Never tried MIUI. I'll try it now, then. Been lovin' CM7 on my Atrix, and before my Atrix had it been lovin' on the Bravo.
Time to see what all the hype is about, I guess.

Nice Btw, I really like it. It's really different, and I really don't mind the iPhone elements that are added, looks kind of nice. And woah, unlimited lockscreens...
Also thanks for all of your work. You're like the only pro dev on this phone right now. Bandroidx was pro as well, but he kinda left. Anyways please keep it up, you're pretty much the only one holding everyone with this phone up, and you're doing a great job.
He's not so much a pro as he is willing to do the research and is quickly becoming a pro. All we needed as a community was someone like him... willing to dedicate some time in doing the work I just wish I knew where to look myself. Keep up the good work!

Nice, can't wait. Maybe this will fix the issue I'm getting, data connection randomly stops working and you have to restart the phone?
great work!
there's still some chinese text, though! :>
I am having huge upload errors with the file... if you want miui just download it from the defy section of miui main site (not miui us) then download defy English pack. Copy system files from English pack and pit them on miui zip. Then copy over my entire Meta folder... delete boot devtree logo... use sbf fix in first post if you have bootloader error. Then you don't have to wait for my update anymore.. I already did the harder stuff with editing updater zip and making fixed sbf.. if anyone makes one and wants to put up download link.. I will add to first post

Where is your "Meta" folder? Where are the files that hold the order of the capacitive buttons? Where are the files that will make it to where the Defy MIUI will work with the Bravo MIUI?
is there a way, on miui, to turn off icon labels on homescreens? they're kind of obnoxious and i'd love to get rid of them!
Easiest way is download miui for defy.. wipe data cache
Update in recovery.. then you will get bootloader error...
Now flash my rdannarfix.sbf with rsdlite in first post and it will fix the
Bootloader error. The sbf flashes are kernel and devtree and some other core files to get it to work. I used the sbf splitter and took out some files then repackaged it.
If you run into problems just post them and i will help you.
My plan is to let people know how to do it so someone can take over the rom development. I only have this phone until October then I'm getting an atrix. So i plan on porting as many roms as i can to help out bravo community. Anyone can use my roms to build there own and post them. Just give the proper credits to the people i ported from
Reboot and miui will boot up.
You will have service but not 3g. You need to replace files in system/etc/motorola/bvpn
Jorgon posted the signal fix files in his thread.
Then you are done.

Hello Galaxy Nexus Xda Users!
Informations:
Here is a simple apk to odex automatically, easily and securely deodexed roms.
This apk has been coded by the famous Paul Obrien from Modaco Roms and Forums.
This guy is just a genious.
The original apk has been done for Galaxy S II but it works on Galaxy Nexus (tested working). --> Original thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1215271
Paul is even using it in his own Galaxy Nexus 4.0.4 Custom Rom here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1487056
But I tested the apk on other 4.0.3 deodexed roms that you can find in the development section of the Galaxy Nexus and it is working perfectly (Aokp odexed rom is wonderful...)
Odexing a deodexed rom is giving you a boost in smoothness (you can see it in the launcher or in scrolling through system apps), performance and battery.
It gives you the flexibility to have a custom rom with modified system, framework and design AND all the tweaks that come with a custom rom in addition to the performance of an odexed stock rom.
To use it:
1) make sure you have a custom rooted rom / kernel with init.d support (scripts must be able to run at boot: it is a folder in /system/etc). It is very important or it won't run pre-boot scripts... Thanks to open1your1eyes0 who remarked it.
You can try this useful application to add init.d support to your ROM / kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1933849
2) make sure that you don't have transparent status bar before odexing or you will loose your bar after odexing... (for AOKP users for example). Thanks to frantic912 who noticed it.
3) simply put the apk in /system/app folder with a file browser like "Root Explorer" (the folder must be in RW mode to copy the file)
4) do a nandroid backup in cwm and / or titanium backup of all your apps (even the system ones like Gmail)
5) then go to the launcher
6) tap "Odex me"
7) follow the instructions
It will:
1) reboot your phone
2) odex all the system staying on a black screen or on the Google screen a bit longer than normally (but it's normal)
3) put a ".odex" file with each app in /system/app
4) reboot again
5) go back to home
--> You will then see your boost in smoothness!
For people who are not convinced: check that: http://android.stackexchange.com/qu...e-difference-between-odexed-and-deodexed-roms
To see if it worked:
- Go to /system/app folder and see if there is a ".odex extension" for each system apk.
I attached the apk to this thread for ease of use.
Please write here your tests, opinions, questions, and thank Paul (and me for giving you this info ) for this wonderful and simple apk.
P.S. Please read reports from other users in the thread before trying the apk as some users seem to loose their status bar if they set transparency effects or some of them are having "force closes" if the rom they are using is too much themed...
P.S.2. Pay attention please, as androidphone2012 intelligently noticed, this apk can only odex *.apk files. The system framework is not odexed by it. To odex the framework too, please use the following script instead. It odexes *.apk files and Framework *.jar files too.
--> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2278586
If you already ran the apk to odex apk files, do not flash that zip: re-flash your ROM, GApps and MODs you're using and then flash the zip.
For your information, I tested the CM10.1 zip from the thread on my AOKP latest nightly build version and it worked flawlessly.
Looks cool. Nothing is attached to your post though.
Can I use it on other devices? (Galaxy si900)
I don't think this works. It rebooted and when I booted back and checked, there were no .odex files in the /system/app folder. Has anyone else got it working?
FYI, tested on 4.0.4 stock deodexed ROM.

So apparently I spoke to soon...
The app ran this time but after the reboot and odex process, my SystemUI wouldn't load and I ended up with no notification bar up top or any soft-keys at all. Also it was back to stock wallpaper. Not sure what happened, it looked like everything went through fine but I guess my SystemUI is borked.
Recovering from backup now...
I am not sure what caused this issue. I did have modded soft-keys and battery icon however, but I don't see why this would matter if a lot of the custom ROMs have modded soft-keys anyway. I would like to point out this was on stocked deodexed 4.0.4 ROM. If this works for anyone else, I would surely like to know. MAKE SURE you backup before trying.
Thank you Flolep
It works great for me, but I don't know why Gmail disappeared. But it's still in /system/app, so I tried to install and I get this : Application not installed

It's a system app so you can't "install" it. It has to be flashed into the ROM. I have a feeling this app is not exactly the most reliable in working with all the apks.

Well. I didn't have any problem with it... Gmail was still there and my framework and system ui didn't have any problem after reboot...
I tried with modaco 4.0.4 rom that is near stock 4.0.4 deodexed rom and I tried with heavily customized aokp latest aokp build 25 rom, configured for my needs, battery percent, toggles, navigation controls in blue, etc, etc, and all worked seamlessly...
I add to first thread to do a nandroid backup before launching the process.

But I definitely will try after back from my vacation, wouldn't risk to brick my device on a trip ;p
I finally found the problem...
I forgot that the custom ROM I'm using needs a sort of modded Gapps pack to be install via CWM.
I think here is the issue.
Worked fine for me. GSM GN on AOKP B25. Just make a backup in cwm before you do it. Worst case scenario: it boot loops, you pop the battery, boot into recovery and restore.

Hi, This is my first Thread on xda, so please be easy on me...
I found and tried this new Camera/Gallery for the Nexus 4 on the Epic4G
I can confirm that it's fully working with the latest CM10 Nightly Nov 1st.
The gallery feels and looks much faster and better than the older one
and the camera looks cooler and it's feels faster at taking pictures too.
Update: The new Photosynth shooting mode Doesn't work on our phone because it lacks gyroscope sensor [Thanks @nvertigo for pointing this out]
Flashable CWM
http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/1...gallery-app-with-new-ui-editing-photo-sphere/
if flashing didn't work, you might need then to do it manually as in this post
http://forums.androidcentral.com/ve...220830-jelly-bean-4-2-camera.html#post2279243
*You need at minimum ~12.2 MB of empty space before flashing of the actual system rom!
I Uninstalled the stock launcher and replaced it with another launcher from the market to solve this problem.
*To force the new Camera to work with hardware button, you might need to disable/freeze the older gallery after selecting the new Camera/Gallery as a default app.
So again here are the steps for the easy way to install the new camera:-
1- Install Third party Launcher of Your Choice
2- Uninstall the stock launcher (Trebuchet)
3- Flash the New Camera with CWM or TWRP (camera42_patched_v2 CWM Flashable.zip)
4- Open Gallery and click on the Camera icon, and then you will have a choice to select your default gallery/camera (select com.google. Gallery)
5- (Optional) To force the new Camera to become the default one, go to settings/apps/all and select Gallery with the version 1.1.40000 and disable it or delete it, don't disable the new gallery that has the version of 1.1.40001.
6- That's It, Well Done!.

I flashed this in CWM on my Epic 4G running AOKP (ICS 4.0.4) Milestone 6, stock kernel and it didn't seem to work. The stock camera app would load instead. Then I remembered to re-flash the ZIP and this time I did the 3x Wipe Cache and 3x Wipe Dalvik.
I rebooted and hooray, both the gallery and new camera are working without any FC's so far. Plus, I deleted the APK for the stock camera app and the new one loads up just fine with the hardware camera button.
You guys really should check out the "time lapse" video recording feature. It's pretty slick!
This didn't work for me until i updated to 11/01 nightly CM10. I managed to get the app running but it FCs when i try photosphere. Any advice?

youre probably missing the photosphere lib in system/lib
from not enough space in the /system partition
Thanks, that solved the problem.
It's not FCing anymore but I'm getting the error that a lot of people seem to be getting in the android police link. photosphere is extremely slow almost completely immobile after the first shot is taken, properly moving to the blue dot is impossible, and going left and right is impossible. is photosphere working perfectly for you guys?

According to reddit, this happens because our phones don't have a gyroscope. I guess this is a brick wall.

I had the same issue, but I got it to work by downloading both .zips, extracting both, then I deleted the live wallpapers and gallery2.apk in /system/app and copied over the files from the manual .zip to /system/lib then I copied the new gallery/camera from the flashable zip to /system/app, set permissions for all the files, rebooted and there it was.

I went a head to test the flashable camera again and wiped Data/Cache/Dalvik/System and flashed the latest nightly cm10 Nov 09 rom
The problem is Cm10 System partition is full, look at the first picture attached and you will notice Titanium backup reporting that system ROM has only 81.9 KB of Free space!. So if you tried to flash the new camera with CWM it will NOT be actually installed even though the cwm manager says the flashing was successful.
To solve this problem, you need to free 12.4 MB from your system partition. so if you install another launcher from the market like Go launcher or Lightning Launcher etc... and uninstall your stock launcher (Trebuchet) from your system rom you will have the required 12.4 mb for the new Camera flashing (like in the attached picture 2).
Gallery)
5- (Optional) To force the new Camera to become the default one, go to settings/apps/all and select Gallery with the version 1.1.40000 and disable it or delete it, don't disable the new camera that has the version of 1.1.40001.
6- That's It, Well Done!.
Does anyone have this? Can it be ripped?
You can't just rip the .apk and put it in, you'll need the corresponding libs.

The ROM, it's a CM feature after all, it'll only work with CM's Gallery2.apk I suppose.
Plenty of hdr apps, way easier..

Here's my 1st shot at it. Usual disclaimer applies, if this nukes your phone, you are on your own!
https://www.box.com/s/t05n84s17mv0qmj6pfke
I flashed this on JBSourcery, and i had an HDR option, as well as extended options from original camera. It looks like you lose photosphere tho. Which I use more of. I haven't booted CM 10.1 before so I don't know what it looks like.
Happy Flashing
I just tried CM 10.1 latest nightly's Gallery2.apk, I knew it won't work, but just in case I tried it!
result: "I don't remember... has stopped"
So it won't work!
Using CM's camera lib files will cause "boot loop".
Btw. because JB 4.2.2 CM10.1 is new CM devs have to fix HDR things on the camera so there is no sense to try port it to stock ROMs yet..
well, the zip i posted booted for me on JBSourcery 4.5.6. it has the gallery2.apk + camera libs. If it's not booting, then I will pull it down.

Not only apk and libs but the framework itself needs to be modded, because of powerbutton shutter, if you rom already supports it its a win, if not
it wont work... for example aospa wont work with it, unless someone kangs it into the rom
For those who prefer open source builds, rather than "Factory Images", here is a zip which is a stock, AOSP 4.3 build, straight from source. Why post this when anyone could make it? Well, it seems Google messed up their binary drivers, so it took me a little while to fix them, and fix the problems and get the ROM booting (they put the wrong mali GLES driver in their blob package).
Anyway, I have fixed that, and made it build successfully, so without futher ado, an AOSP (no google proprietary apps etc) build of 4.3 for the Nexus 10. The fixed vendor blobs are available at https://github.com/pulser/vendor_samsung_manta for anyone wanting to build themselves, and all can be verified, as they came from the "Factory Image" of 4.3 for the Nexus 10.
This is a pure AOSP build, there is no boot animation or any other "Google" things - just a plain, pure, AOSP build.
Enjoy, and this can be rooted using Chainfire's current 4.3 root method using SuperSU, which is detailed at https://plus.google.com/+Chainfire/posts/WqS2E9kkN1L
Feel free to use, share, re-use, distribute, copy, paste, mirror, ignore, root, tweak, patch or mod. I am not like certain individuals who go ZOMG NO MIRRORS PLEASE... Go on, mirror, make a torrent if you want, and share it if anyone actually cares about this
Tested:
Wi-Fi
Bluetooth
GPS
Auto rotation
Accelermeter
Magnetic Field Sensor
Brightness Sensor (and Autobrightness)
Barometer
Seemingly not working:
Proximity sensor (not detected, but apparently has one)

Nothing to worry about. I took the RIGHT driver from the factory image (stock image).
The AOSP release they made had wrong blobs, I rectified it with the correct files from the stock image.

How do we download the file/blob please?
Never downloaded anything from Github before...

Is this why the latest version supported for manta is 4.2.2r1 (according to this) while everything else is 4.3xx?
Explains why I can't get a flashable build.
This is why I stick to factory images.

It may well be, but the factory image is available.
But some of us don't want GApps, and don't want binary parts (save for the necessary evil of drivers), which is where AOSP builds come in.

Thanks. I like to build for myself but couldn't figure out why I couldn't flash successfully. Upon further investigation it appears that it is not supported (yet) in aosp. I'm running the factory images for now instead. However, this evening I'm going to flash this.
I just want to make sure. This wont wipe my internal hard drive. First time i flashed the new 4.2 i lost everything and cant backup anything as of now because i am outta town the whole summer.. Plz if anybody can confirm

I am not aware of anything to deliberately wipe /data, but I strongly suggest you don't flash this, unless you are willing to lose things? Why? because I didn't test every possible situation that could come up. I also didn't CHECK that /data remained...
So perhaps take the OTA (if you're on stock)? Or just hang off? It's nothing hugely special in my opinion.

It does, I flashed it.
Would still like to know how to get those missing blobs...

My data remained, but I would be concerned if you took a chance on my say so and something went wrong. I was ok but maybe you wouldn't be for some reason.

Which ones? The blobs are in the github link and came from the factory image. I'm not aware of any missing ones.

I don't know how to download them. Are they downloadable?
I suppose if I could understand the page I would know which ones to take from the factory image...noob, sorry.
Is it just "libRSDriverArm.so"?

Thanks pulser_g2 for adding the correct binary blobs! Glad I'm not completely insane like I thought I was, I too noticed that Google had forgotten to provide the correct graphics driver binaries so I tried building 4.3 with the 4.2.2 graphics binaries and it not surprisingly didn't boot past the Google logo. Glad we could get this fixed :good:.

Sure, that is the only "blob" I am aware I forgot. The N10 supposedly supports Bluetooth 4 (LE), but I have no idea how to test it, as I don't have any Bluetooth 4 LE devices. Can anyone test that? I will update the system.img today for you to make it easier It was only one blob I missed, and it only affects using front facing camera I believe.
