[Q] HyperDrive bug?? Anyone else?! - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Hey everyone!
So I flashed to Hyper Drive 15 about a week ago. I noticed if something is plugged into the headphone jack any Bluetooth audio OR speaker phone will not work on my end until the headphone jack is clear.
This happens with headphones and an aux cable.
Has anyone running this Rom noticed this? If you are running it could you try to duplicate it?
I really need this to work I have a bunch of conference calls during the week in my car...
Any fixes or suggestions would be appreciated.
Also WHAT ROM DO YOU THINK WORKS THE BEST? I like having the multi window, that is the only reason I switched, but I feel like cm10.2 ran better with battery life and it never had this odd bug....
Thanks!

Never got that. I did get activation screens that never went away unless I hit home button with just about every boot. That made me to move on to another ROM. The only thing about hyperdrive that I digged was the s4 weather widget. Try De-Tmobilized and see if that floats your boat.

Yeah I hate that activation screen... Ok well I'll prob move on to another ROM soon...this one seems nice but almost unfinished...the "report a bug"link doesn't even work!
I'll check out the other ROM now. I'm assuming it will work with AT&T model.
That's for the reply!

[Q] [RESOLVED!] G2 issues - car dock/speaker phone

I bought a G2 second hand a few months ago and it's served faithfully, but I think by using a belt pouch with a magnetic closure hosed it up - if not, then the timing is one hell of a coincidence as these both started right at about the same time.
First problem - car home keeps popping up. I've been able to disable it, but if the G2 is like many other phones, it uses a magnet to sense whether or not it's in a car dock.
Second problem - speaker phone. The phone defaults to the speaker phone when I place a call or answer one, leaving me to have to turn off the speaker in favor of the earpiece.
It's not ROM specific - I've tried various ROMs in an attempt to remedy but I think the damage is done.
Any thoughts? Am I completely off in left field here?
Edit - 5/17
Issue resolved by performing a SuperWipe and then reinstalling ROM!
I had the same issue. Couldn't figure out how to fix it other than using titanium backup to uninstall car home.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
I did a battery pull seems to have fixed the issue.

I've done a number of battery pulls - didn't help :-(
Well for ****s and giggles I reinstalled car home from titanium no more random car home launches or speaker phone issues. Maybe try a super wipe? then reinstall a new rom?

HUH? What the??? LOL!
Maybe I'll give it a whirl - just for ****s and giggles and all that
Lots of ****s and lots of giggles - it actually worked!
Glad to see that worked! hopefully it stays that way
Go figure - I never would have thought that it would have done anything, but, I was willing to try pretty much anything! I've thanked a couple of your posts to get you up off of zero thanks

Buglist for FD02. It is your chance to make a difference.

Everyone, we need a team project. I need a bug list for FD02. Can you all please list specific problems that you are having with the rom? Please refrain from listing problems with apps unless the app is a stock part of OS(ie caledar, contacts, music app, you get the point).
For example, if you are having issue with bluetooth please be specific on what the issue is, what hardware you are using, and how to recreate the problem.
If you have a problem that cannot be recreated it will be hard to get fixed. Thanks. You really will be helping.
All bugs need to be confirmed by at least two members so if we could help each other by testing bugs thay would be great.
And can we please refrain from immature useless post. Your post will be deleted and there is a chance you might get a nice vacation. There is a thread already set up for rants.

1 Auto Launch apps when you plug the phone into a DOCK. You can't turn it off. It forces you to pick one.
SO ANNOYING.
2 THE MODEM SUCKs. There is SO much work that needs to be done there. All the software development for ICS should be halted until they get the modem squared away.
THEY NEED TO BEEF UP THE VOLTAGE TO THE CORE AND TO THE RADIO. worry about battery life later, just get it to work first. Most of us can't even get a wifi signal standing 10 feet from a router, or a cell signal.
3 CUT and PASTE Can't cut the entire sentence. It seems that the first letter of every sentence is unselectable as you can't move the carrier over far enough to select it. It seems the touch screen does not sense to the entire edge of the screen. I think the touch screen does not sense that far off the screen, so you can't select the first part of any sentence, if it is all the way over to the edge of the screen. Maybe touch screen or resolution? This happend in portrait and landscape modes both.

I have 2 issues.
One is sometimes when I am typing in the browser when I place the curser in the text field it randomly adds a word. Does anyone know what i am talking about or how to recreate it?
The other is my stereo bluetooth Motorola headphones will randomly pause music without me using my phone or pushing any buttons. I was using the treadmill and it just would pause out of no where.
I am not sure if i was using the stock music player or the Play one. Anyone else experience this issue either?
And can you please refrain from dumb useless post. We are actually trying to get something accomplished.

The scrolling Is still super twitchy, I keep thinking it won't bother me but after a while it starts to drive me nuts...
Sometimes there is a delay when opening things or rotating the screen.
Chrome beta still crashes and is unusable...

Your Bluetooth issue is not just you kc..... I have had similar issue forever. I dont think it's a phone or even a Samsung issue, I think its an Android issue.
I've been aggrivatingly dealing with that same problem even when I had my original Evo 4G.
What I have been able to narrow it down to is I get the pauses if I get a text, email, voicemessage, anything that causes the system to tweak or chirp. I've had it happen when switching radio/cell towers. Bluetooth, wired head phones, speakerphone, it don't matter.
It will happen during any audio playback, streaming, or stored. I keep hoping they will fix this annoying bug but until they do I just keep hitting play.

I will venture to say that this bluetooth problem is specific to this phone. I never had problems like this with my EVO. All of these problems started to show up with ICS. The were around when I was using GB but it was not as prevalent. The issue that I have is once it connects, it does not want to reconnect unless I power cycle bluetooth.

And it is THAT bad.
Don't know if it's just me but I get that stupid acore force close when using the stock contacts app. Also when scrolling through my contacts under the dialer section.

i mean honestly these issues are in most sammie devices .. sad that modem/radio/gps issues haven't been completely fixed by now .. some scroll touchscreen lag .. those the same issues since the OGEpic ... i went to the photon and radio is great but pentile sucks so i came back to sammi thinking these small annoyances has been taken care of .. boy i was wrong .. maybe the devs should work for samsung just saying!! ..
For anyone having issues with these builds, I highly suggest completely formatting your phone. This includes your internal storage. I kept having many of the issues listed above until i finally cleared every thing off my phone. Now every thing runs flawlessly, including chrome.

Ok.. only issue ive been having is the modem.. cell signal gives full signal out and about and has no issues with calls.. however, it says 3g but when i try to load something it always drops to 1x.. and when it says 3g it runs at 1x speeds or doesnt work at all.. when using roam control it runs way better.. my dl speed hasnt been over .5mbps.. and up speed gets over 1mbps where i have full reception in different parts of town

Only bugs I've noticed are:
Apps sometimes lag when tapping the icon to open.
Bluetooth was flawless for me on stock GB. Works fine on FD02 but my Kensington car kit has minor issues. Mainly, the remote will only control Google Play Music and won't play or pause other apps like PocketCasts or radio apps. It controlled those on GB. Minor but I miss it.
Otherwise, so far so good.

Stock ROM, no root. No in call audio?

Hey guys. So yea I recently just got my replacement phone two days ago. Tmo pushed an update to my phone, and now I lost my in-call audio. The weird thing is my mic works, rendering me only able to talk on speakerphone. Which is embarrassing around my friends haha. So yea I guess I have a few questions. 1) anyone know what the **** happened and how I can fix it? 2)Should I just root it and flash a newer, better ROM? Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance
If it's completely stock why not just call tmobile

Have you tried a battery pull? You would be amazed that a fresh reboot fixes. If that doesn't work get a replacement. Don't bother rooting a improperly working phone.....

Help, please!

When I play my music back though my aux cable in my car, it sounds very weird. The background music and back up vocals are very loud and the lead vocals and main guitar is very low. I updated to ics, didn't notice any issue. Flashed darkside, didn't notice anything, then flashed cm10 and started noticing it.
I then backed up to darkside to see if cm10 was the issue. It doesn't seem to be as my issue is still there.
I tried it in my friends car to make sure it wasn't my aux cable or car, same issue.
Anyone have any ideas?

awake,
Sounds like a lot of flashing. What are you on now? What ROM, what kernel etc... have you been wiping every time?
How adventurous to try the JB builds
If you've done everything right... it's probably a hardware issue. Maybe the plug is messed up or the cable is messed up. I've seen it in my old headphones where if the cable-decays in a certain way, you get that... "background loud" "main low"... it's strange, but get a new cable Pray it's not the jack on the phone.
The jb build was awesome. Everything worked great except id get random SODs.
I don't flash kernels because I'm scared, so unless the rom comes with a different kernel I just leave it alone. Same with radios.

ATT Samsung Galaxy S III/SGH-I747 4.2.1 bluetooth issues

X-iPhone user here but I have owned android honeycomb tablets in the past.
hey guys, I have been at this for days. I LOVE what 4.2.1 brings to the table over the stock bloatware 4.1.1 that slows down the phone(also kills the battery faster). but No matter what ROM I try I get choppy bluetooth . With CyanogenMod 10.0 BT works but There is no bass until I make a BT call let it ring for 5 seconds then hang up. But there are other issues all BT related as well such as no resume on start up of the headunit.
my question is am I doing something wrong or just not using the right roms?
right now I restored back to the OEM 4.1.1 and my BT works perfect with my poineer AVH-P3400BH with the exception of no METADATA but thats not a big deal.
thanks so much for your reply
Shawn
I've been using the latest vanilla root box. This thing is beastly, give it a shot. I'm a big Bluetooth user too, and the audio is crisp and loud, with good bass, no need to make a phone call. The only thing, every so often (read, not very often) the Bluetooth doesn't like to turn off. All you have to do it force stop Bluetooth sharing in manage apps though.
Give it a shot. Easily one of the best ROMs I've ever used.

crap, It was working for a while with RootBox-JB-d2att-V3.6 but I had to do the phone call before I got bass again. I also cant see Metadata or hear texts. After a few calls and a few texts the phone crashed and I just had a flashing blue light and a black screen. this stinks I really like the phone and want this to work.
im going to try 3.7.1 and if that dont work im going to give up :crying:
