The last couple days, I've had no phone reception (Verizon LTE Galaxy Nexus). Data still works (although it may be a bit spottier, but I'm not sure), but no voice calls will go through or be received. The reception status in the taskbar will show either an empty triangle (when there's no data) or a gray triangle with 3G/4G (when data is connected). There may be one or two gray bars occasionally for a couple seconds, but a call won't go through.
I'm using the most recent JDX ROM, though I've tried rolling forward and back versions. I've tried a couple different sets of radios as well, all to no avail. The battery will drain very quickly as, I believe, the phone searches for a signal. Friends on my plan have full reception from Verizon standing next to me.
The only other odd thing that's happened recently is a week ago I got a message that there was no SIM card connected and that I needed to put in my SIM card back in and reboot. I took the card out, put it back in, and haven't gotten the message again since. Not sure if that's related.
Any thoughts? Thank you!

Hi all,
I got my Desire from the British carrier "Three" last April when it came out. It was stocked with Android 2.1 but the phone was unbranded and not locked so making life much easier.
I rooted the phone weeks later and flashed a number of various roms and radios (usually newest ones recommended by rom developers) and just played around with them. No problems ever occured and everything went smooth.
However a while ago (about 4 weeks I would say) strange thing happened: when the carrier 3 does not gave 3G coverage it usually switches to other network's 2G roaming service. It is also possible to switch to 2G permanently by forcing it via phone settings. It stopped working in Central London for me while still worked elsewhere (very strange) so I had to rely only on 3G service. I thought it was a network issue at first but now I'm not sure.
Later (or at least so I noticed) the connectivity started fooling around: even when standstill (i.e. NOT in a train, bus etc.) and staying at home the network connectivity just disappears all of a sudden. Sometimes it comes back by itself and sometimes I just do it manually via netowking settings. This is much more common when on the move (i.e. on the train etc. even though it never used to happen before). Moreover, sometimes while manually searching for network it says "your sim would not allow to connect to this network" even though I try to connect to the correct one. Instead I switch "WCDMA only" and "WCDMA/GSM auto" options and connection comes back by itself. Then it disappears again after a while. Even more strangely, connection does not disappear if I am talking on the phone with someone but in other situations (such as browsing internet) it just disappears and I see no bars in network reception indicator and cannot connect to internet or make phone calls.
I know 3 has a reputation (deserved or not) of having "bad" network but I don't think this has anything to do with that. My Desire used to work fine before and never had such problems (except in specific spots which have bad coverage). Moreover, I have another old phone and it works fine without any problems with networking while the Desire messes around. I am sure it has either to do with firmware or, worse, hardware.
I have tried a number of roms, radios and settings and it's the same thing all over.
If nothing works is there a way I can still bring it to warranty service after flashing "unrooted" stock rom if there is one available? I'm so frustrated because I have no idea why this is happening.
Its because three have switched off 2g roaming I have the same problem. Search Google

Hi I have a GSM Galaxy Nexus and today I simply stopped receiving signal on it. I don't know how or why. I didn't flash anything or even use my phone at all. At one point it was working fine, then I noticed that where my signal bars should be, I have nothing but greyed out bars and an "X" on top of that. This was hours ago. I called T-Mobile(I use T-Mobile Prepay) and they had me do several things like remove battery and sim, and nothing helped. I have a custom ROM(Black Bean). I have used this ROM for weeks with no issue. Just to make sure I did a nandroid and I restored my old Stock-Rooted ROM. Still no signal. I then did a full wipe did a full wipe and installed Black Bean 3.1.2(older version which I know for a fact works fine) on a clean install. Still there is no signal. If I try to make a call, it tells me to turn off Airplane mode before making a call. But I am 100% that Airplane mode isn't on. I can go and turn it on, then back off even. Still I have no signal. I have no way of knowing if this is my phone or T-Mobile having tower problems. I called but they don't know anything since it was the pre-pay support line call center in India.
I have been generally disappointed with T-mobiles service. I would gladly give up the rest of my current month and re-subscribe to Straight Talk with ATTs Towers right now, but I'd have to get service going with them again and that would cost 45 bucks. And it's a waste if there is something wrong with my phone. So now I don't know what to do! =/
Edit: Quick update, I put in my Straight Talk SIM thinking that even if it were out of minutes, it would at least let me connect to the towers so that I can add more. Still nothing. If I hold down power(under stock) it brings up the power screen and that tells me that Airplane Mode is on even though I have it off in settings. If i click on that message, it says "Airplane Mode is OFF" but it isn't really, because if I go out and back in again, it's back to saying that it's on. However, I do have it turned off in my settings. I will also mention that WIFI does work.
Check if you activated the 2G option under Mobile settings. I had a similar issue a few weeks back. Almost drove me mad.

Sounds like your phone is the problem if there's discrepancies about whether airplane mode is on.
My wife is having issues with her data connection on her phone-
The phone aspect of the Captivate Glide works fine, but there are times where she is trying to us data (to check emails..etc..) and phone states she does not have a data connection. Also, her 4g icon disappears from the screen. Only solution (which she completely hates) is restarting the phone. Have had several android phones, but this is a first for me-
Currently running OsiMood.0122.RUXKJ5 Android 2.3.5
different ROM, same issue
so i updated my wife's phone to thegreatergood's literom (version .6), and I'm still having issues with the phone sporadically losing it's data connection. my wife is still able to make phone calls, however, all texting and data remains off. I have to restart the phone in order to restore data/text...any ideas?

I have seen this as well once or twice in the past as well. I am also on the greater good's literom 6 and liteKernel v4. Rebooting does fix it. Not sure what is causing it as well. I think it happened when I had low reception then all of sudden no reception all together. Wonder if you have no reception for too long can trigger this? Rebooted and wen back to having low reception but at least some. My work has a lot of interference so I rarely get good reception at my desk, often I see the E sign for edge network and when I see that I know it is going to be Dog slow.
I'm hoping someone has seen this and knows the solution.
I have a Pixel 3XL, bought Nov.`18. Unit has a case, never dropped outside, it's in immaculate condition.
A few weeks ago, I noticed the LTE Connection would restart every 8 to 12 seconds (going from LTE - LTE+, back to LTE)
I did a ton of things (restarted device, safe mode, Factory Reset with stock setup (no backup) and even did a Factory Image restore of Android 10 from September)
Nothing has resolved this issue. The case has been removed, a different SIM Card was purchased.
Even when changing the connection to 3G, it changes from HSPA - to 3G every 10-15 seconds. I've disabled VoLTE and even used the phone after factory image restore, with a new google account (to make sure no settings were copied over from previous install). Checked APN settings, all good there. I've had every PIXEL phone on my carrier (Rogers, in Toronto) without any issues like this.
At this point, I am thinking hardware.,
Does anyone have any insight into why this would just start randomly in November?
Code:

Mine and now my pixel 4 have a similar issue. But it seems to randomly drop to 3G and get stuck until I put it in airplane mode and take it out...

Take a SIM Card from a different Carrier, see what happens. That will show if its Hardware, if it keeps happening.
Mine had the LTE connection reset every 10 seconds no matter what SIM Card I used from different carriers.
I got a replacement Pixel3XL today, and the new unit is working perfectly - so it was hardware 100% on my end.
When I woke up today, I saw that my phone was on No Service and it wasn't just flipping between full bars and no service for a second like it too often does (including dropping calls a couple of times). I tried to fix it by turning Airplane Mode on and back off, but it did nothing. I went to try to manually choose a tower to connect to mostly to see if the T-mobile tower near me was working or not, and there instead of a tower name it said "Emergency Calls Only". It did let me pick from the list and a disappearing pop-up said it connected, but it never changed to signal and stayed on Emergency Calls Only. So, I restarted my phone. Once it was back on, I had signal, but strangely I also got a Gmail notification about an e-mail that had arrived an hour prior, so I guess even my WiFi wasn't working! Bluetooth did connect fine to my Apollo Neuro anti-anxiety device, but the app was messed up showing it at 100% strength on two different settings instead of the strength they were saved at (and were sent to the device at), which was weird. Everything was fixed after the phone restart.
Anyone else had this happen? The signal issues on this phone are really starting to annoy me! Flipping to no service for a second too often, not connecting manually to any other tower (my plan includes unlimited roaming for talk and data) [I'm not sure if auto roaming works since I haven't been where it would be needed], dropping a couple of calls, not sending texts at times, Chat texting dots turning off often (usually fixed by going into Airplane Mode and back), and now this! I love the phone, but they need to fix it whether it is Samsung or T-mobile!
i thought i was the only one. suddenly no service to any calls but data intact. only way to fix is by cycle flight mode.

That sucks. They really need to fix this basic function of this phone!
I've had that issue when getting in areas where coverage is spotty, but never been able to see it go into Roaming..........just "emergency calls only".

It seems that is the issue, that the phone won't roam. That is a mega problem.
My phone was just sitting on the wireless charger all night, and I get full bars (occasionally minus one) here at home, so .
