Put a new battery on my phone since I've been having charging problems (yes I've tried different cables this was last resort), battery was fully charged turned phone on and left it alone for half hour. I check the phone and it's gone down to 90% in that time.. I checked Gsam to see what was using up the battery and 70% was being used by "Media" im not downloading anything so I don't know why it's using up so much power...
I'm on Slim Rom Build 7 with K7 kernel if that's any help but I've been having battery problems/charging problems for awhile now no matter what Rom I use... stone have any ideas why it would be draining my battery like that?
Move your media files off your phone, then clear data on Media Storage and reboot. Wait a bit and watch for it to continue. If it stops acting up, copy your files back to your device.
This used to be a big issue last year with all our leaked firmware. Media scanner would hang up on something causing it.

Oh and if that doesn't solve it, you will need to post a lot more info for us to go much further. Including BBS and screenshots of the processes listed under Media.

I'm evaluating Juice Defender Ultimate on CM10, but it's too early to tell. Have you tried looking at running apps and see if you have something stuck in a restarting loop? Maybe get Cache Clear and clear out a misbehaving app cache (not sure that would have an effect)...
Not sure if its from an app cause this doesn't happen on gingerbread. If it were though how would I identify the offending app?

I run juice defender ultimate with the cm10 nightlies. It doesn't seem to be consistent. I have gotten the same results as the OP even with JD running occasionally. One other thing to note about JD is that it doesn't seem to retain my settings. It winds up defaulting back to the balanced profile. I haven't done extensive research yet. Just some minor observations. But using JD (when it works) is still worth it to me.

Try to freeze google maps, if mine is unfroze it wakelocks every 2 minutes. -.- also turn off network location. system updates can mess up your battery life too. also, disable google now if you dont use it, its a battery killer as well. i get at least 1:40 on a stock battery screen on time, and 5-7 hours screen on time with a 3800mah battery. phone usually deep sleeps.
I do think google maps was the culprit here, I cleared data and cache and that seems to have really helped. Thanks for you response.

What's your screen on time.
Looked kinda like liteflow might be causing problems?
Cell Standby i think is the one that is coded wrong and is lying, ignore that one.
If you press Android System in settings, battery it will show you the top components being used
Also in dev options look for and check Show CPU Usage. It will show whats using the cpu in the top right of your screen. Watch for what stays in the top few spots in the list.
There may have been something that didnt like the update. Try first uninstalling apps and if that helps reinstall them clean, no data restore. If you continue to have problems backup all data and factory reset. Start clean.
If all else fails use odin to flash the full LH2 fw.
LH2 should be a fairly stable build. Most have no issues and many get outstanding battery life. Im willing to bet its either an app or the way you updated or both.

That's really not THAT bad for a screen on time. I saw your screenshots in the OP, and you were down to 80% in only two hours of being on the battery, but you had the screen on for almost an hour of those two hours; 20%/hr for the first few hours is pretty normal. It's not stellar, but I wouldn't say it's an epic drain that being said, I'm sure you could squeeze some more juice out of it, and prob is just an app causing more drain than usual.
Also when doing a screenshot, it helps to hit the power button first, then the volume, so you don't get the volume pop up every time.

So I'm on Android 4.2.2 (LiquidSmooth v2.2),
and pretty much ever since a long time ago, I use Battery Monitor Widget to charge the battery to most maximum capacity.
I would make the update rate every 1 minute, then as the % goes from 99--->100%, I would see the charge rate slowly but surely go from +200mA to +100 to +50 to +2 to +1mA....then once it reached +0mA, I knew the charge was COMPLETELY done (I had even set up a notification trigger to play music once "Charging Completed" had been properly reached)
However, recently, for some reason, or maybe it's the ROM or maybe I'm doing this wrong to begin with, but the "mA" will not hit +0mA, it was just stuck at +1mA.
Neither does the music/song play to indicate "Charging Complete". What is going on? I use Greenify but I made an exception for this application.
Any help?
It's probably the rom. It could be something to do with the enhancements he has on it.

I'm having the same issue. The GPS keeps coming on, even with everything turned off in the general settings and within my apps. I did a factory reset and wiped all my data and the problem still persist. I also have taken out the battery, sim and sd card too and still no luck. So if anyone has any suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it.
I have not had this problem, I'm on ATT as well. Although I do not have the value pack upgrade as it seems to cause degraded battery and gaming performance on my phone.
Try factory reset from settings...save all your data first on a ext-sdcard or on your pc then do the factory reset...

Anyways location access so far turn on while making a call, conecting to wifi or data. Or waking the phone from stand by.

No this is becoming a widespread issue. I had this problem and literally would watch the switch go from off to on in a matter of seconds. Everytime I received a phone call it would turn the GPS on, each and every time. I had to disable the carrier iq and all the services associated with it, and surprisingly my battery life has significantly increased on standby.
How do you disable the carrier iq? What did you disable exactly?

I have noticed this issue as well. I am trying to pin down exactly what is causing it. I believe I am getting close, as I have noticed a specific Google location service being active each time I have had problems with the GPS. After stopping that location service the gps isn't turning on every 2-3 minutes.

GPS on device unexpectedly turns on ????
Hello everyone, greetings from my cozzy bed lol
No, serious talk.
During this last week i have noticed how my gps keep turning itself on, i an very paranoid when it comes to whats on my phone. The fact that it turns it self on at random moments
Was very strange to me. I recalled of any apps i installed., google settings, location settings, i even downgraded my Maps app because had just recently updated it. Since the problem was with the gps i assummed it could be a bug in the app. Which i find it is not. Now i have noticed that it comes on when:
*Placing a call
*Plugging usb cabke to pc/ac adpater
*Turning data connection on after being off forna while
*sometimes even after the phone gets unlocked
Now whilebmost of the times i unlock the device and its already on, i have dropped my OGP but that shouldnt be the cause as the problem is
Software related not hardware. It has been about 3 days now with this issue and i
Have grown a frustration towards it. I even thought the phone was messing up and almost trew it against the concrete when ibwas walking outside.
It really annoys me to have to be watching its state while i try to do something else
I wondered if anyone else has this same issue and if they were able to fix it.
Please help me with this bug.

Actually its most likely the AT&T Carrier IQ software that's on this phone. You can disable it in the Android system processes but it comes back on within 24hrs. Does anyone know of a thread of how to get rid of Carrier IQ on a LG Phone? I briefly browsed threads on XDA but didn't see a LG based one. Looks like the new G2 also has Carrier IQ on it too but the old Optimus G does not.
