Who cares? 4.3 is an incremental release. No big changes just a few minor tweaks. Oh yea they changed the system font...I can't wait.
It'll be added when the devs get around to it. The source is already out, Nexus devices are getting it OTA, or can already flash it via google's developer website using their method. It won't be long, but it's not a super special upgrade. I already have it on my Nexus 7.
The comments above are not true. Even though it is a point upgrade, it still brings quite a few enhancements to Jelly Bean. The source code for 4.3 is already available so you can expect the major developers to merge the code within a few days and have some early builds out. The smaller devs will then take that code and merge into their ROMs.
Just wait til CM get implemented new AOSP... I bet there will be more than 10 variety.

Bluetooth Low Energy is only for devices that support it. And that's not anything like streaming audio or headsets. There is a whole new set of profiles for it.
In short, you won't see any difference with anything you're currently using.

Only reason I want 4.3 is because the Bluetooth is supposed to connect quite a bit better on AOSP ROMs.
I'm more excited about the improved performance and OpenGL ES 3.0 (if this is supported). I don't use Bluetooth so much so it's not a big deal for me I don't have a problem with how Android 4.2.2 performs but I wouldn't mind seeing a better performance

very nice, thank you akellar. running very smoothly so far.
I'm having two problems on this rom for some reason. I'm getting lockups in Chrome browser, the second time I did a battery pull because of it I had to re enter my password for Chrome. I also will be around 50+ battery life, reboot and I'm down to 15%. It's there any way I can find out what's causing this?

I don't use Chrome so I can't speak to issues with it. A logcat could help though. The stock kernel is pretty extreme on some settings as well so possibly switch the kernel or tweak the settings. I'll probably be going to Lean Kernel in future releases just for stability but still highly suggest AK kernel.
As far as the weird battery stats, that happens on all roms from time to time. If you reboot again it will possibly go back to normal. It doesn't happen often but it does happen, especially on a lookup or hard reboot.
Bump ....

What do you plan on doing to improve the radios? The only change is the way the system determines bars from the dBm measurement. Roms don't impact signal. And radios can't be altered.
The audio on this Rom is much softer than rootbox or some others I tried. Am I missing something? I set up noxide as usual, but just not the same performance from the sound.
Rom is sick otherwise though.

It's wouldn't be in the OP, because HDMI mirroring has to be supported at the kernel level for it to be present at all. It has absolutely nothing to do with the rom.
I think this is why you're not getting any straight answers because you're asking the wrong question.

Devs don't add this to their OPs because it's not a ROM related issue. In fact it's not really an issue at all. The simple fact is that vanilla android, also known as AOSP does not support HDMI-out and with that said there's no need for any OP to state that HDMI-out isn't supported because it's known across the board with AOSP. This also includes the Google Nexus devices since they have no manufacture overlays and are pure vanilla android, which is why I suggested looking into Slimports because I heard they provided HDMI-out support for some Nexus devices but don't hold me to it as I never purchased one so I'm not sure if that logic is true. If so, they might work on othe oem devices running AOSP ROMs but again don't hold me to that. You should look into it though.

It might be known across the board to devs that HDMI mirroring is not supported by AOSP, but the majority of people are ROM users who wouldn't know that. It should be stated in the OP of every AOSP ROM, otherwise their threads are gonna get filled with these types of questions. Thanks for the info though, knowing is half the battle. However, I seem to remember running a few different AOSP ROMs on my GNex that did support HDMI out, not just Slim ROMs. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here.

This is fantastic news if true. One would think it would utilize all the sensors of the S4. Maybe some custom AOSP & all the proper drivers etc.... with Tmo bands to boot. This is indeed a dream come true...if true.
Would be fantastic because then we would have all the proper code to make a fully working aosp rom with all of the features of stock touchwiz. I'm glad I ditched Sprint for tmobile.

It would be odd for Sammy to use the same S4 hardware and not utilize sensors and camera capabilities. No reason why it couldn't be AOSP with custom code to use all hardware features.
Question would be if it has all sensors or is stripped down hardware wise.
Just some thoughts. ..

You have to understand that 90% of the camera options are a closed source part of TW. It cant use use custom code unless they open source the code which we all know they are not gonna do. The biggest question is will it contain one of Samsungs new unrootable kernels.

Or Has The Development For This Phone Seriously Slowed Down?
The S4 came out. Many are working on both devices or more, 5 or so Roms just got updated I wouldn't see that as slowing down very much. This is also the time a lot of people get the used device to Dev on so many may come to our community as well. If you get "bored" you can try to build yourself or use att Roms also, so long as they don't have their updater-script device specific.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
I think the above is true. It's just not shiny enough anymore. I still love it though!
Another aspect, from a development point of view is: why? Why develop for the S3? It's already over-saturated with (mostly) TW and AOSP ROMs. And one ROM is pretty much the same as the next. What I'm trying to say is, nobody is going to reinvent the wheel, because there is nothing wrong with the one we're using. If I'm being honest, we already have a ridiculously large selection of ROMs to choose from. There's not really anything to update.
Well over in sprint forum we have cnexus working on the sense five rom...i dont think its slowing to much

This!!! And further more like aerowinder stated, there isn't much more that can be done. Almost all AOSP Roms have the same issues and will continue to for the most part, they all use the same overall base for the most part, if one has more "features" it is more prone to breaks, same goes for TouchWiz Roms. The more stuff messed with and customized the larger the chance for breaks. I think the forum is bloated as is but thats not a problem as it gives options.

I completely agree with this, I find roms that are closest to stock, AOSP or Touchwiz, to be the ones that are the most pleasant to use.
Not trying to bash all the hard core rom cooks out there who packs in features into their roms, it is just my preference. You guys are doing an excellent job.

I'm watching Ubuntu development and its not progressed any further on the kernel level than the last kernel I posted - it's in Development if you want to try out the OS but nothing works. I have to wait for Ubuntu to update the kernel source... They're still using 4.1.2 source code which is what they launched with. They need to work on the kernel before it's going to be any use.
First release isn't until October so I don't think they are going to do much kernel development right now and instead they're going to focus on app development

It is not possible to port international ROMs to the Us S3. Entirely different hardware. We will have to wait for an official 4.2.2 release or rely on AOKP, AOSP, CM, etc.

I've been thinking about porting it over but been super busy lately.. Using a CM10.1 based rom to port the international 4.2.2 update..

That's quite the project you are thinking about undertaking!

That is typical after a device has been out for a year or so... It will slow down a bit.
I wouldn't worry too much, though. Our devices are going to get the 4.2.2 update... Things will pick up again.
I heard a leak may be exposed within the week. Rumor, of course... But from Samobile.com, they are typically a good source of information for stuff like that.

Really?! That would be awesome! I had so much fun back when we would get weekly leaks!
Can you link to where you saw that?

Seems to be in the comments here:
http://www.sammobile.com/2013/06/19/sammobile-prepare-your-flagship-device/
Can't find much else about it but I guess we'll know tomorrow?
I found this... it seems that a fixed leak for the international version is what's coming...

Lol
I couldn't help but laugh a little at all those comments.
But I can just about guarantee its not for any of the US versions.

Yeah I about lost my mind trying to keep up with some of those comments haha.
It looks like its the I9300 for sure though, we haven't even had one test build for US variants and it makes sense, especially with all the features of the S4 that Samsung is porting over. Like it or not, they are always going to update Exynos devices before Qualcomm, especially when it comes to the S3 because of the relatively large disparity between the performance of the two versions.
Anyone heard anything about a software upgrade?

Don't bet on it being LG
Hoping for LG to update this software to 4.3:fingers-crossed:
AFA it is LG i dont think it will happen...at least before next 4/5 month
Lg is always late in launching & updating devices
Hoped that they improve this time but, Currently they are busy gor G2...SO
My girlfriend loves her OGP, she don't care about updates or ROMs. All she wants is root. 4.3 is fast, the G pro would be insane if y'all can get a good 4.3 ASOP ROM on it.
I looked in the Dev section and saw not a single ROM listed. Are there any custom ROMs for this device?

There's an Unofficial CM build in progress. I've been using it for a few days. The only problems are lack of camera, bluetooth issues (I can't confirm that) and the home button LEDs have been disabled. I'm sure once we have a solid CM base we'll start seeing more ROMs and ports.

And once we get a fully-working CM, it's not (IIRC) that much of a jump to a fully-working AOKP or MIUI or whatever. I have much faith in our awesome devs.
I'm sad to say that this may be my last lg. just upset with the support from lg in the states. No updates took forever to get the value pack. Love the phone but disappointed in the company.

Well it took Samsung about 8 months to release Jelly Bean on the S3. So really they are all pretty bad with updates and most of that could be blamed on the carrier.
If you want immediate updates though, you have to go with Nexus.
I just hope we get some of the features of the G2

Frankly all I want are the extra qslide apps nothing else really appeals to me. The double tap to wake and sleep are OK but I get similar functionality with tasker

It's not that bad just has a learning curve. Llama is a simpler version but less powerful. Has about half the things you can do and there's another app similar I just don't like the interface its called e-robot give that one a try you might like it. It's a simpler interface then tasker but I'm just used to tasker.

Don't hold anything on lg doing a update.. They are the sorriest excuse for supporting there device... Notice I said they are not about!!! Its sad to because there devices are starting to be very nice. But if you can't support or even remotely try to update them what's the point of making it.. just find my thread on the open source and look at the delay on response for simple questions.. lol took days ......

thats not entirely true for the s3. it wasnt 8 mnths, it was like 5 - 6 mths. plus they released a couple of non-JB updates during that time before the official JB was released.
to suggest that we all drop the OGP for the nexus just for updates is a bit ignorant.
Ask and you shall receive

G2 is the last LG phone I think I'll purchase. Funny, I've only owned 3 of them, Nexus 4, LGOG, and now the Lg Pro. Lol, so technically 2 and I'm already tired of the company.

I respectfully disagree. I mean this phone came to usa in mid may to june. And in less than 2 months the value update!
I mean seriously is that not good enough?
Yes the value pack was available for korean version earlier than that but again the phone was available there first.
4.2 & 4.3 for what? its the same stuff. I was hoping from google to released a full new revamp android version..but i feel like 4.2 & 4.3 are just maintenance update to patch stuff. Yes a few things here & there...but that's it.
Now the developer support for this phone has been a little slow. But unfortunately this phone is at&t exclusive witch is stupid move from LG.
But i will buy this phone again no doubt.
I wish the camera software was better. The camera has a lot of potential but the software is not there yet.
