Picking out the perfect GN

Hey all going to th Verizon store to exchange my GN because of a defective screen. In efforts to not have to exchange again is there any tips or advice in getting/picking out a error defective free GN.

There is not one phone on earth that will be perfect. Get the nexus,quit looking for stuff to complain about and enjoy while it's the best phone out.

What do you mean? Its not a car lot or something where you can see all of the available ones. If you bring in a phone for exchange, they reach under the counter (or in the back) and take out a random box from the stack of Galaxy Nexus' to replace it with. Their assumption is that the phone they give you as a replacement is in good working order, so you can't just look it over and be like "no I want another one". They won't bring out 10 boxes and let you open them all and choose the one you want.
They give you that one and you deal with it. If it is exposed later on that something is defective and warrants another return, you can return this new one at that point, and you'll go through the process again.

Try and find one with the highest serial number or something on the box?

The place where I bought mine online (Europe) told me they checked and they all had defects on the screen and I could either live with it or send it back for a refund... nice...

One other thing you could try is asking the Customer Rep at Verizon or wherever your going to purchase it from, to let you know when the next batch comes in and grab one of them... That way you know your going to get a new-new one? just a thought.

Now where to buy galaxy nexus?

Nexus S washed by my wife. Battery is dead, phone works but wifi and bluetooth are not functioning. Was trying to get Galaxy Nexus on google play to ship to friend in US and then ship to Canada. But just found out it is banned by a fashion fruit company. The carriers are selling it for 499+ 13% tax up there, any place I can get it for a reasonable price?

xda marketplace ....few people r selling used..but like new 10/10 condition with accessories.... check it out....

Your local craigslist. The black Market... right next to the guy that sells kidneys

hello Guys, does anyone know where to buy a Brand New Galaxy Nexus? I cant use Play store as I dont have a US issued credit card. so i am looking for a good online retailer with a good price comparable to Play store. Amazon is having it for 440$ that's 90$ more :s

Hey guys! So I've had my eye on the Verizon GNex for a while now but my parents are unwilling to give up their upgrade so I can get it... Ebay is an option but also pricey for a used one ya know... Does anybody have any ideas where else i can look? besides craigslist

Those are really your only options. I doubt you will find them online for cheaper.... Maybe amazon?

What's wrong with clist? Just make sure you meet at a Verizon store and you have the ESN checked. Make a test call, check that it powers off / on quickly. Fast GPS lock, etc etc.

Look in the XDA Market Place or Swappa.

Amazon has the device for $650. I doubt you'll find a much better price on a new device.

That can't be right. A new one on eBay is $475-$350 and a brand new unlocked GSM version is only $350. I've seen some good Verizon ones on Clist and that'd probably be your best bet.

i checked out the marketplace and couldnt find the vzw one, am i just dumb and couldnt see it? lol
im checking swappa now, and ebay is good up until a few hours before the auction ends... then it jumps from reasonable to NUTS

I'm not looking to spend over $300 for this.. i really doubt i can find anything for cheaper lol so thank you for giving me some ideas.. ill still look back here to see if anybody posts so if you find a deal let me know!

Unfortunately, Verizon's business model is a dying, failing breed. They overprice the phones so they can sell them at a subsidized price to make it seem like you are getting a good sale. You are paying easily double for a phone that is worth half that price (look at the price on the Play Store). I would recommend Craig's List, or maybe keep a close eye on eBay, but you aren't going to be able to find an LTE Nexus for anywhere near $300.
Either convince your parents, or save up!

Help Deciding

Yesterday I my Xperia fell and broke and there is no way to repair it which has left me with the option to buy a new one. I would like to buy that is new but less than $200. Would like some help in giving advice. I don't buy from eBay.

If you don't mind getting the Verizon version then go on craigslist. They have them for 100 dollars. But if your interested in custom Roms the r800x is not the way to go. There's also another website someone posted that sold them for 70 with a special code but I forgot what it was called because it had a weird name

You can get the Verizon version brand new on CowBoom for around $70-100 (price fluctuates). Otherwise, it's going to be hard to find new GSM one for less than $250 or so.

So I don't think I want New as long it in new conditions and comes with ALL the accessories because Ive seen sellers on Amazon who only give buyers the Phone with battery + the charger and but no SDCard and there NEW. My first one didn't come with SDcard which I know all R800x and R800at or a or i should have one. I want R800x for now since I am on CricKet but want to change to AT&T although that won't happen. All I want is to put JB Themes and Root no ROM since a lot of those seem to not work properly.

Well then you can just get them from cowboom and you can keep it on 2.3.3 rom and just flash attacks jellybean theme for r800x and use holo launcher

I've bought a few things from CowBoom. It's been a mixed bag on used items- but their support's been decent, and returns really have been hassle-free. Buying new stuff has always been decent, though.
CowBoom is owned by BestBuy- it's where all of their tradeins and new stock they can't move goes to die. :laugh:

Hey, I found a deal for the R800x thats for $150. New and all accessories but no original sdcard. Do you guys think this is good deal? Just one question: Does the 7 preloaded games are inside the 2GB original card? Just asking because the 7 games are the 16th reason why I want that phone. I mean 7 free games! That's a sweet deal for a phone that has a gamepad.

A) The included card is 8gb, class 2
B) The highest I've seen them on the site I've mentioned is $110 shipped, brand new, unopened. Why would you want to buy one that's been messed with for more?

The games aren't on the SD card they're on internal memory you just have to download the extra data to SD card

It includes a extra hard case with belt clip and a screen protector. Where did you see the $110 offer? Thanks for the feedback. I want to get the best cheap offer but I only found one on Swappa. Its not eBay, right?

i'm not from US so i'm having a hard time trying to connect to this sites that is why I asked for your help .

I assumed as much but if you're on Xda you can use a browser to get to either of those sites. I don't know where you actually are and Long Island is the largest island in the US. Therefore it's a little hard to help

My aunt will probably get it on Queens .
I cant enter all sites, some are blocked to israel ..

She can also go online and, if not in stock locally, have them ship it to her nearest store for pickup. (all 3 stores mentioned can do that)

Yes. If you go to this link for Best Buy you can click on check stores, and enter city & state, or zip code and see stores with it in stock. You should call store ahead because sometimes stock on website is mistaken. If in store and in stock you can buy on line and ask for in store pickup at your store, too.
