Very handy, hopes Google finishes in a future 4.3 update and put it on app management screen.
It's handy, AOKP had it in the settings.
Beamed from my Maguro.

yes, and you can try "App Ops Launcher" on play store to launch the "App ops" on android 4.3, it is just only 7kb.
It's a good start but I would like to see more granularity in the permissions. For example, for some apps I would love to be able to block GPS while still allowing coarse location gathering.
Very Interesting, but 4.3 still has room to improve in terms of stability. But I am sure that it's definitely better than 4.2

Android market doesn't even show that there is myAT&T app .. and market through web browser says app is not compatible with GN.
Anybody having the same issue or is it just my GN? I am on 4.0.1 stock.
Yep same issue too I was trying to find it the other day it doesn't show up in my market searches either.

Same here, I think it's because they don't like people using non-AT&T phones so they block any of their programs.

It worked on my N1. How do I extract the apk? (I'm rooted).
I'll post it here for your guys..
so I extracted the apk and installed it in my GN...
It doesn't work - you can log in, but as soon as you try to do something, a blank dialog opens. When you click ok, it brings you back to the login screen...

Cuz the app is not compatible with Android 4.0 yet.

Its nothing to do with att blocking, it is not compatible with ICS yet and lots of apps like HBO also don't show up on market.
I believe we should start seeing more ICS compatible apps in the coming months.

Even if you do get a hold of the apk, since its US only, I'm going to assume that the cloud feature isn't going to work, even people with VPN had issues.

I got it to work, I had to sign into Google music using the PC music manager using a proxxy. Made the site think I was in USA and I live in the UK.

Please forgive me for asking what is probably a noob question:
For the last few weeks, perhaps since I upgraded to FI27, the google search doesn't pull up the contacts and local apps anymore. I can't figure out how to get it back. I've seen something about this feature bring removed from the galaxy III ... Did they do this to us as well? If not, can anyone point me to the correct setting for this? If yes ... Any workaround for this (I'm rooted, in case it matters).
Thanks for your help ... And again, my apologies if this is something I'm spoofed you figure out.

Apple can suck it! Can't wait the the USPTO finalizes the invalidation of apples patents on crap that shouldn't have gotten a patent in the first place.

Yea F&CK Apple.
But if you want to get Google to search your phone you'll have to use an older 'GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk'
Hint you might want to read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762570
I haven't used this in a while I'm quite happy with Google Now so far.
Good luck.

Hello,
I flashed Calkulin's ROM a few weeks ago and I got the 'system update available' message this morning.
Is there a way to disable this message, since I am not planning to apply the system update.
Thank you in advance.
Yes, quite a few. If you use Xposed Framework there is a Syscope Blaster module. If not look for FOTAkill, I know it's somewhere in the General section.

I also noticed that it appeared under the Task Manager as 'Google Services Framework'. I killed the app and it's gone for now. It will probably re-appear when I reboot.

Hello all I am not sure if this it's the right place to post this, but I was wondering if anyone knew or knows of any way to disable permissions for an app. My reason being there's a rise in apps with permissions they have no business having. Facebook messenger for one, scanner radio and many more. I fear that trying to disable certain permissions without properly breaking an app down might break it,like not let u run it. I know this is a stupid subject but if anyone can shed some light on this situation it'd be much appreciated thank you

Depending on the ROM you can usually be fine disabling permission you genuinely find intrusive. For instance on vanir...
