.

My heart rate monitor and nokia head set disconnects too much. Over 5 times in one hour.
My wife's GN also disconnects from her Kenwood head unit. Far less frequently than mine, but it happens. I'm surprised more people haven't chimed in on this issue. My dad just got his GN yesterday so I'll check his tonight to see if it too suffers from this problem.

using stock or other custom roms it will start to cut out or skip when i put the phone in my pocket and at highway speed it loses connection completely.

The Nexus 7 (2013) can now do full screen casting through Chromecast - I've done it, but the delay between the device and the Chromecast is pretty bad. There is a good 4-6 second delay between the two. It starts off perfect, but quickly slows down. Just wondering how anyone else's experiences are.
I get about 1/3 second lag. What's your router, any g devices?
Mine won't work, I just get FC of google play services (I read some others have the same issue, it's a cleanly installed 4.4.4 stock ROM), not a big deal, I'm not the type who needs to cast the screen from my device anyway, but it's nice to know it's there, it's a beta, so hopefully it will be addressed.
Mine works flawlessly. Little to no latency. I can play Clash of Clans on my TV :good::laugh:
Mine is also working perfectly, pretty cool
I use a Cisco ValetPlus (Wireless N). It's definitely not the router - but I haven't used my Chromecast in months prior to this, maybe it needs an update to enable WiFi Direct or whatever the new protocol is.
If it doesn't work at all, try rebooting the chromecast. Long lag might be interference, change router channel?

I have exactly the same versions. Weird.
Thanks for taking the time to post that though.
My cast screen works perfectly, depending on app in use I might see instances where the audio goes out of sync for a half a second, but virtually no lag whatsoever.
For those keeping score, I think my issue is due to viper4android, casting works fine in android L for me (where there is no viper installed), and based on the logcat in 4.4.4 when it fails it looks like the audio portion is where it crashes, this weekend I will copy my 4.4.4 rom to a secondary slot and remove viper to confirm.
Looks like I may be on the right track: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54073200&postcount=14279

The exact same as Matt posted earlier.

Newest update to the Chromecast app has it working perfectly.
I am not experiencing any issues with wifi or touchscreen input on my Pixel C, so doing this wouldn't really be relevant, but I am curious if somebody with the aforementioned problems has tried flashing the MXB48K factory image from here https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images?hl=en
I know that there hasn't been any word from Google on what the MXB48K image is, but I figure you can't irreversibly harm your Pixel C by doing it and it may have updated Wifi and/or touchscreen drivers that help with the problems people are having. I'd be happy to help write up some instructions, if necessary, should somebody decide to try it.
Most peoples tablets updated to this build when switched on anyway

Are you 100% sure about that? Mine is fully up to date, according to the built in update, but it is still on MXB48J

Same I'm still on J also. Mine updated when I turned it on but its still the J build.
Yeah I'm wondering if this build fixed the wifi and touchscreen problems. If it did I would reorder
Edit: Actually, this build was uploaded at the same time the J build was uploaded wasn't it? That would just mean it has the same problems

I'll double check when I get home but when I switched the tablet on there was an update and I just assumed it was OK 38J already since there was only 2 images available
Not to mention there is no change log for either build. Worth a shot if someone has time over Christmas but I won't consider reordering it until Google officially issues a fix for these issues.
Turns out you were correct and it's on build 48J
I'm gonna flash the other one now I guess see what the deal is.
Wonder what version the tablet is on when first open though :S

I am interested to find out if it helps. I may flash mine to K just for ****s and giggles.
See i;m looking at the other build and it's the same date
I doubt it's actually worth flashing, if it was something important it would have been OTA'd by now
I just got done setting up my Pixel C on MXB48K. Seems to work fine. Again, I wasn't noticing the wifi problems or touchscreen problems, but I ran some control tests for the wifi before i flashed it. I will run the same tests before I go to bed and see if it makes a difference.

Now that Google's Pixel C is available for purchase on the Google Store, the company has posted the first set of factory images for the device. There are two Android 6.0.1 images available, carrying the build numbers MXB48J and MXB48K, respectively.
Editor's note: We were informed that MXB48J is the official released build. MXB48K is for development purposes.

oRAirwolf - is the Multi-window option available in the K build Developer Options by any chance?

I don't see it in there, no. I wish Google would be a little more transparent with the factory image differences.
does the k build have the same 2 stage bootloader?

I'm not really sure what that is. If you can describe what to look for, I am happy to check.
I've been on this build for awhile and I don't have issues, BUT! I didn't notice any issues while on J either. So I may just have a better unit.

It is my hope that somebody who is experiencing issues give this build a try. This build definitely works fine for me.

Thank you for testing this.
Are you a bit of a distance away from your router. Like the other side of the house or up/down a floor? The wifi works fine when you are in close proximity but rapidly degrades the further away you get. Ll of my other devices are fine anywhere in the house except for the Pixel C.
You can use speed test apps for mbps speed tests and the Wifi Analyzer app to test the dBm level.
Using these really shows the difference between the Pixel C and all my other devices. It is not just a numbers thing either. I really see slower internet speeds in use.

What if you install the K version, atg? Does it solve your wifi issue?
