OK I don't know what I did but now I don't know what to do. I have a galaxy s3 thru att. I noticed these pop ups from SuperSU for access. I didn't even know what SuperSU was so I never checked accept or deny. I don't know how it got there and I don't really want it. I downloaded Root Checker Basic to verify root access. I get the message "this device does not have proper root access". I don't know if that is good or bad? Now I am afraid to uninstall SuperSU without screwing up my phone. Application settings to uninstall only gives me the option to uninstall updates. How do I uninstall SuperSU? As you can tell, I am a real novice to all this but any help would be greatly appreciated!

SuperSu is the program that issues root access to the apps on your phone that request it. If you want to be rooted you will need either that app or Superuser. They really act as a safeguard to stop any random app from taking control of root without asking you. If you were to open the SuperSu app you will see the apps that have tried to gain root access and I'm betting you will find 'root checker basic' has asked for permission, but has not had it granted. This is why it is reporting a problem with root. You do want this application and you do want to grant access to apps that you have installed and will trust. To lose this app is essentially to lose root. Up to you if you keep it.

Hi,
So for the past 2 month, I've been trying to root my r800at, but it installs superusers but it doesn't function. I can't remove the semi root, but I need to get a root. I've tried the superuser fixer, but it says everything is normal. The Root Checker app says no root and so does ROM Manager, which in this case is a dire app.
PLS HELP!
Did you really need to make another thread about this? In the wrong section?
I AM having troubles with my root.FIRST installed root keepper but it says 4.3 not supported and does not show a button to back up my root. Also it shows deviced rooted without a check mark, root permissions granted has check mark,/system supports root protection check mark, protected su copy available no check mark. Also tried the other root backup keeper with the same results.EVERY TIME I GO INTO RECOVERY IT TELLS ME I HAVE TO FIX ROOT I HIT THE FIX ROOT THING.REBOOT AND HAVE ROOT BUT NOW OF THE ROOT KEEPER PROGRAMS ARE WORKING.Any suggestions would be greatly apprecciated,Cause i am already tired of having to fix my root everytime i go into recovery. This is also happening on my sprint htc one after i ota 4.3.
Use chain fire auto root. Make sure to grab the right file. Ends with 900t or something. There are a couple of threads with all phones supported and their corresponding file.

Hello everyone, first time poster. In need of dire help.
So I got an unlocked phone.
Tried to use the method on the galaxynote2 website ( you can find it if you google "galaxynote2root easiest method" )
However Now SuperSU is telling me "there is no SU binary installed, and SUPERSU cannot install it. There is a problem!"
I tried updating SuperSU and downloading a putting in manually a newer version.
I have no idea what's going on in my phone since root checker is telling me I don't have root.
What do I do?
Hell, the only reason I rooted it is to unroot it because the previous root made my phone act strange.
I really would like to give this phone in for warranty.

Also it's not like I used any ol' root. This individual has a huge youtube channel dedicated to the note.
Also I forgot to mention that when I finished rooting, knox did say it did allow some sort of permissions with super su or something along those lines.
Hi peeps, looked at rooting my nice new G3 and went in for the kill with towel root [emoji16] only to find out didn't support my version. Decided to go with purpledrake (not got there yet) found a couple of apps not working because of root which root checker says I don't have. My question is do I need to root now regardless even if only to unroot? To get things back to normal?

After rooting, did you install SuperSU?
Also, there's StumpRoot as a 3rd option.
That's just it. Towel root told me my phone wasn't supported and root checker says I don't have root, yet the app in question says I do so super user seems a bit pointless.

SuperSU is needed after you root to give apps root access. Try to install it, if it works, you're rooted and you can go along with your rooted apps.
Otherwise, try StumpRoot (Towel and Purple's didn't support my version either), install SuperSU and enjoy your root apps!
Tried to install it with no luck. Seems something's gone wrong somewhere.
Says I need to manually 're root of I just upgraded to android 4.3. As it can't install su binaries.

Time to give StumpRoot a shot then.
Yeah I think your right. The only issue left is the app I want to use fails when rooted and the root cloak module/app doesn't currently support it [emoji20]
Edit:
Well i tried stump root and got nowhere [emoji20] looking like purple is my only way forward. And if i want to use that particular app then root, unroot is the only way forward. [emoji45]
I recently rooted my 6.0.1 S6 Edge with CF-Auto-Root, but when I try to use an app that requires root it doesn't function. Which is weird because SuperSU ask me to grant permission and I do but when it comes to the app actually working it just doesn't. Does anybody know whats wrong?
Forgot to mention that root checker says I rooted successfully.
If SuperSU asks for permission and root checker shows that root is properly installed, there should have been no problems. What apps were you using that did not work?

Apps like hiromacro, busy box, and others. They ask for SuperSU permission, I grant it. But when it comes down to it actually functioning it doesn't. For example hot keys for apps that require root don't work. Idk could it be that installed the 6.0.1 update through OTA?
