Well, it could mean your battery is too hot... Check if its bloated (fat). If it is, it needs to be changed. Does it boot properly? If so, then shouldn't be much of a problem.

I got mine from Vodafone last night. It will only charge (at least the charging light will only come on when the phone is switched on).
It stays amber for a reasonable amount of time, then turn green. But as soon as I turn it on the charging light goes off.
The battery meter at the top of the screen shows FULL, but if I go to Settings and check there the battery shows down at one single red bar. The phone shows no inclination to switch off (even when not plugged in) with the power meter down at one red bar.
Any thoughts ideas? Bad Battery? I don't think its the charger as I have three and have tried them all.
TIA
Did you make sure that checkbox in the attached screenshot is unchecked? I accidentally checked this one time and took me forever to find out why...

Thanks for the response.
Yeah, I did look at that. It is unchecked, and really only applies to when you are connected to a PC via USB cable.
I'm getting this with wall chargers.
Gave MrMiyagi a hand. All that was required is a hard reset and the problems is resolved. Seems when Vodafone flashed with their horrible branded ROM on they didn't hard reset properly.
Just for reference incase anyone else encounters the same problem.

Bah humbug ... I was going to hard reset anyway ;-)
It's just that you need four hands to do it on this phone. Kinnyfaifai kindly supplied the extra set of hands
Final point on this to help others who experience the same thing I did.
The root cause was that I installed MrRusche's Blue theme (originally designed for the Xperia). Works great get a lovely blue instaed of manky green highlights.
BUT he included in the CAB a 1% battery driver which was screwing the battery reporting up.
Installed the 1% battery driver from this forum after installing the Blue theme and everything is rosy again. The phone will once more charge when powered on
I had to restore a backup last night and now whenever I remove it from the charger it still thinks that it is charging. Has anyone had this issue or have a way to solve this? Thanks in advance!
EDITED: Problem solved! 2nd battery pull worked. Thanks to jd1001!

Do you have to remove the battery to boot the phone up? Or is it just the battery graphic just shows up as still charging?

Just the battery graphic shows up as still charging. It doesn't seem to be affecting anything at this moment. Just annoying, but I would like to take care of it before it could cause any issues.

Strange dude, you could try a different kernel. I had that issue before but it was when the phone was turned off and charging. The phones used to hang with the charging battery logo and I had to battery pull to turn the phone on again.
Once I switched kernels the problem went away. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the help. I'll try another battery pull and see if that works. I'm waiting on CM9 to ROM.

Have you tried flashing a different kernel( if its custom of course), or perhaps reflashing the rom entirely? if neither of those work and a different cable\charger doesn't work, it could be the battery. How old is the battery?
Most of the times you can fix these type of errors just shutting down your phone, unplugging the battery and let it down for a while (one minute or more is enough). If not, just try what @matinm90 said before me. I don't think format a new ROM is the simplest way to solve the problem tough.
Let us know if you solve the problem!!

yeah technically flashing a new rom or the same one but fresh may not help, but hopefully it would narrow things down lol
Thanks for your help guys I tried a different kernel(franko), a different rom(miui) in which the battery indicator says its charging but battery is still discharging!! I don't think its a battery problem since it charges to a 100% using my friends nexus.

I`ve disconnect and connect the battery connector and now my tablet become so much worst. Restarting itself every few seconds and shows different battery percentage. The only thing I did was disconnect and connect the battery connector. Why it keep on restarting itself? It become very hot too. Can someone here help me, please?
edit: also turn off itself. become 0% even after charge shows 100% then keep on rebooting..

If it's still under warranty -- send it in. I'd put a custom rom on mine, and it wasn't even a question. It was under warranty and restarting and having battery issues. They gave me a shipping label, I sent it in, and a week later -- it is running perfectly after they replaced the part necessary.
I don't know what cause of the problem is, Everytime I boot up my phone it keep turning off and give a message "Battery is Empty" , I tried to charge my phone but it just went into an endless loop of charging Logo. when I enter System Recovery Mode my phone didn't shutdown and I think the battery is not the problem, probably a software problem .I've tried many method like cleaning the charging port, changing the cable, factory reset, turning the phone to safe mode but none of them work.
Sorry for my bad English and I wish someone could help me
Do you see any warning like "dew drop" symbol or moisture warning?

The problem was the battery. My phone works fine after replacing the battery with a new one. The repairing process was simple and you can do it yourself if you want to save budget, all you need is mobile hardware tools and LG G7 phone battery
