rip your cd collection to flac. You can use various players to play it including powerAmp, winAmp, playerPro, and my fav so far that gives you the lyrics to your music TuneWiki.
Rip your fave movies to the device. Store all your apps a couple backups nandroids your entire days worth of classes you recorded with your camera cause you were to lazy to write anything down in class that day because you were playing with roms the previous day.

Jelly Bean Google Music App

Don't know if everyone is aware of this yet, but it seems Google has updated the Google Music app for Jelly Bean:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1350164
I haven't tried it yet so I'm not sure what changes they made from ICS, but I understand there is an updated widget, which is good enough for me.
Sorry if this is a double post... I can't find a thread-specific search function in new XDA (which I otherwise love, btw)
Here is a quote of the linked-to post, but make sure to go to the original to get the attached files (and to thank him)

EDIT: Because Samsung bundled Google Music as a system app, this won't work if you're not rooted.
Am I crazy? I can't see how to save songs offline in this version.

That's the same thing I've posted here. The change from 4.3.605 to 4.3.606 was just to push it out to everyone via the market. It's the same app. (and the link I posted has updated to 4.3.606 anyway)

Sync playiists, not JUST albums

Hello,
I received my Sony Smartwatch 3 a couple of days ago, and I still cannot achieve my goal of being able to shuffle all songs that are synched to my smart watch
At the moment I am only able to play tracks by album, so turning shuffle on will only shuffle tracks within that album - to play tracks from another album I need to manually find the track and play it.
I've searched the forum for similar issues, and have only come across one similar thread which is:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/smartwatch-3/help/to-shuffle-downloaded-musics-t2932170
This thread appears to suggest the solution is to create a playlist within Google Play on my Samsung Galaxy S6 and add all songs to it. This seems like a logical solution to me, but I cannot work out how to synchronise playlists to my smart watch.
When going through the usual path of Settings > Manage Wear downloads, the available list of items for me to sync to my watch are all albums, none of my Google Play playlists appear in the list. Similarly, when opening Google Play on the smart watch itself, the presented list of music items available to synchronise is the same, i.e. it is presented by album only.
From searching "how to synchronise playlists to Sony Smartwatch 3 using Google Play" and similar, I came across this guidance @ https://support.google.com/androidwear/answer/6102658?hl=en-GB, which states I should:
To listen to your music on your watch without your phone, follow these steps:
On your watch, open the Google Play Music app Google Play Music Icon.
Select Play on Wear.
To allow your phone and watch to sync, swipe up and touch Turn on sync.
From the Music sync management screen, touch to select playlists to sync to your watch.
This "Turn on Sync" option simply does not exist for me.
Alternatively, I've tried opening the playlist in Google Play on my phone, and clicked the download button (as shown in the screenshot below), although I'm not even sure what this button is supposed to be doing (what is it downloading to/from???) - either way it just stays on partially downloaded (the orange segment on the completion circle remains at its minimum size and never appears to progress before completion). This is the case even if I try to do it with a playlist with only one song in it (as demonstrated below).

Other than that I'm completely out of ideas. Not sure if the following information is useful, but:
Phone: Samsung Galaxy S6
OS version: 6.0.1
Google Play Music version: 6.7.2712Z.2783167
If I'm unable to perform such a basic function as shuffling all my songs then I'm going to have to send the watch back!
I would appreciate any suggestions.
Also, mods please correct typo in thread title - then delete this line after.
Many thanks

Q&A on music app in android headunits

Hi all:
I'm thinking of buying this Joying Android player for my car:
https://www.carjoying.com/2-din-car...-system-support-camera-dvr-for-universal.html
But I have a question about the music app, used to play music from the USB or SD card.. I hope someone can help me...
Normally in my USB/SD card, I organize my mp3's in folders, by album names. So for this android music player that comes with most android players, will the app display my songs in folders/files, or will it just search through all the files, and display them in a single-hierarchy, chronological list?
This is important to me, as I want to be able to quickly change my songs by moving to another folder when I need it...
Thanks in advance!
I don't own exactly this one, but I guess all Chinese are similar. So on the question: on mine when you slide right the music app screen on the left side is something like files explorer and you can choose what folder you want to play or press the very top option to play everything. So if your card folder structure is simple you will be able to play what folder you want in a matter of couple of clicks. But if you have complicated folders structure like folder in a folder in a folder, then will be a bit hassle. I hope that helps
Ps: you can always download any music app from gogle play that suits you
Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
I think you should consider PowerAmp, if you set correctly in setting menu, you can slide left-right for prev/next track, slide up-down for prev/next folder, also you can sort (for each folder) by album, artist or even file-name. I'm really happy with these features.
I guess I can roughly picture it in my mind... but any pictures would be extremely helpful!
I stumbled upon BlackPlayer Music Player and its awesome! Does what you're asking and more. I plugged in an old usb stick with various folders of artists into my Joying headunit and when I opened the app for the first time it was so easy to tune it. Sorts by artist, albums, songs, playlists, etc. Check it out in the app store. One pic from google:

sounds good! I'll try out the blackplayer and poweramp when my unit arrives. thanks!
I cam here to ask the same thing, I like to organise my music by Artist first then Album. The native player only wants to list the albums! I can't find a "Go up one Level" button anywhere.
On this note is it possible to remap the physical button on the head unit?
