I have just got my hands on a indian version of One X 16gb through ebay, which is supposedly 3 months old (BOX SAYS ITS FOR INDIA WITH PRICE IN RUPEES AND MADE IN CHINA).
Software it is running is Android 4.0.4, HTC Sense 4.1, Software No. 2.17.707.3 by [email protected] Team
Now I tried to understand what has been said before and update my phone, It fids a uodate and downloads it but than displays the following message "we have identified that your phone may be running a modified version of system software. please revert your phone to official htc system software to update your phone. If you did not modify your system software contact us via support section htc.com"
I am not too technical and dont necessarily want to root my phone etc. ( I dont even know what it means). All I wanted was to improve the battery performance on the phone with new software. If there is no easy solution I am willing to go the whole length just give me the link to threads to follow (easy ones).

Apppears to be not android upgrades avalaible (KitKat).I'm sure that I've an HTC ONE (M7) htc_europe Android 4.3 Sense 5.5 API Level:18 Build ID:JSS15J. Proccesor ARMv7, 4cores. OpenGL 3.0: Adreno 320. I don´t if this information is useful, and i'm giving a good explanation, sorry for mi bad english, and thanks

I'm really not sure what carrier your on but (don't take my word for it) i think your on at&t, i do know though if your on 4.3 jellybean you can root and get s-off using this http://firewater-soff.com
