Hi,
I was wondering if anyone in this area of the forum is running MetroDroid on their EVO 4G. If so I am thinking about porting it over to the EVO shift. I just need some help from anyone who has it. I have asked the maker Bloodykiller86 but he has not gotten back to me yet and it usually takes a while because I'm sure he is very busy. I plan to use Rom Porter to do the port and at a certain point in the process it asks me the program asks the following:
What rom are you porting?
1. Stock or Cyanogenmod based
2. MIUI
3. Paranoid Android
4. PAC MAN
5. Manufacturer Rom (Touchwiz, Sense)
6. Lewa OS
This is where I am stuck because I am not sure what option to choose because I am not sure what it is based on?? I am kind of a newbie and am still learning so you help would be appreciated.
Thank you.
Todd
Bump. Any input will help.

If anyone has a deodexed stock rom or knows the method for accomplishing this could you please post it up here? would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks.
Download a stock rom from this forum or capture one yourself with rom manager, then do a google search for htc basic kitchen. You should find what you need within the first few results.

would much more consider picking up an incredible once a pure 2.2 rom is produced for it with no Sense what-so-ever!
i'd do it myself but a sandwich is always better when someone else makes it... i'm assuming roms work the same way
Hi guys,
I'm new here. YAY, first post.
Can someone please tell me real quick what is a good bare bone system for the HTC Desire? I've had it for more or less two months now, it's already rooted and running villianrom at the moment. But I want something so barebone it should just about dial and send and receive message. Obviously the required stuff should also be there, but I want no extra apps. I'll add all of the apps as I need them.
Any suggestions?
Cheers,
DarkRanger
If you want totally nude/stock/whatever, then I would suggest this by teppic74
I honestly haven't tried it before, but if it gives what it advertises, that would be probably what you want
There would probably be more out there if you search.
Your next alternative would be to cook a rom yourself
Welcome btw
Try the aosp roms.
That's cyanogenmod, defrost and oxygen.

Hi everyone!
Please be gentle as this is new for me for a phone, not new here on xda just spent time on the Galaxy Tab 10.1 forums, just new to the T mobile SG2. I just picked this excellent phone yesterday and have already rooted it. I have the tab 10.1 running task's ROM with perhoot's kernel and flashing ROM etc is pretty straight forward since it isn't with a carrier, just WiFi. I currently have Android 2.3.6 and want to flash a ROM, I am back and forth between Bombaridier V.3.5 and CyanogenMod 7 Self-Kang #2 Alphafied 2.3.7 or any other one that someone would recommend?
Since I have never owned an Android phone only the tab 10.1 I have some question and I did search but am still confused and dont want to screw up.
1. If I am on 2.3.6 can I flash one that says 2.3.7?
2. I am on t mobile, so the one I flash needs to be in the Android development on the T Mobile forum located here?
3 any other thing I need to do so I don't lose the base band of the phone (i guess that is what they call it) as my wife has an iPhone and I keep seeing instructions for preserving base band?
3. Anything I missed that I need to know about?
All I really really appreciate the help and guidance just want to get on a custom ROM as I love it on my tab 10.1, thanks again everyone!!!

Welcome!
1. You can flash from 2.3.6 to 2.3.7 no problem.
2. Any ROM that is in this specific subforum will work. Do NOT flash anything for any other Galaxy S II, it may brick your phone.
3. Basebands are not included in roms, so you will not lose it, unless you flash a new modem.
Just remember to always perform a full wipe, I recommend the Darkside Super Wipe. You can backup your apps with Titanium Backup.
Hope this helps!

Look into TDJ's superwipe in the rom section. I do that between flashes since it keeps things clean.
An example is that before it came out, i had 1.8 gigs used on my rom partition, and after using it and installing all the same apps with data(restoring with titanium) and having the phone rebuilt to the same state with another samsung based rom, it was only 1.1 used. Lots of junk gets left behind here and there.
You can also flash AT&T Skyrocket ROMs, Kernels, Radio Modems, Recoveries, and Odin's.
Hey guys,
im very skeptical still on the Dualboot for the S3. can anyone help on how to do it? i've searched the forums and i still dont understand well. thank you!
i want to have dualboot so i can switch from Paranoid Android (base is Cyanogen 10) to another rom so i can be able to update my PRL and profile etc.
Hello,
I have a Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 (SM-T520) & I saw that there were no custom roms for it currently. So, I thought it would be fun to see if I could make my own custom rom for it. I was wondering where to start, if someone could point me in the right direction that would be awesome! Also, i'm looking to try to get a clean kitkat rom (like cyanogenmod) or edit my stock rom and remove some apps and change settings.
Lastly, I was reading that there is a problem developing for exynos 5 or something like that. Can someone explain on that to me.
I really appreciate it.
Thanks!

Anyone???
I'm wondering the same thing,
How do you extract/decrypt the official firmware?
Followed some of the tutorials on the forum but didn't work for our sm-t520...
Here ya go.. There are some really nice guides in this forum..http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development
LoL how did I miss that one xD, thanks for pointing it out
Lets try that one...
I could really be without touchwiz.... Aosp or something, but I will probably just sell it and buy a new nexus 10 / 8, when they are available. The resolution was nice on this though.

Alright so i'm trying to make a stock unbloated rom for the sm-t520. However, I can't figure out how to get a custom recovery for this device. Anyone have any advice?
Thanks!
Edit:
Looks like I answered my own question =) Found it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2722900
Hopefully, now i'll be able to compile a debloated stock rom!
