will a sprint ROM run on N7100? - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I like to try the MiBox ROM for Sprint SGN2. No ROM for N7100. But if I d/l the ROM , flash , then flash a XXDME4 modem with RIL , will the handset run ?
I hear the two devices are identical, just the model number changes for the carrier and that the carrier loads their particular modem - so replacing the modem should make it work ?
thanks

You are free to try it out for yourself , But i would highly doubt it would turn on and even if it does you may get a crap ton of FC's. Make sure you have a nandroid backup first if you want to try it out.

Installed fine
No fc's
No signal!
Flashed midem and RIL
No signal
Restoring....

Note2 XSE ROM not connecting to NW

Hello
My Note was purchased in Indonesia and I am using in Indonesia. It had worked very well with XSE ROM including updates.
the handset is N7100.
Later I had installed CM10.1, and other ROMs without any issues. Later when I install Stock ROM 4.1.2 from sammobile,
1. It doesn't connect to network - shows only emergency calls.
2. when I reinstall CM10.1 or BTU it works well
Is the issue of the Stock ROM I am downloading from sammobile / hotfile.com
or is there any other issue?
All I am looking is to revert to Stock with XSE CSC - any help is appreciated!
Thx
ramana

Yup! Thx for the pointer. here is what it says and my note 2 sinks in this truth!
--------------------------
1)All the custom ROMs based on ME6 or MF2 require the modems XXDME4 or DXDMF1. Or you won't get signal.
2)The kernel will modify the efs so that only XXDME4 and DXDMF1 modems can read it.
3)Once you boot up with the latest kernel, the efs will be modified, and you will need to stick to XXDME4 or DXDMF1 modems even after changing ROMs.
4)The modems XXDME4 and DXDMF1 are compatible with all the kernels (even 4.1.1)
5)Modems can't be changed if you are on a rom based on ME6/MF2

Urgent help needed flashing a ROM over DMF2 firmware?

Hi all,
My Note 2 LTE (N7105) Updated OTA from my carrier (EE UK) when I got it last week, and is now on the DMF2 build/baseband.
However, I've heard that flashing a ROM over this will make the IMEI disappear (correct me if I'm wrong), as per Dr.Ketan's thread here
I really want to install some ROMs like CleanROM Ace or Jedi x17 ROM, however I'm worried that I will ruin my device I just got the other day
Any idea on what my options are?
Thanks in advance!
U read that wrong buddy..it says MF2 and ME6 are latest modem and it modifies efs so that only newer modems(me6,mf2,mg1) can read the partition.
If u DOWNGRADE or flash older modems(before mf2,me6) it will result in imei loss
So u can flash any rom with latest modems..continue flashing:thumbup:

n900w8 Baseband Unknown

Just like the title says.
I have the n900w8 variant of the note 3 which works in canada and mexico. not sure about other countries. So I installed the hyperdrive rom that is for the n900t model.
It works awesome i had to flash some fixes now when i try to flash one of the s5 ports for the n900t or n9005 which both of them are compatible I get the unknown baseband and no imei issue. I hope someone in here can help me.
i have to mention that i made a nandroid backup and after the rom is flashed I flash the back up but only restoring Modem and Efs. still same issue.

There's a few guys that can (or rather willing to) do bling builds. But the problem with blind builds is, you cannot test them. Not too many dev's from Canada. Sorry. As I get time, i will work with Allen on W9008 buids if there's enough people to warrant the time and effort.

The only way you can solve the imei and baseband
issue is to Odin flash the original STOCK firmware.
After Odin flashing you can root the phone
and flash a custom recovery if you like.
You can also flash a custom rom which was
created for your specific phone's model.
Then just be careful of what you flash in
the future.
You can find the original STOCK ODIN (TAR) firmware
at http://sammobile.com
Good luck!
working now

Hi there,
Mind helping me? I ended up having unknown Baseband and IMEI null during lollipop upgrade. I tried flashing back to original stock rom both kitkat and lollipop but I still got same issues. I ended up rooting the phone and currently running twrp. I'm just at lost right now on what else to do. I'm thinking of putting custom ROM but I"m not sure with one will work. I have SM-N900W8 Canadian version.

Kit Kat Touchwiz ROM ?

Hello,
Is there any kit kat touchwiz ROM available which is somewhat stable? I would like to be able to use tap n pay. I have a Verizon NOte 2 with such a ROM and it works great. I am upset that it is so hard to find a ROM for the tmobile phone.
I guess Tmobile never released kitkat for this phone?
Lol .. :sly:
Use S.W.A.R.M (Stock) or Test Rom 1.2 (it has some S5 apps - does not have wifi calling) follow all instructions for installing.
Sorry SWARM isnt KitKat. Rom of Thrones is - which is the base for my Test Rom 1.2 - Good Luck.

Thanks,
I did try test ROm and my wifi wasn't working. I now know that its because I needed to update my baseband .. Which I have now done. SO ill give one of those a try.
I also understand that we can load AT&T roms on this phone as long as we are using the T889 Radio,,, so I am looking at those roms as well

Yes. You can also try AGNi Kernel if Wifi still isnt working. From my experience 4.3.0 is the best so far.

I had to flash the wifi fix. Im not sure if flashing a kernel would have fixed my wifi problem. As I understand; the issue is that my phone has the original bootloader that it was shipped with. it doesnt have the 4.3 OTA bootloader therfore I had to install this wifi fix.
SO now I have a Tmobile T889 running an ATT touchwiz rom... I have working LTE(LTE worked with Tmobile roms too). To get the LTE to work I had t flash the latest tmobile radio. My Google wallet tap n pay works again. I am extremely happy about this setup!
Oh... and I am using AT&T go as the service... not Tmobile

Yes flashing a kernel would have fixed the wifi. Flashing the patch wouldve probably made things worse to be honest..now the only way to revert the patch is to odin back to the original firmware...
Im on 4.1.2 Bootloader myself. Havent upgraded to anything above that..i only flash kernels and the modems. Works fine for me. Only issue is the charging while phone is off doesnt work.
Which Rom did you use?
