If you had any experience, i would laugh the crap outta me xD
But you download it as a zip right? Don't and really don't extract it, place it on you sdcard. Do all the wipes, and then flash the zip.
If you have a nandroid backup, restore the backup first to get in the system and copy the zip to the sdcard.
But if you haven't, you can do this:
Go in recovery --> mounts amd storage --> you need to see "unmount /system" and "unmount /sdcard/" (if you see "mount" instead of "unmount", scroll to it and push power button once. Then connect to pc. Install fastboot (which you needed to root your phone), then place the zip folder in the same directory as the fastboot drivers. Then open cmd (i recommend you to do Shift+Right Click in the folder, then select "Run command prompt". You don't need to cd then xD) and first do this for a little check: adb devices. When it shows your device (number + recovery), type this: adb push ROMNAME.zip /sdcard/ROMNAME.zip (replace ROMNAME.zip with the exact name of the zip, i recommend to give the zip an easy name). Then wait for it to complete, and flash it!
When you don't have a nandroid backup and not enough space free on sd, you can do it in a micro-sd reader. If you don't have one, buy one. If you don't want to, you're f*ucked.
Hope this helped

Help me recover HTC One X

I've searched for 3 hours and nothing helped so:
I have an international HTC One X Unlocked on HTCDev with S-ON :
ENDEAVORU PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-0.95.000
CID: HTC__032
MID: PJ4610000
I have installed ClockworkMod 5.8.4.0 and made a backup recovery 2 days ago from it before doing anything else.
and accidentally today i did these commands:
Wipe battery stats
Wipe Dalvik cache
wipe data/factory reset
and
format /cache
format /data
format /sdcard
format /system
Of course... after rebooting... NO MORE OS BOOT UP , it gets stuck at HTC Brilliant screen and stays forever.
First thing I did was to try to flash RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_HTC_Europe_1.29.401.11_Radio_1.1204.105.14_release_260491_signed.exe
didn't work! it says UNKNOWN ERROR (i think not the os it wants)
then i copied all the backup folders from my computer (the backup that i've made 2 days ago) on the sdcard partition which i can accesss from clockworkmod by mounting usb (and of course it was totally empty)
didn't wirk either.
How cand i put back my OS while I still have access to sdcard, bootloader and clockwork mod.
Please help me, I'm a dummy!

if you know what you are doing with explorer then you just need to drop the folder 2012-07-26.05.13.13 in /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/
then restore your backup in recovery
i assume if you have done "format /sdcard and /system" then wondering why your phone wont boot, you are a dummy so i will write a dummy guide for you
yeah, formatting /system is why it wont boot anymore
here are the things you need to do to get booting again
reboot into recovery
click on "mounts and storage"
click on "mount USB storage" at bottom
plug your phone into PC via USB cable
open up computer (assuming Windows) and open up your now blank /SDCARD
make a folder called "clockworkmod" (without quotes)
open this folder then make another one inside it called "backup"
copy your 2012-07-26.05.13.13 folder from your PC to the "backup" folder
click on "Unmount" on your phone
click on "+++++Go Back+++++"
click on "backup and restore"
click on "restore"
click on "2012-07-26.05.13.13"
click on "Yes - Restore"
once complete you should be fine and dandy again
I don't know what did you erase but inside zip you have boot.img which if you deleted somehow boot.img you can flash through adb shell. Don't ask me I don't know correct command line, but you can extract it and flash itbthrough phone. I will look for exact path for recovery zip file because i have root and nandroid back up and in next post I will give you my path.

Ok, so I know I take first prize for noob/dummy of the year but I'm really hoping someone cane help.
I recently rooted my one x and tried to install Android Revolution custom rom. Got stuck in a bootloop. Managed to then flash Cyanogenmod 9 (trip's version) however had issues with bluetooth not working and random reboots. Thought i'd give Android revolution a go again but got stuck in bootloop.....again!!! So...in all my (lack of) infinite wisdom, I booted into recovery and proceeded to format everything thinking I could just drop Leedroid's rom onto the sd card and flash it from recovery.
Whilst I thought this would work, I now have no access to the sd card. I tried mounting usb mass storage and the sdcard in recovery so I could just drag and drop it frrom windows but got the following error "E: Unable to open ums lunfile (No such file or di
So, after reading through some other threads, I discovered that you could just push the zip file using adb, however, when trying this I get the error: device not found.
When launching fastboot I get
SD Checking
Failed to open usb Master mode
Failed to open usb Master mode
loading HTCUpdatezipName image
Failed to open usb Master mode
Please plug off USB
Hope someone out there can help.

Do you have the latst Recovery? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1594819
If not, update to latest recovery and try to mount USB storage again.
Also you can try to use adb while you have the phone in recovery mode, not fastboot or hboot.
And, did you remember to flash the boot.img from fast boot after reflasnig the ROM? if not, that that is causing the bootloops.

wow, thankyou so much.
That was a relatively easy solution and got be back in the game baby!!!
BTW I gotta say, I was pretty happy with my one x before but now... I think i'm in love.
Sorry if this is off topic but was unsure where else to post. Had issues with random rebooting after certain apps launched so scrapped leedroid and tried out modaco. All seemed fine but then I was getting a reboot every time I tried to access (play, set as a ring tone or even just play) mp3's so I did a full wipe reflash of Leedroid and the same thing happens, full reboot when tying to do anything with MP3s
please help

Here is an alternative way without ruu
1-Mount usb in recovery
2-Copy this rom to sdcard
3-Factory reset
4-Flash rom
4-Start ruu and grab the rom.zip (you can find guides at xda for grabbing rom.zip)
5-Extract boot_signed.img and recovery.img
6-Execute fastboot flash boot boot_signed.img and fastboot flash recovery
recovery.img
7-Reboot and relock the bootloader
and now you don't need ruu and phone works well I tried this myself and it worked
Firstly, thanks for your sugggestion. One question though, won't relocking the bootloader also unroot the phone?

I am in a similar problem with my htc one x. I tried to flash android revolution but recovery would always tell me this;
E:can't open /sdcard/Android_Revolution_HD-One_X_8.0.0,zip
(bad)
Installation aborted
I tried to restore a backup I made from the stock system, but it just reboots shortly after showing the wallpaper. I am a real noob here and I read about updating clockwork, my version is 5.8.2.7. I do not know how to do that since I can't mount usb storage from recovery...
I really would appreciate a guide that even squirrels could follow, please

access to recovery but stuck in bootloop

None of the "similar" threads have people with this problem. I can access Recovery (Clockwork Mod v5.8.4.0), I can do everything within Recovery, full wipe, erase dalvik cache etc, BUT it still will not get past "HTC quietly brilliant".
I got into this mess by trying to flash a kernel. I think the battery was about 15%.
I can mount the sd card via usb, so I'm going to extract the back-up I did before getting into this bootloop.
I've tried this:
If you have Custom ROM on or nandroid backup internal SD card
Reboot in recovery (If your still in fastboot, choose "Reboot Bootloader" and then go into recovery)
Restore a Nandroid Backup or flash Custom ROM
Reboot and go into fastboot
Clean cache in fastboot

Very Similar Problem - Please Help!
I was wondering if anyone can help me. I have the same problem, all it says is 'HTC Quietly Brilliant' and it is stuck in a reboot cycle.
I was watching a YouTube tutorial on how to flash CM10 onto my One X (I do have ClockworkMod and all of that stuff installed already). Everything was going well, but the video only briefly (for maybe a second) mentioned the fact that you have to put the CM10 zip folder onto the phone storage before you flash the boot.img. I went on and followed the steps and tried to flash the boot.img, but as I said earlier, all the phone will do is reboot over and over again. I have charged it to full battery so this should not be a problem when I go to fix it.
I would be really grateful for any help on the subject as I contacted the person who made the tutorial, and he has not responded. Thanks in advance.
Just an update if anyone has the same problem as I did, all I had to do was go into ClockworkMod and go to:
Mounts and Storage > Mount USB Storage
Then, just connect the device to your PC and put the zip folder on phone storage. Then, flash the boot.img, and install the zip from SD card in ClockworkMod. Hope this helps.

First off, I'm sorry if you already knew most of the instructions below, or if you are an experienced user. I'm just writing the full steps out so that any user, novice or otherwise, can follow the steps and get their phone working. I will also assume that your phone is already rooted and has ClockworkMod installed.
Before anything else, make sure you have HTC Sync downloaded so that you have the drivers.
Okay, when you are trying to install a custom ROM, you have to put the full zip file on the phone storage. What I would do is create a new folder in C: drive called 'Android' or 'HTC ROM' or whatever you want to put. For the rest of the answer, I will call it AndroidF (android folder). Copy this zip folder into AndroidF. If you go into the zip folder (don't unzip it), you should find a disk image file called 'boot' or 'boot.img'. Copy this out so that it sits in AndroidF too (do not move it!). Once it is in AndroidF, rename it boot.
Once you have done this, go into the bootloader and go to recovery. This will take you to ClockworkMod. From there go to:
Mounts and Storage > Mount USB Storage
Then, connect the phone to your PC and put the zip folder onto the phone. Then, tap unmount, and go back to the bootloader. Click fastboot, and make sure that it says 'Fastboot USB'. If not, just unplug the phone and plug it back in again, and this message should be there. Leave the phone once this has happened.
Go back to AndroidF, and hold shift, right click and choose "Open Command Window Here". Command Prompt should pop up. Then type the following,
fastboot flash boot boot.img
If this works, skip to the next paragraph. If not, type fastboot flash boot boot.img.img. This should then work.
Go back to the phone, and select HBoot. Then go to the recovery from here. Once in the recovery, go to:
Install zip from SD card > Choose zip from SD card
Find the zip file and install it. And voila! Your phone should be running whatever ROM you have picked. If you have any more problems, message me back and I will try and help as well as I can
You can use "adb push" and "adb pull" in recovery to copy files from and to your phone, but you have to mount sdcard from recovery first.
to browse storage directly on the phone you can use "adb shell" and then "ls" and "cd directoryname" to find file which you want to copy from the device.

did you wipe & flash the kernel via fastboot if not do it and you are done
If you did wipe & flashed the boot.img try reflashing by using the following steps
1) Boot your device in recovery mode. You should now see the recovery menu
2) Use the volume up/down keys to select "apply update from ADB," then press power to select it
3) open the folder where your boot.img and adb are storred, then press SHIFT button and the right-click mouse button and choose “Open command prompt here”
typ adb sideload <filename>.zip (for example: adb sideload update.zip)
The zip package will begin installing. When it's done, select "reboot system now."

OS is completely gone on my HTC one X

Hi!
I lend my HTC one X to my friend that said that he would boost my phone up to KitKat 4.4.4. But he returned it completely blank. I am pretty sure he erased the whole system.
When I start the device it stops at the HTC logo. I am able to enter the bootloader and it says "Unlocked". When I enter "Recovery" the device loads a grey screen with a couple of options. The main title is "ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.4.8".
When I connect my phone to the PC it shows the device ( H: ).
Please help, how do I restore my phone? I don't care if it is rooted or not. I just want it to work again.
Kind regards,
Alexander
you can restore your phone either by nandroid backup or by flashing a custom rom..

I am not so good at this. Did I not have to have made a backup in nandroid before things got out of hand? The storage seems to be totally deleted. How do I put in an OS again?
I tried to use adb but I might have done it wrong because my PC says that there are no devices found. Are you able to help me?

aaah, okey.
How do I transfer nandroid to my phone? I'm unable to connect my phone to my PC, it makes the sound that the PC found my phone but it does not pop up anymore. Tried to search on google and when I looked in sdcard/clockworkmod/ the folder is empty.
Do you have a guide on how to use this? I do not know if it is possible but i am afraid that my friend has erased all data.

Follow the steps
-Download latest cyanogenmod nightly(endeavoru) from their website.
-Extract boot.img from the zip.
-Download latest Gapps. Google PA gapps and download the gapps which suits you, from the xda thread.
-Download ONEXROOT.zip from http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/HTCOneX/root
-Extract the zip, name it as 'onexroot' and copy the extracted boot.img to the folder.
-Power phone in fastboot mode.
-While in the onexroot folder, press shift key and right click, open command terminal here.
-type 'fastboot flash boot boot.img'
-Go to cwm recovery and mount your internal storage.
-Copy the cyanogenmod and gapps zip in internal storage
-Install/Flash the cyanogenmod and gapps zip.
-Reboot phone. Kitkat instaled.

Thank you for a good guide but I got stuck on 'Go to cwm recovery and mount your internal storage'
What I have available in the main menu (IMG_1) is 'mounts and storage'. When I select that I have the options from IMG_2 and IMG_3. If i Choose mount USB storage the device shows IMG_4 but nothing happens.
Am I doing it wrong? The only thing that happens is when I connect my device to the computer, it makes the sound as if it was found.
Try flashing this recovery. http://d-h.st/nmh
Download the image and put it in the onexroot folder.
In fastboot mode, type fastboot flash recovery <name-of-recovery/file>.img
Did this because the cwm mount never worked for me too :/
