Hey,
Tried to replace the glass myself on an S3 but managed to damage the back/menu touch buttons.
I can get the part but I am just wondering how exactly do you replace these? Do you need to take the digitizer off ?

Hi guys,
I have a rooted HTC Wildfire! Lately i have been facing a lot of problem with the touch screen. The top area and the middle area of the screen don't respond to touch atall. I just wanted to know if this is a problem with the touch? If yes which i need to change ? Is it the Touch Screen Digitizer or LCD screen ? I am planning on ordering it from the ebay.
Thanks in Advance

I unfortunately cracked my galaxy nexus screen. I am still able to use touch screen functionality but i hate looking at cracks. Do I have to buy a complete LCD/digitizer combo to replace or can I just get LCD replacement? Any help would be much appreciated.

I would replace the whole combo if I were you. The glass and digitizer is so close welded together it isn't for anyone to separate and change one of those two.
I don't know if the glass is even sold separately?
Swype'ed on my CM10 Galaxy Nexus
Check out this thread, he managed to only replace the glass. However, I'd say that it's probably more difficult/finicky than replacing the entire assembly.

How would I go about finding out what's cracked on my phone? If I'm correct there's a digitizer, touch screen and the glass.
The top is cracked, but how would I go about finding out if the pieces under are cracked without opening the phone?
Just want to double check before buying anything.

If the screen still responds to touch and there aren't any dead pixels, then its just the glass itself. Basically if everything looks and works as it should, then the only thing damaged (in your case) is the glass.

You'd be better off buying the digitizer and LCD pre-fused together to save you the effort of trying to get them apart with a heat gun
