I have got this case a while ago, I finally realized that the flash is not usable with this case..
So, does anyone know of a fix, such as a DIY remedy or anything else? Did UAG finally acknowledged this issue?
Many thanks for any idea on how to get the flash working again with this case, that otherwise I really like.

You have two options:
1/ Fix the case using this

I was thinking more about the first option , though I'd rather see someone else's results on this, if any.. It's just that I am not too handy with this kinda tools..

Contact them and tell them about it hopefully they're able to help you in some way maybe by just sending you a black one or who knows

Thanks for your inputs, I am quite happy with the case and the color is ok too. I am rarely using the flash so no real big issue either. It's just for those rare occasions where nothing can save a photo save for flash light..
I know that a few xda members complained about this issue but haven't found any answer. Yet. I was hoping someone already plunged the cutter in the tiny flash hole and cared to explain how it worked..
Regardless, I might try it myself, in case I am going to ruin it, does the black UAG manifest the same issue?

I experimented away with coloring the inner flash area of the case black with a perm marker but unfortunately didn't help. The flash pictures are even worse I think.
Here's a sample pic after black marker
It might have to do with the quality of the color such as glossines?
Anyways, maybe more important than that, I tried to wipe away the marker with some nail polish remover: the substance acted very destructively on the case, it kinda melted it away where applied.
Hope it helps others..

The only case they have for our phone is basically what I wanted. Won't replace my BodyGlove Silver Fade Shell full time but will be good to have when I know I don't need the kickstand.
Can't beat 12 bucks.
The only issue I had with the barely there cases is the scratches they put on the chrome part of the phone, I had that issue on my previous HTC Evo. So, I don't know if this case will suffer the same issue, but please let us know.
sold out already.
I missed this deal =[

doesn't fit?? dang.
Btw, this looks like the Diztronic on amazon, which I love. look into that. About $9.
So I was looking at the case pictured on their site and what I received and it's definitely not the same. Possible they just sent me, in particular, the wrong one. Will let you know.
I have one coming, I expect it to be a wrong case also ;(
edit: just received an email from casemate.

Oh Case-mate.
My question is a relatively simple one... I sent away my desire hd to this company
http://www.htcphonerepairs.co.uk/HTC-Desire-HD/Housing-Replacement-Desire-HD.html
... to have the housing replaced, to make it look like new again. It arrived back in the post today, however there were several what looked like screwdriver scoring marks around the flash cover (see pics below) - that as well as the lense was loose and caused the phone to rattle!
Obviously I sent it back to the company under warranty immediately and they agreed to resolve.
My question is this... is it difficult to fit a new housing to the DHD without leaving marks? Also should a replacement housing cause the lense to be loose or was it just bad fitting by the repair company? Has anyone else had their housing replaced mark free?

not sure if it is that easy to do it yourself but hey, someone is selling it on eBay
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ORIGINAL...AU_MobilePhoneAccessories&hash=item3cc296c7de
2 things...they were not careful putting on that cover...or worse...used the old one again, maybe by mistake. the reason I say that is it looks like pry marks from trying to get it off. not that hard to put on all new case etc. that particular cover is tricky but with care should go on no problem.
I spoke to the company earlier this morning and they were very apologetic... should have the phone back again hopefully tomorrow morning... will update then.

There is plenty of youtube videos that explain how to do it. I don't like their work, if you watch the videos you can see that flash housing can be removed pushing from the inside and not externally with screwdriver.
My english is terrible...just watch this

Good to hear, thanks for that... will see what happens when my phone gets back for the second time.
The plot thickens - received an email from the company earlier this morning, asking me to call them re the work on my phone.
They informed me that most if not all "replacement housings" from the manufacturer, come with some minor blemishes and or marks (this was after a 10 min rant on my behalf about this being bulls*it)
Can anyone confirm this to be the case? They even said that replacement housings for sale on ebay are probably gonna have some minor marks on them already...
This is mostly true at least the part aboot ebay but if they're coming from the manufacturer they should be in new condition.
When I bought one on ebay it was described as having minor marks but it arrived to me in new condition.

This is BS, blemishes from the manufacturer? Are you serious? When you first bought your phone did they have any blemishes? OEM parts from the manufacturer are spotless or they never get used by HTC manufacturing! I'd ask for your money back, buy your own housing from Ebay and do it yourself.
Found this on ebay

Ooops forgot to update this thread! My phone arrived back for the second time, and although much better than the first attempt, the housing still had minor marks both front and back... NEVER using this company again OR recommending them either... they never even apologised the 1st time around, and never got a refund for my duplicated posting costs!
Im a perfectionist when it comes to my phones, and decided to flog it on ebay... have now purchased a brand new one... should be here in a couple of days
My S3 screen has been cracked for a while and I think it's time I replace it.
Samsung charges like $200 something to get it fixed even though everything works perfectly.
Can anyone here recommend a company that will replace it? Are these services reliable?
DeviceJack on eBay looks promising but wondering if there were any others people thought were good.
Does the display and touch screen still work? Just the glass is cracked?
If they don't work, its a very easy thing to replace yourself. There are plenty of vids online that can help.
You can get the LCD/digitizer assembly (already attached to a new housing) for roughly $100, sometimes a good bit less. Then all you have to do is move your motherboard and components from the broken one which is very easy to do.
You could also buy a used device which has at least a good screen then all you'd probably have to do is swap in your motherboard and that's it. These are often cheaper than the assembly I mentioned.
S3 replacement glass
go to ebay.com you'll find replacement glass as low as $5 :good:

Replacing just the glass is extremely hard and tedious as the super AMOLED screen is glued to the glass, and to peel the touchh part off the frame is rough also, i tried it with a broken screen, i would recommend as doc has, its 5-6 screws to remove the back cover, 1 screw to take the -+board off, and 4 plugs maybe 5, it would take about 10-20 minutes total.
If its just cracked glass, but everything is still functioning, you should read the thread about replacing it in the General section, then make the call yourself if its something you want to try. It may not be the easiest thing to do, but it can save you a ton of money. Ive done it myself with pretty good results. Saved about $75-100 by doing so.

Everything still indeed is functioning so it's just cracked glass
I don't have a temperature gun to do it and dont trust myself honestly lol
Do these EBay services basically provide the same thing? Found one for ~$40 I forget
Not all will be the same. Id ask to be sure what methid they use. $40 is probably as good as it gets, but check up on thr seller first. Most charge more than this so it does make ne wonder how trustworthy they might be.
As for the DIY method, a thermometer would be nice, but most people, including myself, dont have or need one. In the end it boils down to how comfortable youd be though. Nothing wrong with getting it serviced by a shop.
Oh, and make sure they guarantee their work. Also write down your serial number, IMEI, etc, and reverify it all when you get it back.

Woah woah.
Thanks for posting. Was about to do it from devicejack.
Most cities have a number of shops that will perform that service. No shipping costs, no waiting for shipping somewhere and back again, plus if dealing face to face they are less likely to be shady in their business practices.

updated the OP with the reply from REARTH. Their response was on my youtube channel but it contained information that anyone who has a non-fitting case could follow to get the situation corrected.
P.S. The correction is get a smoke one now or wait and get a clear one once the issue is resolved. Perfectly acceptable response IMHO and i personally opted to wait for the clear because i intend on buying the bamboo swapstyle cover!!!

Awesome Customer Service! I also ordered the clear version because I'm getting the bamboo back cover when it comes out. haven't received mines yet but now i know to expect it to have that issue. they didnt give a timeframe of when to contact them again to get another replacement once they fix that issue?
It's hacky, but it works. Let me know if you guys want a write-up.

Sweet Mercy that looks painful!
Nice hack though, I'm always on the lookout for interesting hardware mods!
Question though, mine has started cracking too... anything other than aesthetics affected by it? Heart rate monitor or dust ingress? It would be good to know what to expect if my crack starts expanding... maybe I should dremel it preemptively?
Eek, how did you break it like that?!

call motorola and get a free replacement. No reason to have a cracked back! You even get a free charging cradle out of the whole thing (and I think the replacements are stronger because I haven't had an issue since I got it swapped)

I'm in that situation where I bought it from someone who bought it in the US, and I find myself in Canada... And Motorola isn't capable of shipping me a replacement, unless I give them a US based address... Seems like too much of a hassle really, everything else is fine, and it had this tiny crack when I bought it (the guy had small wrists, much smaller than mine). I check it every night before I put it on the charger, hasn't expanded at all.
Given some horror stories I've read online of DOA units, dead pixels that aren't covered by warranty and other things, I'd rather stick with my perfectly functional one . Worst case, I'll just dremel the edges to reduce strain.
Thanks for the advice though! :good:

I'm sorry, but to be honest... It looks like ****...
Im sorry but i stall cant stop laughing
The cracks happen when using wrong bands. The metal bands push against the glass back and they crack the glass. Normally the back won't crack when using the genuine strap. I had the pebble steel on the moto360 and saw the glass started damaging so I removed it. If I had it still on then it would have cracked almost certainly
There sure are! At Southern Straps we have NATOs for the MOTO 360
Check us out when you get the chance. Out straps come with a Lifetime Warranty and our founder came from the Android Wear project.
Our bands fit Apple, Pebble and all Android Wear watches!
