That's a boot animation. And you cannot change the kernel logo only if you make/create a kernel yourself.
Actually u can,there's a post here to chAnge kernel logo but I cant seem to install ubuntu on my laptop

You can enable CRT animation by tweaking framework-res.apk, I cannot remember how though.
Google "edit framework-res.apk to enable CRT animation"

Yes, I know, it enables the animation.... But SE replaced it with the fading animation, ive checked

I just tried it from its system dump & its not working.... Phone boots up but now the old animation (fade) has gone too.... This is probably due to the resolution so im trying the .145 xperia play dump

I have downloaded the tx ROM all the required things.. I am about to start working on it, but my personal work and college are eating up all my time and i barely get time to sleep.. I need some time to start working on it and if i am right, it shouldn't take much longer to complete the port since its Xperia to Xperia and also same resolution which is a big time saver.. Keep calm guys.. We'll see what we can do..

no way.system needs ram for its working too.u may get near about 650-690 mb ram,depending on the rom.lets hope to see a 4.3 working port for this phone
500mb is enough, xs has 685, were good
